Good morning!
This weekend's Stamp Simply challenge from Sharon ~ No Time To Stamp, was to make gift card, cash or check holders. Well who doesn't need a number of these card holders laying around??? I made 2 of them and should have made more because once I figured out the dimensions, they came together very quickly!!! My first money holder is also my submission for our Up Late and Stamping Snowman challenge. Cindy and I were chatting on line Friday night and realized that no one from our group had posted a challenge yet so thank goodness for our fearless leader ~ Jen ~ Jennifer's Sweet Designs, she put her big girl panties on and challenged us to make a snowman card! I love snowman cards! Well, here is my snowman money holder:
The way I made the money holder was to cut my base cardstock (I used Sage Shadow) 6 1/2" X 7". I then scored it at 1 1/2" and 4 3/4". The larger flap is on the top. I then decorated it with Whisper White cardstock and Wintergreen decorative papers. I used 2 coordinating brads to adhere the bottom flap. See below for a photo of the inside of the holder.
I stamped my snowmen from Flaky Friends using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock. I then punched them out using my Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval punch. The Sage Shadow mat was cut using my Creative Memories oval cutter. I colored the snowmen using a blender pen and Sage, Celery, Pretty in Pink, Banana, Artichoke and Soft Sky ink pads. I highlighted some parts of the snowmen using my Stardust stickles. At each scallop, I used my white gel pen to make dots. There was no real reason for doing this, there was just an empty space and empty spaces really bother me!!! LOL!!!
The ribbon is first a white scalloped ribbon I had bought from Joann's and then on top of that some Celery grosgrain. I tied the little silver snowflake on using white fiber. The snowflake charm is from Walmart. I found gold and silver ones in their Christmas decoration department and you get 12 of them for $.97!!! Can't beat that! The way I closed the flap was with a white Velcro dot. I actually cut the dot in half and it works perfectly!
This card was done pretty much the same way as the card above but I used Real Red and Wild Wasabi cardstock and the decorative paper is from the Dashing pack. The stamp crab, Santa hat and sentiment is from Crab & Co. I first stamped the crab using Basic Black ink and then colored with my Real Red, River Rock, Wild Wasabi and Close to Cocoa ink pads and blender pen. The hat was stamped on scrap cardstock, cut out and then colored with a blender pen and Wild Wasabi ink. The vanilla cardstock is Poison Ivory from Cutcardstock.com. I used my Creative Memories circle cutter and cut out the crab and then mounted him on a scallop circle I punched from my Marvy Giga punch. I paper pierced right around the edge of the image circle ~ again, there was an empty space! I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Poison Ivory using Basic Black ink and then punching using my word window punch. I added Red Stickles to his hat and on the edges of the sentiment. Here is a picture of the inside:
The money or check fit perfectly! I intend to make my life easier this year and sending money to family in California. I better make some more of these!!!!
So, do you like the Crab & Co. set? I love this set and have used it a lot! Well, check back tomorrow and maybe you could win a BRAND NEW, UN-MOUNTED set of your own!!!
Details to follow......
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Beautiful, but I don't quite understand your measurements. 6 1/2" X 3 1/2". I then scored it at 1 1/2" and 4 3/4".
What size paper did you start with?

Love your gift holders. Great designing. The Flaky friend's holder caught my eye on Splitcoast and I just had to find out how it was made. Thanks so much for the details.
