Hope your Sunday is going well! I have a quick card to share with you for today's featured stamper ~ Vicky Gould! I really wanted to use my new Penny Black stamp called Side by Side so I chose one of Vicky's beautiful cards that would work with the image. Of course it didn't work perfectly but the CASE isn't supposed to be exact RIGHT??? LOL!!! Anyway, the card of Vicky's I chose to CASE is HERE! Here is my card ~
I love chickens and Penny Black has some darling ones. The base of my card is Basic Black with a mat of Real Red and then a decorative piece of paper from Imaginisce (it is OLD...NO, not as old as me but OLD!!! LOL!!!). I image was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink. I colored using my Prismacolor pencils. The little flowers were punched from Summer Sun card stock and after I glued them down I added small, clear Martha Stewart crystals. I stamped the image again so I could cut out the frog and pop him up on dimensionals. I also added Opal Shimmerz to the frogs body. Here is a close up of the frog ~
I matted the image on Basic Black card stock that I ran through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I then matted that with Summer Sun, tied the red polka dot ribbon and used dimensionals to mount the entire piece on the front of the card. The last step, which I ALWAYS seem to screw up, was to stamp the sentiment. The "you're so sweet" sentiment is from Verve's Sweet Valentine set and was stamped directly on the decorative paper using Basic Black ink. I stamped the little heart from MY FAVORITE Verve set called Hearts on Fire using Basic Black ink on Real Red card stock, cut it out and mounted it using a little dimensional. That was it, see how simple?!?!?
Well, I better go whip up another gourmet meal for my family (yeah, they wish!!! LOL!!!). I'll see ya back here tomorrow! Have a great night!
