Good Morning!
The snow days are over but Joey is home sick today...he can't possibly be sick of school since they haven't had any for 2 days now!!! LOL!!! Anyway, the card I am going to show you, I made last night. The challenge as SCS today is to make a card using Alcohol (Inks, rubbing, etc....). You MIGHT think that alcohol was not involved in the making of my card but let me assure you, while assembling this beauty, I drank 2 beers!!!!! YES, alcohol was definitely part of the crafting of this card!!! You can tell because if you look closely, my decorative flower paper is crooked!!!! LOL!!!
I think the mouse looks like he might have been drinking too much! See, there are LOTS of alcohol references on this card! The base of my card is Real Red cardstock which I used THIS Pierceability die to cut the front flap at an angle. I then cut a piece from THIS darling Imaginisce Twitterpated paper using the same die to create the decorative edge. I wrapped the red & white polka dot ribbon around the entire front flap and then tied a knot using a silver flower buckle from the SU! Silver Hodgepodge collection. The image is by Stampabilities (House-Mouse Designs) and is called Sleeping with Strawberries. I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink. I then colored using my Prismacolor pencils (of course!) and added Pixie Dust Shimmer to the parts of the strawberries that had bites taken out of them. I cut the bottom of the image with the same Pierceabilities die as well as the Basic Black mat under the image piece. I then added the Real Red strip just under the scalloped border and then added the "you're so Sweet" sentiment (this is from Verve's Sweet Valentine set and can be found HERE!) using Basic Black ink. I then mounted the image piece on the front using dimensionals.
Here is a picture of the inside ~
I added a Whisper White mat and then Twitterpated rub ons which coordinate with the DP. Can I just say I LOVE these colors?!?!? Can you tell I am ready for Spring????
Have a great day!
~Lynda
