I'm back with a card!!!

Hi Again!
I don't know if you had a chance to stop by Laura's (this weeks featured stamper) gallery but if you haven't, you really should.  Oh my gosh, she has so many beautiful cards and with that said, I HAD to CASE another one!!!  The reason I HAD to CASE another one is because her cards ROCK and because I have so many projects going on right now, I don't have ANY original thought!!! LOL!!!  I REALLY like the layout of the card I chose to CASE HERE.
Img_2351_edited1

Pretty much everything I used on this card, I got in Lindsey's store!  I forgot to remind you guys the other day about Lindsey's Design Team Call!   There is no limit to the number of cards you can submit so what are you waiting for????  The deadline for submissions is April 25th!

Oh my gosh, this new Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste line is BEAUTIFUL!  I love all of the paper in the pack and will have to get another one!!!  Lindsey only has 1 left and I WAS going to order it but won't.....just yet!!! LOL!!!  Anyway, the base of my card is Soft Sky and is 5 1/4" square.  The next layer is Basic Black and then the beautiful Cosmo paper.  The strip in the center is a mat of Basic Black and then Whisper White which I ran through my Cuttlebug using my Birds & Swirls embossing folder.  The black scalloped ribbon was some I got from Lindsey some time ago.  The vertical floral piece is the SAME as the first Cosmo layer but on this strip I added some Daisy D's white rubons that I have had for quite some time.  I LOVE how it turned out!  I matted this with first Basic Black and then Soft Sky.  I added 3 MAMBI Clear Crystals at the top as well as around the Basic Black scallop.  I added a 1 1/4" Whisper White circle on top of the scallop and then free hand paper pierced.  Oh, when I tied the bow, I used my horizontal slot punch and pulled the right side of the ribbon up through the slot and then tied it.

The last step was to stamp my beautiful Inkadinkado Birds on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I did use my rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss the edge of this piece.  I then stamped the flowers on the branch on a Whisper White scrap, colored them with my blender pen and Soft Sky ink pad and then cut them out and mounted them using my Quickie Glue Pen.   I did add a little Stardust Stickles on the flowers just because!!!!  I colored my birds with my Prismacolor pencils and Mineral Spirits.  I did paper pierce around all four corners on the first layer and on the vertical strip.

I'm not going to have time to type the recipe ~ sorry.  I have to sew the pillow I am making for Mary's class auction project.  I am no Martha Stewart (I know, this is a shock to many of you) but the pillow has turned out really cute!  I will share it with you once I sew it closed!  Hopefully I won't ruin it....  Heather, if you are reading this, I may need you tomorrow!!!! LOL!!!

Thanks again for stopping by!!!

Figgy Pudding Christmas....

Don't worry, I am not going to post a Christmas card!  I actually finished a couple of scrapbook pages from last Christmas.  This Friday, my kids school is having their annual auction and I have donated a custom made, 12x12 scrapbook so I needed to have some new pages to display.  It works out great because I have tons of scrapbooking to catch up on!!!!  Last year it went for $350!!!  I was so excited.  Hopefully it will go for more this time!!!!  Now, I do know most of you really don't care about scrapbook pages so I do have a card to upload next!!!!
Img_2339_edited1

This is page 1.  For this page I used all Basic Grey Figgy Pudding decorative papers.  Oh my gosh, I love the papers!  What I did was take a number of the patterns and cut them with my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter.  It was really easy and then all I did was layer the wavy pieces, 1 on top of the other.  This is a great way to use scraps as well ~ hence the name Scrapbooking!!!  LOL!!!  The red cardstock is from Bazzill.  The 2007 is from the 12x12 Figgy paper pack I had bought from Lindsey some time ago.  The snowflakes on this page are Basic Grey undressed chipboard and the sheet of stickers.  Lindsey still has these in her store and hopefully when it gets closer to Christmas, she will get the paper again.  The chipboard is HERE and the stickers are HERE.   I used the snowflake chipboard and sticker (like the one up on the top on my page) on a ornament box last year.  The box is HERE.   I used red Heidi Swapp bling along the bottom of the page.  I used Stardust Stickles to highlight all of the snowflakes.  I was so proud because I actually tilted the bottom pictures!!!  I NEVER do that!  I do everything straight so this was quite a moment!!! LOL!!!  Here is page 2 ~
Img_2337_edited1

Basically, this page was done with a base of the Figgy snowflake paper and I did the wavy cut on the polka dot Figgy paper and Teal blue Bazzill cardstock.  I added the red Heidi Swapp bling on the Teal wavy piece.  The 2 larger snowflakes are the same as above but for this I added some extra snowflakes that I punched from the Figgy paper.  They are held down with silver glitter brads from Making Memories.  I mounted the pictures on the white Figgy paper and then red Bazzill cardstock.  I did my journaling on vellum paper which I printed from my computer.  These were actually very simple because the papers are so great together, not much thinking involved, which is a good thing!!!!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  I will be back shortly (have to get the kids ready for bed) and will post my card so stay tuned!!!!!

