Limited Supplies Challenge ~ Leftovers....

This was a difficult challenge for me and I am SURE it would be difficult for you too!!!  The challenge for last Friday's limited supply challenge was to make a card using SCRAPS!!!  I don't know about you but the most difficult part of this challenge for me was to decide WHICH pile of scraps to look through!!!  OMG ~ I have SO many scraps and since I have gotten over my phobia of cutting in to a 12x12 piece of paper, my scrap pile has grown by leaps and bounds!!! LOL!!!
Img_1657_edited1

The card is a 4 1/2" square.  The base of my card is Celery and then a mat of Whisper White and on top one of my most favorite decorative papers ~ Drapin' Daisies by Imaginisce and for sale at Mothers and Daughters Creations.   The lower strip is first Whisper White and then the back of the Drapin' Daisies which is a checkered Celery paper.  I used my cheap scalloped scissors to cut the Whisper White.  I used my old SU! daisy eyelets and then added some old blue/green ribbon I had gotten from Oriental Trading a few years back.  I added another eyelet just above the sentiment and just tied a knot in the ribbon, pulled it through the eyelet so the knot would fit inside the daisy and then taped the loose end on the backside of the front panel.  The scalloped circle was cut from THIS coordinating Imaginisce paper using my Nestabilities.  The next circle was cut also using my Nestabilities as was the top Whisper White circle.  The thin Celery circle was punched using my 1 1/4" circle punch.  The CUTEST Easter Pea is from Michelle's store ~ Stampers Dream and can be found right HERE.   She only has 2 left so don't delay!!!  Michelle also has back in stock, Sakura ~ Quickie glue pen.   If you don't own one of these, you really NEED to!  I use mine all the time now and actually need to get another!

I stamped my Pea by using just the corner of my Basic Black ink pad because I only wanted the Pea to be inked up!  After stamping it, I colored using my Watercolor Crayons and a blender pen.  I don't know if you can see it in my picture but I added White Flock to the bunny ears and feet.  How did I add this you ask???  Well, I used my Quickie glue pen and they don't call it Quickie for nothing!! LOL!!  I then used my Basic Black marker to ink up the sentiment and then stamped that on the checkered Celery piece.  I used dimensionals to adhere the "Pea" circle and the Drapin' Daisy piece to the front of the card.

Well, that's all for now but I have lots of fun things coming up.  This weekend is Tamara's ~ from Mothers and Daughters Creations   ~ Birthday!  She is planning to celebrate by giving YOU the opportunity to win some Blog Candy.  The link for her blog is HERE!

Have a great day!

Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #19 ~ Scallops

Hi Again!
I have had this card done for a while and just hadn't had a chance to upload it!  I have not done any of Sharon's challenges for a few weeks and I so missed it so I swore I would do this weeks challenge and here it is~
Img_1690_edited1

This card was REALLY simple!  The challenge was to make a card using scallops.  You can find it HERE.   The base of the card is Chocolate Chip cardstock and the decorative paper is Basic Grey from their Urban Couture line.  All I did was use my Martha Stewart  decorative border punch and embosser along the bottom of the decorative paper.  I added a small strip of Whisper White cardstock under the punched/embossed edge and then added aged copper brads to the centers of each sprig (I am not sure what it is).  The brads are from Making Memories.  I free hand cut a sloped edge and did faux stitching along the edge.  I used my Basic Brown marker for the stitch marks.  Michelle, from Stampers Dream, sent me the BEAUTIFUL daisy stamp by Outlines.  I had my eye on this one and REALLY appreciate how thoughtful she is ~ thank you Michelle!!!  I don't see that she has any in stock right now but hopefully she will be getting more soon!  She does have  lots of new stuff in her store that could probably tide you over until she restocks this stamp!!! LOL!!!

I stamped the image using Chocolate Chip Craft ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder.  I then colored the image in using first my crayons and then my markers.  The crayons were not dark enough so what I did was use my Celery, Saffron and Close to Cocoa markers and colored an area and then quickly used my blender pen to spread it.  I kept doing this until I had the look I wanted.  I stamped this on Whisper White cardstock and then matted it on Whisper White cardstock (I wanted a clean, exact edge and I am not good enough to not make a mess when I stamped the image) and then Celery.  I used my ticket corner punch on the upper right corner and added the same copper brad.  I mounted this on the card using dimensionals and also added clear micro beads to the center of the flower by first covering the center with Crystal Effects.    There you go, EASY!!!!  Now you can't say I don't do some easy cards!!! LOL!!!

