Best Friend ~ Scrapbook Pages....

I know, many of you really don't care about scrapbooking but some of you might so I thought I would post a couple of pages I finished this weekend!  I have more to post but I will spare you and not post them today!! LOL!!!  For those of you who don't scrapbook, I have a card to share with you shortly!  I still need to do the journaling on my 2nd page but I made these pages to go in Mary's scrapbook.  I have already done some dog pages for Joey and definitely want Mary to have some too because Casper is definitely an important part of our family!!!
IMG_3394_edited-1 I just LOVE this picture of Cas.  Joey took it.  I could never get such a great picture because I try too hard to get the perfect picture.  Joey just snapped some pictures and ended up with this one!! LOL!!!  This was a really simple page.  The photo is an 8x10 mounted on Black Bazzill cardstock.  The decorative paper is from SEI and is their Park Buddies line.  I trimmed the Dog Run paper about 1/2" from the bottom and 1 side and then matted it on a piece of red Bazzill cardstock.  I used my Quickutz to punch Casper's name in which I used Basic Black cardstock.  I then ran the letters through my Xyron and stuck them on the page.  The Best Friends epoxy sticker can be found HERE.  It coordinates with the entire line.  I used a black brad to hold it in place and then tied some ribbon.

Here is the second page ~
IMG_3396_edited-1 I used another piece of the first decorative paper and cut the bottom off and matted it on a 12x12 piece of Black Bazzill cardstock.  I used the yellow gingham which I cut off of the top to mat two of my photos with and then used another striped piece and the same red Bazzill cardstock, to mat the journaling block ~ WHICH I have not journaled on yet!!!  The journal block is white Bazzill cardstock and I punched the paw (EK Success punch) and then added a small piece of black cardstock underneath so the paw would show up!  I added silver brads and May Arts polka dot ribbon as well as coordinating rub ons throughout the page.

Before I go, I have to share this picture with you.  It was so funny, Mary saw one of our chickens, Cutie Patootie, on our tractor.  Now, let me say, this isn't normal.  Chickens, at least our chickens, don't get up on top of things like the tractor.  I didn't think she would hang out long enough for me to get there with my camera but lucky for me she did!!  She cracks me up because she thinks she is a dog!   NONE of our other chickens have done the things Cutie has done.  This tractor is really high and there is nothing on there for her so I have no idea why she did this but it was funny!  She just does not know she is a chicken!!
IMG_3368 Thank goodness, she didn't leave a present for Chris on the seat!  That would have been REALLY funny!

Stay tuned as I will post my card later!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Figgy Pudding Christmas....

Don't worry, I am not going to post a Christmas card!  I actually finished a couple of scrapbook pages from last Christmas.  This Friday, my kids school is having their annual auction and I have donated a custom made, 12x12 scrapbook so I needed to have some new pages to display.  It works out great because I have tons of scrapbooking to catch up on!!!!  Last year it went for $350!!!  I was so excited.  Hopefully it will go for more this time!!!!  Now, I do know most of you really don't care about scrapbook pages so I do have a card to upload next!!!!
Img_2339_edited1

This is page 1.  For this page I used all Basic Grey Figgy Pudding decorative papers.  Oh my gosh, I love the papers!  What I did was take a number of the patterns and cut them with my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter.  It was really easy and then all I did was layer the wavy pieces, 1 on top of the other.  This is a great way to use scraps as well ~ hence the name Scrapbooking!!!  LOL!!!  The red cardstock is from Bazzill.  The 2007 is from the 12x12 Figgy paper pack I had bought from Lindsey some time ago.  The snowflakes on this page are Basic Grey undressed chipboard and the sheet of stickers.  Lindsey still has these in her store and hopefully when it gets closer to Christmas, she will get the paper again.  The chipboard is HERE and the stickers are HERE.   I used the snowflake chipboard and sticker (like the one up on the top on my page) on a ornament box last year.  The box is HERE.   I used red Heidi Swapp bling along the bottom of the page.  I used Stardust Stickles to highlight all of the snowflakes.  I was so proud because I actually tilted the bottom pictures!!!  I NEVER do that!  I do everything straight so this was quite a moment!!! LOL!!!  Here is page 2 ~

Basically, this page was done with a base of the Figgy snowflake paper and I did the wavy cut on the polka dot Figgy paper and Teal blue Bazzill cardstock.  I added the red Heidi Swapp bling on the Teal wavy piece.  The 2 larger snowflakes are the same as above but for this I added some extra snowflakes that I punched from the Figgy paper.  They are held down with silver glitter brads from Making Memories.  I mounted the pictures on the white Figgy paper and then red Bazzill cardstock.  I did my journaling on vellum paper which I printed from my computer.  These were actually very simple because the papers are so great together, not much thinking involved, which is a good thing!!!!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  I will be back shortly (have to get the kids ready for bed) and will post my card so stay tuned!!!!!