Featured Stamper #60 ~ Laura ~ ScrapNExtras!!!

Good Morning!!!
I am so excited that Laura is today's SCS Featured Stamper!!!  I have been a fan of Laura's work for some time so let me tell you, it was really hard to choose just one card to CASE!!!!  I will definitely CASE more but wanted to at least get 1 card in for now.  I just received some new goodies from Lindsey the other day and was so excited to use some of them!  Anyway, my card is based on Laura's card HERE!   As usual, I changed everything except the layout.
Img_2314_edited1

OK, the base of my card is Basic Black.  The Orangey (is this a word??) color paper with the scallops and the thin line at the top is actually Apricot Appeal.  I sponged it with Creamy Caramel ink to tone it down a little bit!  The scallop is from my Martha Stewart embossing punch.  I added Whisper White cardstock under the scallops so the "flowers" would show up more.  The rhinestones are from MAMBI ~ Poppy self adhesive rhinestones.  The dots on the top were done with my white gel pen.  The AWESOME decorative paper is from Cosmo Crickett ~ Fleuriste line.  Oh my gosh, this paper pack is so beautiful.  I love all of the patterns.  I was able to color my Inkadinkado Poppies the same colors as the paper.  I don't know if Poppies of this color really exist in real life but the do exist on my card!!!  I grew up in California and thought there were only Orange Poppies but when I checked on line, I saw there are TONS of colors of Poppies!  I colored them using my Prismacolor Pencils and Mineral Spirits.  I combined 4 of the pencil colors to get them to match the paper.  Have I mentioned that I LOVE these pencils????  LOL!!!!  As usual, I added clear micro beads to the centers of the flowers.  I love the dimension the beads give!!  On Laura's card she doodled around her image.  I did not doodle because I didn't want to chance messing up my flowers!!! LOL!!!  The Poppies are mounted on Basic Black cardstock.  I used my Daisy D's Victorian Rub~On tape around my image.  I then punched with my horizontal slot punch, ran my May Arts ~ Black & White polka dot ribbon through and tied a knot and mounted the image on the front of the card using dimensionals.  The last thing I did was to add my Love & Happiness SU! white rubon to the bottom of the card.

Stamps ~ Inkadinkado Poppies    Paper ~ Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Basic Black, Cosmo Cricket ~ Fleuriste decorative papers   Ink ~ Basic Black   Other ~ Love & Happiness Rubons, Black & White May Arts ribbon, Me & My Big Ideas Poppy rhinestones, clear micro~beads, Quickie Glue Pen, Horizontal slot punch, dimensionals, Prismacolor Pencils, Mineral Spirits, Daisy D's Victorian rub~ons, white gel pen, Martha Stewart scallop embossing punch

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Has it really been 3 days since I last posted???

Sorry about the delay in posting but boy has it been busy around here!!!  I have been working on this card I am about to show you since Wednesday!!  The card is based on Tuesday's Color Challenge and Wednesday's Sketch Challenge ~
Img_2301_edited1

The colors to use where Soft Sky, Basic Gray and Whisper White.  The base of my card is Basic Gray with a mat of Soft Sky.  On the Soft Sky piece I first stamped using my SU! Floral background stamp and Soft Sky ink.  On top of the floral images I stamped using my French Script background stamp and Basic Gray ink.  The next layer is first Basic Gray cardstock and then Whisper White which was run through my Cuttlebug using the Birds and Swirls embossing folder.  The small strip under the flower is first Soft Sky which I cut using my scalloped scissors with a strip of Whisper White cardstock and then Basic Gray Taffeta.  The flower and bee are from Bloomin' Beautiful and were stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Gray ink.   I cut it out using the "out of the box" technique.  The images were colored with my Soft Sky, Basic Gray and Mellow Moss ink pads and a blender pen.  I stamped the top of the flower on vellum paper with the Basic Gray ink pad, let it dry and then cut it out.  I used my Quickie glue pen to glue it on top of the flower which was stamped first.  I added Star Dust Stickles to the centers of the flower and the wings of the bee.  I mounted this piece on Soft Sky cardstock.  I then used my horizontal slot punch to the side of the stem and then added my ribbon through it and tied a knot.  I mounted the image piece on the front using dimensionals.  The last thing I did was again use my Quickie glue pen and add 2 clear Dew Drops to the top and bottom sides of the white embossed panel using my Quickie glue pen.