Have a great day!

Sketch Challenge #161 ~ Elzybells ~ Make a Wish!

I got new Elzybells!!!!  These stamps are so darn cute!  There is a new line released called Friendship.  It was difficult to decide which ones to get because I wanted them ALL but because I do have to LIVE with my husband, I thought my life would be much more enjoyable if I only bought a few!!!! LOL!!!  With that said, I wouldn't want to be the ONLY person enabled by the cuteness of these stamps, the direct link for this line is HERE!   The layout of the card is based on today's sketch challenge HERE.
Img_1702_edited1

The base of my card is Whisper White then a mat of Basic Grey Lavender from their Lily Kate line.  All of the decorative paper is from the Lily Kate collection.  The next mat is a lattice looking pink, then a smaller mat of Whisper White with the floral pattern on top.  The ribbon is from SU! and is their wide Olive grosgrain.  I used my Nestabilities to make the scalloped rectangle and embossed edge on the Whisper White focal piece.  I stamped Elzybell using Basic Black ink and then colored the entire image using my Watercolor Crayons and a blender pen.  I brushed Elmer's glue on the water and added some old Perwinkle glitter.  I also added gold to the frog's crown using my Copic Spica gold glitter pen.  The sentiment is also from the Elzybells line and was stamped using lavender chalk ink from Colorbox.  The little heart stickers I have had for quite some time but can't remember who they are by.  I kept this one simple as you can see.

I hope you all have a great day and I will be posting again shortly!

Cosmo Cricket Challenge....

Good Morning!!!
Lindsey and I have talked about doing a card challenge together using a product from her store for quite some time and finally, we were able to coordinate our schedules and do the challenge!!!  I love Cosmo Cricket paper and the colors in this paper are fantastic!!!  I was in the process of looking for a dress template to make up for the Little Old Man card I made the other day using the 2-Scoops paper.  I didn't want you guys to be completely turned off by that paper because of Grandpa so I thought I would make something cute with it!!!  I haven't finished my "cute" card yet so you will have to wait on that one!  Lindsey does have a couple of the kits left so if you are interested, you can find them HERE!   OK, so while looking for the dress template, I found a cowboy boot template!!!  I HAD to use it because Lindsey LOVES cowboys ~ oh I mean cowboy boots!!! LOL!!!
Img_1669_edited1

Our challenge to each other was to use Cosmo Cricket's Dutch Girl ~ Sophie paper which can be found HERE.   The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock.  I found the boot template HERE.   Be sure to check that site out, it is awesome!!!  This was a REALLY simple card, obviously!!!  I stamped the heel using Basic Black ink and my Weathered background stamp to add some lines like a boot has.  I then sponged with Chocolate Chip ink to feather it a little bit.  I then did my faux stitching using my white gel pen.  I got a little carried away with the stitching because really, I shouldn't have stitched down the front but it's too late now!!!  The pewter decorative brad is from Making Memories and the top loop is the same Cosmo paper, punched using my word window punch, folded in half and then I faux stitched that too!!!

I did another card too!  The Sophie paper is 2-sided so I used both sides on the following card ~
Img_1679_edited1

The base of my card is Real Red, a thin mat of Whisper White and then the back of the decorative Sophie paper.  The photo corners were punched from the front decorative blue portion.  I pierced around the entire card and faux stitched using my white gel pen.  I added SU! pewter brads to each corner.  The focal image is the decorative paper on top of Real Red cardstock.  I added the large pewter brads and then wrapped natural hemp through them and then tied a bow using the ribbon Michelle sent me!  The star is chipboard which I covered with just the blue portion of the Sophie paper using a glue stick.  I stamped the image from Wanted using Warm Red from Colorbox, sanded the edges, sponged White craft ink, added the Making Memories decorative brad and mounted it on the card using dimensionals.  The make a wish sentiment is from Elzybells.

