IMG_3748_edited-1

The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock with a mat of decorative paper from Prima's Urban Cosmos Collection.  The next mat is first (bottom up) Certainly Celery cardstock and the next polka dot mat is from Bo Bunny and is called Chocolate Dot.  The next mat is first Chocolate Chip and then So Saffron cardstock.  I used my ticket corner punch on all 4 corners, ran gold cord around (I just used Scotch tape to adhere the pieces of the cord to the back) and then added some BEAUTIFUL self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Craft.  To adhere the ribbon, I punched a hole on the right side of the oval and then pulled the ribbon through and then ended back on the right side and then tied a knot.  The ribbon is from May Arts.   The focal image is from Inkadinkado and is called Duet (Lindsey will be getting more of these in next week).  I stamped the image using Chocolate Chip ink on Cryogen White Shimmery cardstock and then cut it out using my oval Nesties!!!  I made the frame by layering the scalloped die and smaller oval die (fit right inside the scalloped die), taped (Scotch) them on top of the Urban Cosmos decorative paper and then ran it through my Cuttlebug.  It cut and embossed the scalloped frame!!!  I then colored the birds using my Prismacolor Pencils, highlighted with my Copic Spica gold glitter pen, added my Prima Flowers and Kaiser Craft pearls to the centers of the flowers.  I used dimensionals to mount the oval on top of the Saffron piece.

Stamps ~  Inkadinkado ~ Duet  Paper ~  Cryogen White shimmery cardstock, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip & Certainly Celery cardstock and Prima ~ Urban Cosmos DP  Ink ~ Chocolate Chip  Other ~ Prima flowers, Kaiser Craft pearls, May Arts ribbon, dimensionals, ticket corner punch, gold cord, Prismacolor Pencils, Oval Nestabilities, Copic Spica Gold Glitter pen, Scotch tape,

Mothers and Daughters Creations ~ Black Magic Thursday!!!

Hi again!!!
Today's Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge was to use Core'Dinations Black Magic cardstock.  This cardstock is SO cool!  It has the texture of Bazzill and on one side is black and then there is another color on the back.  When you dry emboss it or just sand it on the black side, the color on the back will show through!!!  Very cool!!!  Here is my card ~

IMG_3744_edited-1

The base of my card is Whisper White cardstock with a mat of the green mint color which is the back of the Black Magic I chose to use!  The next layer is the front of the Black Magic which I ran through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I sanded the dots and then the mint color came through!  Here is a close up ~

IMG_3743_edited-1

The ribbon is from Micheal's and the floss is from Karen Foster.  I stamped the sentiment from Imaginisce on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink and then punched it with my key tag punch.  I added a silver eyelet and tied it on using the white floss.   The Penguin Dude is also from Imaginisce and can be found HERE!  I stamped him on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink and then cut him out.  I stamped him again on the back of the wave decorative paper which is included in THIS collection and then cut his shorts out and adhered them on top of the Whisper White penguin.  The front side of the paper is the wave pattern which I cut out and then layered 3 of the waves and then mounted them on the mint cardstock and then again on Whisper White cardstock.  I added Stardust Stickles to the dots on the penguins shorts as well as the waves.  I colored Penguin Dude using Groovy Guava and a blender pen for the ice cream, So Saffron for the beak and feet and Pretty in Pink chalk & a Q-tip for the cheeks.  I mounted him on the front using Pop Dots to have him set up higher than dimensionals would have done.

Be sure to check out what the Girls have done with their Black Magic!!!

SCS Ways to Use it and Sketch Challenge.........

Hi again!
Here is my card for todays Ways to Use it challenge at SCS.  The challenge was to use a bird stamp!  That's easy enough!  The layout is from yesterdays sketch challenge.  Here is my card ~
IMG_3585_edited-1 The base of my card is 5 1/4" square Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The next mat is Whisper White and then a pattern from SEI's new Dill Collection.  All of the decorative paper squares are also from the Dill paper collection.  I punched the patterned squares using my 1 1/4" square punch and then matted each one on Whisper White cardstock and then again on a brown from the Dill collection.  The focal image is from Inkadinkado and is called Three to a Tree.  I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink.  I then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I then punched a hole using my horizontal slot punch and then added wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.  I mounted this using dimensionals on top of the same brown that I matted all the squares on and then used dimensionals again and mounted both pieces on top of the Coral paper (also included in the Dill pack).