Stamps ~  Bloomin' Beautiful, French Script and Floral Background     Ink ~ Basic Gray, Soft Sky and Mellow Moss     Paper ~  Whisper White, Soft Sky, Vellum and Basic Gray   Other ~ Cuttlebug, Birds & Swirls embossing folder, Basic Gray Taffeta, scalloped decorative scissors, dimensionals, Poinsettia Dew Drops, Quickie Glue Pen, Horizontal Slot punch, Stardust Stickles, Blender pen

Thank you for being patient with me!  There is a lot going on at my kids' school lately and next week will most likely be just as busy but I will do my best to post often!  Have a great night!

Woohoo ~ Lindsey's BACK and She's Stamping!!!!

FINALLY, Lindsey is settled in to her new house and is stamping again!!!  We started out doing a specific challenge and then decided to do whatever we wanted using products from her store!!!  Here is my card ~
Img_2213_edited1

The base of my card is Celery even though you can't see it!  The decorative papers are all Basic Grey from their Pheobe Collection.  The brownish black paper on the entire front of the card is from the collection as well.  The ribbon is May Arts Ruffled Brown and the black & white polka dot ribbon is from Michael's.  Under the floral paper I cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock with my scalloped scissors.  Between the scallops and the decorative paper I used the NEW Daisy D's Rubon Tape.   This is so awesome and so easy.  I will show you a close up of it in a minute.  There are other styles to choose from.  Anyway, the image is from Inkadinkado which was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I then punched the image out using my Marvy Giga Scallop punch.  Now, when I check this morning to make sure Lindsey still had this stamp in her store, it was there.   Well, it isn't there now!!!  Someone must have bought it before I was able to show them my AWESOME card!!!!  I added Me and My Big Ideas Crystals to the centers of my flowers.  I used a celery green color and a pink.  The 2 larger flowers were stamped again on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock and then I cut them out, colored them with my Prismacolor Pencils and adhered them using dimensionals.  The butterfly was stamped on a transparency using Black Stazon ink.  After it dried, I cut it out and "painted" the back of the butterfly with Pink Flamingo Pearl Ex and Future Floor Wax.  I rolled up a glue dot and adhered the butterfly on top of the one that was stamped first.  I bent up the wings a little bit too!  I used this technique a few posts ago so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  I mounted the image on the front of the card using dimensionals and then added 3 crystals on the bottom of the card.

Meet Maria ~ Mothers & Daughters Creations Guest Designer!!!

Hello!!!
Back in January, Tamara, had a contest and the winner would get some free products and would get to be the Guest Designer for the Store for a month!  Well, Maria Levine won!!!   Congratulations Maria!!!  Well, the yesterday we decided to do a challenge based on yesterdays SCS  technique challenge which was a Flap Fold card.  The challenge also included to use ANY products from Mothers and Daughters Creations.   Well, that's not hard but it was hard trying to decide which products to use!!!  I settled on the stamps and paper from Memory Box.  Here is my card ~
Img_2202_edited1

The fold is the Flap Fold and complete instructions can be found at the link above.  This was really easy and fun to do!  The base of my card is Old Olive cardstock and the decorative papers are from Memory Box and is from their Sprout collection.  The paper already had some leaves and birds on it but I stamped using both Memory Box stamp sets Of a Feather and Vintage Garden.   I used the old SU! Colorbox Chalk ink for the swirl as well as the birds and sentiment.  I used my circle Nestabilities for the flap.  The crystals are from Prima and can be found HERE!   I used a Velcro dot to close my flap.  The fibers are some old ones I had and they matched perfectly!

Now, hop on over to Maria, Jennifer and Tamara's blogs to see what they came up with for our challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Lauren's Saturday Sketch Challenge ~ 3/22/08

I'm back!
My husband was home today so we had lots to do around here but I did get to squeeze in a little stamping time!  Luckily this was a really easy card to do.  The sketch is based on Lauren's Saturday Sketch and the BEAUTIFUL flower idea is from Lauren too!  You have got to check out her tutorial, it is fantastic!  Aren't you excited to see my flower!!!  I am excited to show you so here goes ~
Img_2198_edited1

The base of my card is pink Bazzill cardstock and can you believe it, that's it!!!  No more layers!!!  The white  rubons  along the top and down the side are from the Urban West SU! collection.  The way I did my flower was punching 2 flowers (Whale punch) from Whisper White cardstock and then I used a pink Prismacolor pencil and colored around the center and out the petals using Mineral Spirits and a blending stump.  I wrapped the petal around a pencil to make the edges come up.  I used my Quickutz to make the leaves from Celery cardstock.  The center pink and green flowers were punched from the new SU! 3 flower punch.  I added beautiful celery colored crystals and a flower center which is also celery.  I got the single self adhesive crystals from Lindsey and they are from Me and My Big Ideas.  The crystal center was also from Lindsey and is by Prima.   The crystals really are celery in real life!  The sentiment is Stem Sayings from SU!.  I stamped this using Celery ink and in real life, this really does match!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and don't forget about Lindsey's design team opportunity from my previous post HERE!

