Herd It's Your Birthday!!!

Maybe it isn't YOUR birthday but I am sure it is someone's birthday!!!!  I won't waste any of your time rambling on today and will go right to my card!!!

The size of this card is 5 1/2" square.  The layout is based on Cindy's MFTSC14.  The base of my card is Brilliant Blue which is a color I NEVER use but with these new Jersey Shore decorative papers, I have new found "like" not love, of the color!!!  The first mat is Pumpkin Pie cardstock in which I first stamped my sentiment from MFT ~ Punny Farm set using Brilliant Blue ink.  I then used my Cuttlebug ~ spots & dots embossing folder on the lower part of my Pumpkin paper.  The striped paper is from the Jersey Shore decorative paper pack (SU!) and matted using Wild Wasabi cardstock.  Actually, all of the decorative paper is from the Jersey Shore pack.   The Brilliant Blue polka dot strip under the cows is matted on Whisper White cardstock and the ribbon is the new SU! striped Pumpkin grosgrain ribbon.  To do the focal piece, I used the Cows from the Punny Farm set and the flowers and stems are from the Boho Blossom set.

I first stamped the cow on the left using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the cow again on scrap typing paper, cut it out and laid it on top of my first cow.  I then stamped the middle cow up and over the first masked cow.  I then stamped the third cow.  I colored the cows spots with my Copic ~ Spica ~ black glitter pen.  I used a blender pen and Wild Wasabi ink pad to color the stems on the flowers in the cows mouths.  I colored each flower either Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Brilliant Blue using my markers.  I then went over them with my Copic ~ Spica ~ clear glitter pen.  The flowers and stems are in the Boho Blossom set.  The stem is actually longer but what I did was ink it up on the edge of the Wild Wasabi ink pad leaving a little of the top part off the ink pad because it would have been too long.  I then stamped the flowers with Pumpkin, Brilliant Blue and Bashful Blue ink.  I added clear Heidi Swapp crystals to the center of each flower.   I colored the "grass" using a blender pen and Wild Wasabi & Creamy Caramel ink pads.  I punched the balloon using my Quickutz die and tied orange string for the balloon string.  I mounted this on the front of the card using dimensionals.

Featured Stamper ~ Veronica ~ Rain or Shine

Good Morning!
I actually finished this card last week but hadn't gotten around to posting it until now!!  Within the past 6 months, I have accumulated quite a few (no, I am not going to tell you how many because it is embarrassing!) acrylic stamps.  Now, don't get me wrong, they are all really nice stamps but the My Favorite Things stamps that I recently purchase from Michelle at Stampers Dream are fantastic!  The crispness of the stamped image is top quality.  For this card I used the Rain or Shine set ~

The layout of this card is based on last weeks featured stamper, Veronica.  I based my card on her card HERE.   I changed everything except the layout.  The base of my card is Basic Black.  All decorative papers and pink, blue and purple mats are from the Paper Salon line called Hip~Hip~Hooray.   The only SU! cardstock I used was Whisper White and Basic Black.  The next thin mat on top of the black card is light blue and is the backside of THIS paper.  I then have a mat of Whisper White in which I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder.  Before I ran the white through the Cuttlebug, I stamped the sentiment from the Rain or Shine set using Basic Black ink.  The next small floral mat is the front and back of THIS paper.  On top of the flower mat I first cut a piece of the striped coordinating paper and then the white ruffled ribbon (this is from Lindsey's store but is currently out of stock).  I then added a couple of Imaginisce flowers, first White and then a Pink Bow Blossom.  The focal image was stamped using Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock.  I colored using my watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  I stamped the image a couple times on the decorative papers so I could cut them out and adhere them to the coat, boots and dog sweater.  I stamped the umbrella on the purple decorative paper, cut it out and added white polka dots I punched from my 1/8" handheld punch, glued them on with my Quickie Glue pen (don't know how I lived without this for so long!!!).  After gluing them on, I then added Stardust Stickles.  I also added the Stickles to the centers of the flowers on her rain coat as well as the polka dots on her boots.  I then matted this image on Basic Black first and then pink from THIS paper.  I then adhered her to the front of my card using dimensionals as well as the umbrella.

Sometimes, you just gotta say.....

Because I am easily enabled, I now have purchase 3 My Favorite Things stamp sets!  I really like them and am looking forward to using them all!  On this card, I used the brand new, Punny Farm set which I bought from Michelle ~ HERE!   I also bought Boho Blossoms and Rain or Shine.   See what I mean, I have an illness!!!  LOL!!!

Let me tell you, I NEVER look like this when I muck stalls and clean the chicken coop!!!  I also don't carry cute little pails!!!  I usually have food (I think it was food because it WAS in the refrigerator) that I had been working on for a science project for my kids to give to the chickens!!! LOL!!!  The chickens LOVE these science projects!!!  I will show you a picture of my favorite chicken, Cutie Patootie!  She is like a dog and lets me pet her.  If I don't take her "treats", she will follow me back to the house and then of course I have to find something for her!!!!  She is as spoiled as the rest of our animals AND children!!! 
About this card ~ the base of my card is Celery and then a thin mat of Ruby Red and then a mat of Saffron which I stamped my Chicken Wire background on it using Silver Metallic ink.  I did this card based on Cindy's ~ MFTSC12 (this is a sketch challenge in the My Favorite Things forum on SCS).  Anyway, I had been wanting to play and now that I have the MFT stamps, I need to catch up!!!!  OK, the layer under the focal image is a mat of Ballet Blue and the decorative paper is by Frances Meyer.  The ribbon is first the celery from SU! ribbon originals ~ Fairy Tale and the Ruby ribbon is old SU! ribbon originals ~ can't remember the name....  The "Muck it" sentiment is from the Punny Farm set in which I used my Ruby Red marker to just highlight those letters, stamped it on Whisper White and punched it out using my word window punch.  The blue square brads are from Oriental Trading.

For the focal image, I first stamped the lady on Whisper White using Basic Brown ink and then I stamped the pig using the same ink.  I then stamped those 2 images again on scrap computer paper and cut them out.  I covered up the images and then stamped the chickens using the Basic Brown ink.  I colored the images with my Pretty in Pink, Saffron, Ruby Red, Ballet Blue and Celery ink pads and a blender pen.  I stamped the lady again on Saffron Designer Series paper and then cut out the hat (striped paper) and boots (polka dot paper) and then glued them on.  I printed the sentiment in the clouds on my computer and printed them on Whisper White cardstock.  Before I cut them out, I stamped using the cloud (from the Rain or Shine set) and Bashful Blue ink over the sentiments.  I then cut them out and mounted them.  I used dimensionals to mount this piece on the front of my card.