Just a quick announcement... This Saturday Our Creative Corner has a fun challenge planned PLUS some goodies to go along with it. Are you intrigued????  Be sure to stop by here or the OCC blog first thing Saturday morning!!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you all have a great day!

Mothers and Daughters Creations Thursday Challenge

Good Morning!
Today is our weekly Mothers and Daughters Creations design team challenge.  This weeks challenge was to go to Pagemaps, find a card sketch and make a card using it!!!  Because of my computer problems, I was not able to access Pagemaps but luckily I did have some sketches from them that I had printed back in March.  Here is my card ~
IMG_3565_edited-1 The base of my card is 5 1/4" square and is Cameo Coral carstock.  The next mat is Whisper White, then Basic Black.  The next mat is Bo Bunny decorative paper called Honeysuckle and is from their Organic line.  I the used my Fiskars border punch to punch a Whisper White mat.  The next mat in the center is Basic Black and then topped off with coordinating Bo Bunny cardstock.  The ribbon is also Bo Bunny and can be found HERE.  The sentiment is an old SU! set called Riveting and was stamped using Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock.  I punched the center flower out and popped it up in the center of the sentiment using a dimensional. I matted the sentiment on a Basic Black circle punched from my 1 3/8 circle punch.  The green crystal is from Targets $ spot and all of the black rhinestones are from Prima and can be found HERE

The focal image was stamped 2 times using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  The image is from Outlines and was colored using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I cut the center butterfly out of the second stamped image and first laid it on top of the second image, added the Bo Bunny rub on and then gently separated them and then mounted the first frame directly on top of the cardstock lined up with the rub on and then popped up the center butterfly using dimensionals.

Be sure to check out what awesome creations my team members have come up with!

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday!!!

Hopefully I can get this card uploaded!  Our internet connection is having issues today!  My card today is based on today's sketch challenge at SCS.  Here is my card ~
IMG_3545_edited-1 This was a really simple card and the colors are quite different than what I usually use.  The base of my card is Basic Black and then a mat of purple Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock.  The purple is actually the back of the front black piece of cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug.  I can't remember which folder this is but it is old!  I sanded the floral embossed parts and when I did that, the purple came through!!!  VERY cool!!  I will show you a close up at the end of this post.  The focal image is from Inkadinkado and was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and highlighted all of the birds using my Copic Spica Clear glitter pen.  I mounted the image piece on first Basic Black and cut it flush to the bottom of the birds.  I then mounted those on the same purple cardstock which I had punched using my Martha Stewart punch/embosser.  I then matted the entire thing on Basic Black cardstock and had it end just under the punched dots so the Basic Black cardstock would show through.  I added light blue MAMBI rhinestones and then mounted the entire focal piece using dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the awesome cardstock ~

IMG_3546_edited-1 I only have a sanding block so when I sanded, I did it carefully so I wouldn't sand the base of the cardstock so I couldn't do a really good job sanding the black off of the embossed images.  It does look pretty in real life though!!!

I hope to upload my challenge card for Mothers and Daughters Creations tomorrow ~ as long as Verizon cooperates!  Be sure to stop by!!!

No Swimming!!! ~ Featured Stamper #71 ~ Denise....

Hi!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day today!!!  I am assuming that the majority of you who are reading this are not Father's so I won't bother wishing you a Happy Father's Day!!! LOL!!!!

Here is my card that I made for today's Featured Stamper ~ Denise ~ AKA:  Denidill!IMG_3517_edited-1The card of Denise's that I chose to CASE is here!!  Her gallery is just awesome!  I changed everything except the layout ~ as usual!! LOL!!!