Now, hop on over to Lindsey's blog and check out what awesome card she made!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Featured Stamper #51 ~ Pam Varnell

My card this morning is based on yesterday's Featured Stamper Challenge #51 at SCS.  The featured stamper this week is Stamping Pam AKA ~ Pam Varnell.  Pam's gallery is packed full of awesome inspiration so it was difficult to choose!  The card I finally decided to CASE is HERE.    I changed everything but the layout.
Img_1668_edited1

The base of my card is Real Red with a mat of Basic Black cardstock.  The next mat is some Valentine paper I have had for quite some time from KI Memories.  The back side of this paper is the small black and white polka dot paper I also used!  I used my ticket corner punch for all 4 corners and added the CUTEST heart stickers from K&Company that my friend Jennifer sent me ~ thanks Jen, they match my giraffe colors perfectly!!!  I used the same hearts from this set on the corner of the giraffe piece as well.  I added the black and white polka dot paper and then some beautiful ribbon I received as a gift from Michelle at Stampers Dream.   Thanks Michelle ~ it is awesome!

The focal image is the giraffe from Gina K's new stamps called Just So Hippy and can be found in Michelle's store.  I stamped the giraffe using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I then colored her body (not the hearts) using my watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  I colored the hearts using my Real Red and Pink Passion markers.  I accented the hearts with my Copic Clear Spica glitter pen.  Because my giraffe was so tall, I had to use my hobby blade to cut around her foot in order to get the black photo corner in there.  I then used my Quickie glue pen to glue her foot down on top of the photo corner (punched from my SU! punch).  I stamped the balloon and sentiment from the same set on Whisper White using Basic Black ink and cut it out.  I colored it in using my Real Red marker and added the same Copic glitter on top.  I used black embroidery thread (1 strand) to "tie" my balloon on.  I wrapped the thread around the base of the balloon and used Scotch tape to tape the thread around the back.  I then taped a long strand on the back and figured how long I wanted it in order to reach the tail and then used the Quickie glue again to adhere the strand on top of the tail.  I took a separate piece of thread, made a bow and then glued it on with a small dot of Elmer's glue.  The giraffe piece was matted first with Real Red cardstock, then the black and white polka dot KI Memories paper and then a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  This was mounted on the front using dimensionals.

This set has a CUTE hippo as well!  I can't wait to use it!  I have a question.  I noticed on other blogs that the writer adds the broken down recipe of what was used on the card or whatever the project is, at the bottom of their post.  What are your thoughts?  Is it confusing the way I type out my instructions and what I use?  Maybe it would be better if I did include the recipe so then if you don't want to read my ramblings, you don't have to!!! LOL!!!   Let me know what you think!!!

Thanks again for stopping by!!!

This is gonna Crack you up!!!

I swear, I was giggling the who time I was making this card!!  The humor in these stamps is so ME!!!  The stamp set is by Gina K. and is called ~ You Know Your Old When.....".  I bought the set from Michelle at Stampers Dream and the direct link can be found HERE!   The base of my card is Not Quite Navy cardstock and is 4 1/4" square ~
Img_8847_edited1

This actually was a very simple card with the exception of the paper piecing on Grandpa's suit!!!  I used my Basic Grey, 2-Scoops paper for his jacket, tie, pants and party hat!  The plaid for the jacket just cracked me up.  You all KNOW there is someone in your family that dressed like this!!!  I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I colored the other areas of Grandpa using my watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  I tried my hand at shading by using my blender pen and a little Going Gray Watercolor crayon along the outside edges of Grandpa.  I also shaded the floor gray.  I added Diamond Stickles to the top of the party hat, the blower and the ribbon on the gift.  I also colored Grandpa's hair with gray and then added White Fun Flock using my Quickie Glue pen.  It looks so cute!!!  I matted the focal image with Regal Rose cardstock and then the polka dot 2-Scoops paper.  I used my paper piercer and mat and pierced around the entire piece and then added eyelets to all 4 corners.  I used my SU! scallop punch to punch from Celery cardstock and then used my 1 3/8" circle punch and punch from the decorative plaid paper and then I stamped the sentiment on the yellow Basic Grey 2-Scoops paper using Basic Black and punched it out using my 1 1/4" circle punch.  I also stamped the teeth from the stamp set using Regal Rose under the sentiment.

