Hi!
I am such an idiot! This morning, I woke up thinking I heard the alarm go off and then looked over at the alarm (on my husbands side of the bed) and realized that it hadn't gone off but according to my eyes, it said it was 6:00a.m. and so it was due to go off very soon. I got up, turned the alarm off, put my contacts in, went down stairs and saw that the clock said 4:43! What the heck??? I really need a clock on my side of the bed since I cannot see that far ~ obviously!!! At that point I was wide awake anyway so I went ahead and put the coffee on and started on a card for today's sketch challenge! I should be ready for bed around 8 tonight!!! LOL!!! Here is my card ~
The base of this card is Soft Sky with a mat of Shimmery White card stock and then dark brown from Prism. The upper polka dot piece is by October Afternoon and can be found HERE! I matted it with first Shimmery White and then Baja Breeze card stock. The floral strip down the side is actually the back of the October Afternoon polka dot paper and was matted with Soft Sky card stock. The sentiment is from Verve's Artful Elegance set and was stamped on Soft Sky card stock using Chocolate Chip ink, punched out using my small oval punch and then adhered inside a vanilla oval frame. I then added the thin, off white satin ribbon.
I stamped the floral image on Shimmery White card stock using Chocolate Chip ink and then cut it out using my circle Nesties. I stamped the flowers and butterfly again on Shimmer White card stock, cut them out (just the 3 big flowers & the wings of the butterfly) and then colored the flowers with Prismacolor Pencils and the butterfly with a blender pen and Soft Sky & Baja Breeze ink pads. I added Pixie Dust Blingz Shimmerz on the butterfly wings and Sunflower Shimmerz on the flowers. I mounted the 3 flowers on top of the first stamped ones using dimensionals and to attach the butterfly wings, I used a glue dot. I added some Poppy rhinestones inside the piercing I did on the upper right and lower left corners. The centers of my 2 flowers look better in real life than my picture shows. I totally screwed up. I added Ivory Flower Soft to the centers and then didn't like it but it wouldn't come off so then I ripped the paper and then I got mad and then I added clear microbeads to try to fix it but some of the Flower Soft is still there so it looks weird but because I couldn't leave well enough alone, it was just going to have to stay. I always do that kind of stuff. Why can't I just leave it!!! Oh well, too late now!
Have a great day!
~Lynda