The base of my card is Basic Black.  The floral decorative paper is from Bo Bunny and is their new Beachy Keen line.  The polka dot cardstock is also from Bo Bunny and is called Decaf Dot.  The top scalloped edge is another Bo Bunny piece that is 2-sided cardstock and is called Ocean Dot.  I cut the Ocean Dot cardstock using my scalloped scissors and adhered it so the dots would not show ~ they are on the back and are basically like the Decaf Dot ones.  I used my Scor-pal to make a line at the top on the Basic Black cardstock and then added piercing along the entire top.  I also added piercing on the floral paper.  The focal image was first stamped on some old water paper I had using Basic Black ink and then cut out so the bottom of the duck was in the water.  I then stamped the duck, from Artful Inkables, on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I also stamped the duck on a piece of scrap copy paper and cut it out so I could use it as a mask when I stamped the Cattails!  I stamped the Cattails over the top of the masked duck using Basic Black ink as well.  I stamped the No Swimming sign on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and cut it out.  All of the stamps are by Artful Inkables.  I LOVE these stamps and haven't used them for ages!  BTW ~ I noticed when I went to link the store, Kristin is looking for design team members!  Her stamps are awesome so if you are interested, check out the Artful Inkables link above.

OK, on to the rest of my card!!!  I adhered the water down on top of the previously stamped duck.  I colored the duck, cattails and sign using my Prismacolor pencils.  I did add a little cream color pencil on the duck just to add a little color.  Did you REALLY think I wouldn't have used my Caramel Latte fun flock on the cattails!?!?!?  I adhered it on using my Quickie glue pen!  I also used my metallic silver pen for the nail on sign and I also added some Copic Spica clear glitter to duckies eyelashes.  The bottom hemp type ribbon is some old ribbon I had from Rusty Pickle and then I layered the black and white ribbon (Michael's) on top and then added a little Bo Bunny yellow polka dot to add some color!  I mounted the image on the front using Pop Dots and adhered the No Swimming sign using dimensionals.  The last thing I did was round the bottom corners using my Creative Memories corner rounder punch.

I do want to take a moment to thank those of you that did or will be taking part in our OCC (Our Creative Corner) first weekly challenge yesterday!!!  We had such a wonderful response and are so happy about it!!!  There are no time limits to play so if you missed it and would like to play, the link is HERE!  We will have a new challenge and samples for you next Saturday!!!  Also, the SCS keyword entry was changed to OCCC (Our Creative Corner Challenge).  There was already an OCC keyword gallery on SCS already so I think we are squared away now!!!  Thank you so much!!!

Have a great day!!!

Mothers and Daughters Creations Thursday ~ Welcome Baby.....

Good Morning!
Today is Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge Thursday!  Today we were to create a card using shades of Yellow, Blue and Green.  I chose to use the decorative papers from the Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake line.  I LOVE those papers and don't think they are just for Easter ~ not to mention I have lots of it and need to use some!!! LOL!!!
IMG_3427_edited-1 I just LOVE this little lamb from Serendipity Stamps.  This card has a bunch of layers so I will start from the bottom up!  The base is So Saffron and then a thin mat of Whisper White and then Celery and then LAST but not LEAST ~ Drapin' Daisies by Imaginisce.  I used my large oval punch to punch the Drapin' Daisies paper and then stamped the sentiment (from SU!) using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut a Celery mat to go around the sentiment freehand.  I embossed a small piece of Saffron cardstock and stuck it under the large oval opening.  I adhered the sentiment using dimensionals.

The strip across the middle is the decorative back side of the Drapin' Daisies paper and then a smaller strip of Whisper White and then the celery and saffron decorative ribbon from SU!  I added a daisy edge of Whisper White cardstock on top of the strip.  I used my Martha Stewart border punch for this.  I added Yellow Stickles to the centers of each of the embossed flowers.  This matches the glitter in the paper perfectly!  The focal image was stamped using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the 2 circles using my Nestabilities.  The bottom piece is Saffron and I embossed it with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I colored the images using Celery, Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue ink pads and a blender pen.  I colored the lamb before I added the White Flock using a light grey Prismacolor Pencil.  I also added the same Stickles to the centers of the flowers and then mounted the image on the front using dimensionals.