Here is a close up which will show you the flock and paper piecing!
Img_8855_edited1

This set has so many cute sayings and I look forward to using it more!!!  I got my 2-Scoops paper from Lindsey although she is currently out BUT, lucky for you she does have a really cool kit she put together that does include the 2-Scoops paper!!!  The paper is really pretty so don't let the thought of Grandpa's jacket deter you!!!  Her kit is HERE and is on sale through tonight (12pm Pacific time) for $16.50 (regularly $22) and she only has 4 left so if you want one, you might want to get on over there!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and I have more projects to show you tomorrow!  I have had a blast using my Fun Flock!!!  Have a great night!

CPS Challenge #48 ~ One of a Kind.....

Hi!!!!
I was totally inspired for the colors of my next card by a comforter set I saw at Kohl's.  It was by Vera Wang and was SO beautiful!!!  I made a mental note that I needed to do a card one day using those colors and today was that day!  This card sketch is based on this weeks CPS sketch challenge.  The base of my card is 5 1/2" square and is Basic Gray cardstock.
Img_1637_edited1

The next mat is first Going Gray and then Barely Banana.  The Banana piece was stamped using Going Gray ink and the flourish from Kind Thoughts.  The strip on the side was stamped using the same ink and stamp on Banana and then matted with Going Gray.  I lined the flourish on the side strip up and adhered it on the card.

For the focal image piece I stamped the butterfly from Kind Thoughts on the Whisper White cardstock using Basic Gray ink.  I stamped it again on Banana using the same ink.  I cut the wings of this butterfly out, bent up the edges and used Elmer's glue to adhere the wings.  The bling swirl is by Prima and I bought it HERE.    I a little of the bling off to have it fit and then used 3 of the little crystals on the top flourish and to dot the I on kind.  The one of a kind rubon is from SU!'s Cherished Memories.  I added the Prima flowers using some white brads I had in my stash!!!  Before I added my brads I mounted this piece on first Going Gray cardstock and then Basic Gray cardstock.  I used dimensionals to adhere it to the front.

Before I go, i want to do a little enabling!!!!  At Mothers & Daughters Creations, Tamara is getting a shipment (supposed to be tomorrow!!!) of some BRAND NEW Imaginisce stamps and paper!!!  OMG, it is so cute and the stamps are ONLY a $1!   Here are 2 of the cutest images ~

SCS ~ Sketch and Color Challenge.....

Hi Again!
I LOVE the colors for this weeks color challenge and I am sure you will too!!!  The colors are Red, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.  If you get a chance, check out the gallery for this challenge ~ HERE.   The layout is from todays sketch challenge HERE.
Img_1631_edited1

The base of my card is Soft Sky with the first layer from the bottom up ~ Blue Bayou (I used scalloped scissors for the bottom of this piece), then Whisper White and then Cosmo Cricket ~ Dutch Girl decorative paper (I got this from Lindsey but it is currently out of stock.  BTW, she is having a big sale in her store so be sure to check it out!).  The 3 panels on the front are first, from the bottom up, Soft Sky cardstock, Blue Bayou cardstock and then Whisper White in which I stamped the sprig from the Always set using Blue Bayou ink.  I stamped it a couple of times to get the lighter effect.  I actually stamped this before I cut it apart.

The focal image was done like this ~ I will start from the top and work down ~ I stamped the bird legs using Blue Bayou ink on Vellum cardstock.  I then stamped the sprigs on a piece of Whisper White cardstock which is the same size as the vellum rectangle.  I stamped the sprigs a couple times like I did before to vary the color.  I then made a Whisper White mat for the bird and sprigs and the final mat I made using my Nestibilites rectangle die and Soft Sky designer series polka dot paper.  I stamped the bird from Always on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out WITHOUT the legs!!!  I then adhered him on top of the legs I had stamped earlier on the cardstock vellum.  I used my ticket corner punch on all four corners of the small Whisper White mat and then added red crystals from MAMBI.  I also added these crystals, but smaller, on the birds body.  I mounted this on the front using dimensionals.