Stampers Dream ~ Thinking of You.....

My daughter and I are done coloring so I now can post my second card for you!!!  For this card I used an awesome Card Art stamp by Hero Arts which I bought from Michelle at Stampers Dream.   Here is my card ~
Img_2186_edited1

The base of this card is Lavender Lace with a mat of Bazzill Brown and then the same Rusty Pickle decorative paper I used on my previous card.  I used the same Bazzill Brown to mat the focal image which was stamped on Glossy White cardstock.  For this piece I used the same Ranger Alcohol Inks I used on my previous card HERE.  I layered the colors again lightest to darkest (Latte, Caramel and then Ginger).  You can see where I did not dab the Rubbing Alcohol but rubbed it so it left like smears but in real life it really isn't as noticeable ~ thank goodness!!!  I did not stamp on the glossy cardstock prior to using the Alcohol Inks but I did stamp after.  I used my Thinking of You Card Art stamp by Hero Arts and Timber Brown Stazon and stamped on top of the Glossy Cardstock.  I sponged the edges using the same Timber Brown ink and I added Hero Arts Lavender crystals to the centers of the 3 bottom flowers and to each corner of the Rusty Pickle paper.  I stamped the butterfly on a transparency using the Stazon Timber Brown ink and then cut it out and painted the back of it with the Misty Lavender Pearl Ex and Future Floor Wax.  After it dried, I bent the wing up a little and adhered it on top of the butterfly that had already been stamped using a rolled up glue dot.  Here is a close~up of the butterfly ~

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my cards!

A new technique!!!

Happy Easter ~ Again!!!
I hope you all are having a fun Holiday!  We worked around the house and ran some errands.  Of course these things were done AFTER Easter egg hunting this morning!!!

I have a new technique to show you today!  Now, don't get me wrong, this is a new technique to ME!  I am sure many of you have already done this but for those that haven't, it is really easy and fun!  It is along the lines of Polished Stone.  This card is my first try ~
Img_2168_edited1

The base of my card is Basic Black.  The next mat is some awesome decorative paper I had bought some time ago by Rusty Pickle.  The image is matted on Basic Black cardstock.  OK, now lets get to the image!  The first thing I did was to stamp the Starving Artistamp Daisy (18.02) on glossy cardstock using my Versamark.  I let this dry and then once the Versamark was dry I layered Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks lightest to darkest.  I started at the bottom of the images and added a few drops of Latte Alcohol Ink & a few drops of Alcohol Blending Solution and then wiped the color on to the glossy cardstock.  Latte was my lightest color and then my next darkest color was Caramel so I added a few drops of this color on to a new cotton ball.  With this color I started wiping about a 1/4 of the way up from the bottom and wiped the ink on the glossy cardstock all the way to the top.  The last color and my darkest is Ginger.  I used another cotton ball and wiped this ink starting around the center and going all the way to the top with this color.  The last step is to use another cotton ball and add some Alcohol Blending Solution to it and wipe from the bottom to the top to blend the colors and make it look more even.  I must say that the cotton ball leaves streaks so you might want to purchase the felt pads that are sold with the inks and blending solutions.  I am going to get some this week because I do think the look would be less streaked using the felt pads.

OK, the final step is to spray (you want larger drops ~ not a fine mist) Rubbing Alcohol on the image.  Let this sit for a minute and then dab with a tissue.  You can then polish the image piece with a clean piece of felt.

The sentiment is a Rubon from Basic Grey.  The flower centers are from Prima (they came in a can that had flowers & crystals) and they aren't really shiny but the color was perfect.  I used a glue dot to adhere them.

Now for how I did my butterflies!!!  I have done this technique before and love the look!  The BEAUTIFUL butterflies are from Starving Artistamps and can be found HERE (small freak p1.6).   I stamped the butterfly (2 times) on a transparency sheet using Black Stazon.  I also stamped the butterfly on the focal image piece using the Black Stazon.  I then cut out the 2 butterflies from the transparency.  Once the butterflies were cut out I turned them over and used Misty Lavender Pearl Ex, a paint brush and Future Floor Wax to color the butterfly.  Once the Pearl Ex & floor wax dried (I did do a couple of coats), I bent up the wings and adhered the butterflies using a glue dot.  That's it!  Here is a close up of the butterflies ~
Img_2171_edited1

Don't forget that until the end of the month (3/31), you can get a 10% discount from Starving Artistamps on your entire order by entering code ~ lyndadis at checkout.

I have another card to show you which I used this technique again but it will have to wait since my daughter is waiting for me to color with her!!!  Be back shortly!!!