Be sure to check out what Jen, Maria and Tamara have made!!!

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Inkadinkado ~ Freebird.......

I lied on my previous post....  Our chicken, Cutie Patootie, DID leave a present on the tractor seat for my husband!!! LOL!!!! And, I didn't come right back and post my card!!!  Sorry about that ~ I got delayed due to my kids being home for the Summer, it being 100 degrees today and the swimming pool was calling our names!!!  Here is my card and don't forget to check back tomorrow because it is Jacksonbelle's Design Team ~ sketch challenge day!!!  You can play too!  I made this card a while back to submit for a publication.  Not sure yet if it was picked up so there is still a chance.....
IMG_3135_edited-1 copy The base of this card is Rose Red and the VERY cool decorative paper is from SEI and is called Dill Blossom.  I cut the wave using my Creative Memories wavy cutter and then just cut a small strip at the bottom.  I was trying to make this an EASY card and let me tell you, it was HARD!! LOL!!!  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado  (which was stamped on the DP using Chocolate Chip ink) as is the Freebird I stamped on the metal edged tag.  The bird was stamped directly on the tag in which I used my Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Rose Red markers.  I stamped the bird and flower again on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut them out.  I then mounted the bird with a dimensional on top of the first bird and then mounted the flower next to the sentiment using a piece of a dimensional.  I added MAMBI clear rhinestones to the centers of the 2 flowers.  The last step was to adhere the metal edge tag using dimensionals.  Actually, this was a really easy card and I hope you like it!

Have a wonderful evening!

Best Friend ~ Scrapbook Pages....

I know, many of you really don't care about scrapbooking but some of you might so I thought I would post a couple of pages I finished this weekend!  I have more to post but I will spare you and not post them today!! LOL!!!  For those of you who don't scrapbook, I have a card to share with you shortly!  I still need to do the journaling on my 2nd page but I made these pages to go in Mary's scrapbook.  I have already done some dog pages for Joey and definitely want Mary to have some too because Casper is definitely an important part of our family!!!
IMG_3394_edited-1 I just LOVE this picture of Cas.  Joey took it.  I could never get such a great picture because I try too hard to get the perfect picture.  Joey just snapped some pictures and ended up with this one!! LOL!!!  This was a really simple page.  The photo is an 8x10 mounted on Black Bazzill cardstock.  The decorative paper is from SEI and is their Park Buddies line.  I trimmed the Dog Run paper about 1/2" from the bottom and 1 side and then matted it on a piece of red Bazzill cardstock.  I used my Quickutz to punch Casper's name in which I used Basic Black cardstock.  I then ran the letters through my Xyron and stuck them on the page.  The Best Friends epoxy sticker can be found HERE.  It coordinates with the entire line.  I used a black brad to hold it in place and then tied some ribbon.

Here is the second page ~
IMG_3396_edited-1 I used another piece of the first decorative paper and cut the bottom off and matted it on a 12x12 piece of Black Bazzill cardstock.  I used the yellow gingham which I cut off of the top to mat two of my photos with and then used another striped piece and the same red Bazzill cardstock, to mat the journaling block ~ WHICH I have not journaled on yet!!!  The journal block is white Bazzill cardstock and I punched the paw (EK Success punch) and then added a small piece of black cardstock underneath so the paw would show up!  I added silver brads and May Arts polka dot ribbon as well as coordinating rub ons throughout the page.

Before I go, I have to share this picture with you.  It was so funny, Mary saw one of our chickens, Cutie Patootie, on our tractor.  Now, let me say, this isn't normal.  Chickens, at least our chickens, don't get up on top of things like the tractor.  I didn't think she would hang out long enough for me to get there with my camera but lucky for me she did!!  She cracks me up because she thinks she is a dog!   NONE of our other chickens have done the things Cutie has done.  This tractor is really high and there is nothing on there for her so I have no idea why she did this but it was funny!  She just does not know she is a chicken!!
IMG_3368 Thank goodness, she didn't leave a present for Chris on the seat!  That would have been REALLY funny!

