Hi!!!!
I just had NO time to stamp last week but I think things will slow down a bit now ~ hopefully!!!! It has been raining all day today so I got some cleaning done inside and got to finish a card that I had started last Wednesday!!! I also have some Starving Artistamps design work to get going on and will show you one of those cards next. Also, last week Rita ~ Rita's Little Corner bestowed on me the "you cheer me up award"!!!
How sweet is that?!!? Rita is ALWAYS that sweet!!! Thank you so much Rita!!! I so remember this episode from I Love Lucy. It was so funny! I would like to give this award to a few blogger friends that are ALWAYS so sweet to take the time to comment on my cards. I just want you all to know that you Make My Day when you do this!!! Thanks so much and here they are ~
Here is my card for last Wednesday's sketch challenge ~
The base of my card is Chocolate Chip and then a mat of a piece of some Afternoon Tea decorative paper. The strip across the middle is also decorative paper from the Afternoon Tea paper and then matted with Chocolate Chip cardstock. The ribbon is first wide satin Chocolate Chip ribbon as well as Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon. The strip down the side is first (from the bottom up) Chocolate Chip and then a floral striped pattern from the Afternoon Tea collection. I then used a thin mat of Groovy Guava and then Whisper White cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug using my Birds and Swirls embossing folder. The butterflies were actually stamped on the Whisper White cardstock using Groovy Guava ink BEFORE I ran it through the Cuttlebug. I stamped the butterflies again on vellum paper using Groovy Guava. Once they dried, I cut them out, bent up the wings and glued them on top of the original butterflies using my Quickie glue pen. Of course I had to add some bling so I added clear Heidi Swapp crystals to the centers of each butterfly and then again to the centers of each flower that is along the base on the strip where I used the same floral striped paper that is on the sides of this strip. I used my scalloped scissors to cut the bottom of the strip off. I HAD to do this because the embossing ran out and it looked funny so I had to make it look like I had PLANNED for this to happen!!! LOL!!! I wouldn't want you all to think that I might have screwed up!!! LOL!!!
I have to go lock up my kids and tuck the chickens in.... Oh, I mean lock up the chickens and tuck the children in!! LOL!!! I am totally kidding so really, there is no need to contact Social Services!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