I really felt like I should add ribbon to this because I don't usually make a card that doesn't have ribbon!!!  I like how it turned out though and hope you do too!!!  Thanks again for stopping by and I will do some more rambling tomorrow!!!!

An Elegant All Occasion Card....

Hi!
I hope you are all having a great day!  I am since today I get to iron and clean toilets!!! LOL!!!  I know, I am SOOOO lucky!!!  Please, don't be jealous, maybe some day you too can live like a princess like me!!!  If you need any tips on landing a prince, let me know!!!! LOL!!!!

I really like this card.  I was totally inspired by a Card Creations magazine (can't remember which one) that had a card like this in it so I can't take credit!!!
Img_1622_edited1

The base of my card is textured Vanilla cardstock.  The beautiful decorative paper on the top is by Prima and is actually the back of the red and black flourished paper I used HERE.  You can purchase this paper HERE.  This color coordinates perfectly with Old Olive which is what color the satin ribbon on top of the vanilla lace is.  The satin ribbon is SU! ribbon orginals Theater pack and the lace is from Rusty Pickle.  I actually adhered the ribbon with glue dots under the heart.  I stamped the heart from the new Always by SU! set on THIS Prima paper using a Versamark and then heat embossing using white detail embossing powder.  I then cut the heart out, added a coordinating Prima flower, you can find HERE, added a crystal swirl, which I cut from a HUGE assortment of swirls, which are also by Prima and you can find them HERE.  The last step was to add the pearl & silver brad from Imaginisce to the flower and then add dimensionals on the back and slap it on!!!  SUPAH easy!!!  Oh, and then I stamped my sentiment from Warm Words using my Colorbox Chalk ink.  There ya go ~ SIMPLE!!!

I have to go finish my chores before my EVIL step mother shows up (I hope she stays long enough to make dinner) but I will be back later to post my card for todays sketch challenge at SCS so stand by......

Herd It's Your Birthday!!!

Maybe it isn't YOUR birthday but I am sure it is someone's birthday!!!!  I won't waste any of your time rambling on today and will go right to my card!!!
Img_1615_edited1

The size of this card is 5 1/2" square.  The layout is based on Cindy's MFTSC14.  The base of my card is Brilliant Blue which is a color I NEVER use but with these new Jersey Shore decorative papers, I have new found "like" not love, of the color!!!  The first mat is Pumpkin Pie cardstock in which I first stamped my sentiment from MFT ~ Punny Farm set using Brilliant Blue ink.  I then used my Cuttlebug ~ spots & dots embossing folder on the lower part of my Pumpkin paper.  The striped paper is from the Jersey Shore decorative paper pack (SU!) and matted using Wild Wasabi cardstock.  Actually, all of the decorative paper is from the Jersey Shore pack.   The Brilliant Blue polka dot strip under the cows is matted on Whisper White cardstock and the ribbon is the new SU! striped Pumpkin grosgrain ribbon.  To do the focal piece, I used the Cows from the Punny Farm set and the flowers and stems are from the Boho Blossom set.

I first stamped the cow on the left using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the cow again on scrap typing paper, cut it out and laid it on top of my first cow.  I then stamped the middle cow up and over the first masked cow.  I then stamped the third cow.  I colored the cows spots with my Copic ~ Spica ~ black glitter pen.  I used a blender pen and Wild Wasabi ink pad to color the stems on the flowers in the cows mouths.  I colored each flower either Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Brilliant Blue using my markers.  I then went over them with my Copic ~ Spica ~ clear glitter pen.  The flowers and stems are in the Boho Blossom set.  The stem is actually longer but what I did was ink it up on the edge of the Wild Wasabi ink pad leaving a little of the top part off the ink pad because it would have been too long.  I then stamped the flowers with Pumpkin, Brilliant Blue and Bashful Blue ink.  I added clear Heidi Swapp crystals to the center of each flower.   I colored the "grass" using a blender pen and Wild Wasabi & Creamy Caramel ink pads.  I punched the balloon using my Quickutz die and tied orange string for the balloon string.  I mounted this on the front of the card using dimensionals.

I have lots more stuff I am working on so I need to get busy!!!  Thanks for stopping by!