Stay tuned as I will post my card later!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Casing MAREN and a MDC Challenge!!!

Let me start out by saying that I had something TOTALLY different to show you today but I screwed it up and NO you won't be seeing it for a long time!! LOL!!!  We spent all afternoon yesterday and a beach party and boy was it fun!!!  The parents that hosted the party took ALL of the kids tubing and they got to swim in the lake and pool.  A good time was definitely had by all of us!!!  That brings me to 9pm last night and my project for today's Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge which was to make something masculine.  I am not a night person but I already had my project planned so I figured it would go just fine and I'd be done in NO time!!!  I bought a Bare Elements Wine holder and wanted to use THIS paper to alter it.  I thought it would be SO cute!  I added my sticky strip to one side of the container, laid my paper on perfectly (for a change) and then opened the holder up so I could cut the excess paper off.....well.....the holder was upside down!!!  At that point I quit and will sand the paper off later and let me tell you when (or if) I do alter this thing at a later date, I will definitely check to make sure I have it right side up!  LOL!!!

I had breakfast with Tamara Wednesday morning and she brought me some of this awesome new paper she received from Paper Salon so I decided that I would use that paper and my most FAVORITE Mustang stamp!  The layout of my card is based on this weeks Featured Stamper ~ MAREN!!!!  Maren is a fellow design team member of Jacksonbelle Embellishments.  She is SO talented and SO deserving of this honor.  Here is my card based on Maren's card HERE ~
IMG_3337_edited-1 The base of my card is Whisper White.  The decorative papers are all from Paper Salons Star Spangled and is actually their new 4th of July line but I thought they were perfect for a masculine card.  I layered them on a piece of scrap cardstock.  The bottom polka dot cardstock is actually this NEW awesome cardstock called Core'dinations!  I will demonstrate how this cardstock is different next!  I ran the brown piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug using my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I then sanded the tops of the dots and with this cardstock, what that does in let the "core" of the paper show through and in the case of this brown, the core is a light brown.  I stamped my Mustang on Whisper White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink and cut it out using my Nestabilities.  The scallop mat is also from my Nestabilities.  I colored the mustang using my Prismacolor Pencils and I also added some gold Pearl Ex randomly (maybe if you click on the picture you can see it better) on the horse.  I used dimensionals to mount the horse on as well as the decorative papers below.  The ribbon is some I had got a Michael's some time ago.

Be sure to check out what Jennifer, Maria and Tamara did for this challenge!!!

Here is the recipe ~
Stamps ~ Serendipity Mustang;  Ink ~ Chocolate Chip;  Paper ~ Whisper White Cardstock, Brown Core'dinations cardstock, Paper Salon Star Spangled decorative paper;   Supplies ~ Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Nestabilities, Prismacolor Pencils, Ribbon ~ Michael's, dimensionals, Gold Pearl Ex

Here is some information on the Core'dinations cardstock!  It is really cool because it is sold with a band on the end which shows the color of the "core" of the cardstock.  Here is a picture of a Pink Passion color with a Pretty in Pink "core".
IMG_3344_edited-1 The cardstock has texture like Bazzill and is sold in packs of either 8 1/2 x 11 or 12x12 collections.  You get 20 sheets per pack and the 8 1/2 x 11 pack is $5.95 and the 12x12 pack is $9.25.  There are TONS of colors & collections to choose from!  Be sure to check it out HERE!  Here is a picture of the above piece I ran through my Cuttlebug using the diamonds embossing folder.  I sanded a portion so you can see the difference ~
IMG_3346_edited-1 Thank you for stopping by!  I am going to work on uploading my scrapbook pages from last weekend although since it is in the high 90's today, I am going to have to take the kids out to swim and with it being so hot, I will probably get in too so it will be a little later today so be sure to check back!