To Be Or NOT To Be......

I finished a couple of pages I had started just over a week ago.  I was so excited to finish these because I knew exactly what I wanted to do and the pages actually turned out like I had planned !!!!  Usually I have these grand plans and then they don't turn out like I had hoped and then I am disappointed and then I say bad words and then my whole day is ruined and then......  LOL!!!  Anyway, usually I don't journal this much because I don't have that much to say but the story about "Cutey Patootie" is funny so there was a lot to write about!!!  I couldn't even fit everything but there will be more about Cutey....

To make a long story short, last year my daughter's first grade class hatched some eggs.  Because we donated the eggs (we HAD roosters at the time), it was understood that if any hatched, we would take them home.  Well, only 1 egg hatched and boy was she active and strong!  The kids teacher let them all write a name down on piece of paper and picked the name out of a hat.  Well, Cutey Patootie it was!  The kids were so darned excited and Cutey just loved them and all of the attention she received.  She was sad to leave the classroom but we brought her home and showered "her" with attention (we had to because we had her in the basement and she would peep REALLY loud until someone would come pay attention to her).  Mary took her little piano down there and sang and played for her.   Anyway, the entire time we have had "her" we have been hoping that she is not a rooster.  We cannot keep roosters as they are so mean.  They attack the other hens as well as us!  I have a scar on my ankle from our first rooster Bob.

Cutey follows us around and actually comes when I call her.  I try to give her special treats when the other hens aren't around and she will jump up and down like a dog trying to get them!  As you can tell, we REALLY love her!  She now lives out in the coup with the other girls (and 1 Guinea named Oscar).  Anyway, we will cross our fingers and hope that she stays a SHE!!!!

This is page 1:

Of course my journaling is crooked.  It is not you and your eyesight, it is me and my ability to NEVER journal straight!!!!  The base cardstock is Ballet Blue.  I also used Celery and Really Rust SU! cardstock and Brown, Mustard and Winter White cardstock from Bazzill.  The decorative paper is Oh Baby Girl from Basic Grey and Frances Meyer ~ Passionnant.  I added Heidi Swapp bling to the 2 (SU! lots of letters chipboard) as well as the lower right circle.  The bling color is a yellow/orange.  The corners were punched from the SU! photo corner punch and layered and adhered using SU! Rust brads.  The 'be" is American Crafts foam letters.  I stamped the chicken feet (from Best of Cluck) using Timber Brown Stazon.  The font used on the right side of this page and the second page is Quickutz unicase Blossom.  I used my Xyron to stick the letters on.

Here is my second page:
Img_7293jpg1

For the fence and the tree trunk, I used my LSS's Sizzix (or something like it) to die cut them.  The grass is from my Quickutz, the wire mesh is from Making Memories and I made the tree "fluffs" by punching green Bazzill paper with a cloud punch.  I sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa and layered them for dimension.  I also used the Heidi Swapp bling on this page.  Mr. Rooster and Mrs. Chicken from Cornish Heritage Farms are so darn cute!  I stamped them using Basic Brown ink on watercolor paper and then colored them with my watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  I then cut them out and mounted them using dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the bottom part of the page (as you can see, I am very proud of that part!).
Img_7290jpg1

The chicken and rooster were really easy to cut out and were large in size as well.  Under the "we shall see" I used my paper piercer and made a little swirl.  I have no idea why I did that except I didn't want the letters to go straight across and thought I NEEDED something underneath to show that I WANTED the letters to go like that.  Now, with my track record, if I didn't put the little swirl underneath, some peeps (AKA ~ Smart Alec Friends (you know who you are!) would have thought I was getting old and THOUGHT that the letters were straight!!!  This was done on purpose!!!  I stamped the chicken feet from Best of Cluck using Timber Brown Stazon.

Today was my kids first day back at school.  Mary is starting Second grade and Joey is starting Fourth.  Mary was so excited because she could FINALLY wear her new school clothes!  Joey was excited but nervous too.  There are only 18 kids in his class and he knows ALL of them and has gone to the school for 2 years (this is his third) but he doesn't like NEW.  He does like NEW shoes, clothes, toys but a new teacher and classroom makes him a little nervous.....  Well, school is almost out and I need to go pick them up but wanted to post this first since I haven't posted for a few days!

Have a great day!

Completed ~ 2 Scrapbook Pages!!

I am so excited to have actually FINISHED 2 scrapbook pages (I still need to add the date)!  Now, remember, I was ONLY at the crop for 12 hours so I am sure you are thinking "How did she get SO many pages done".  Well, let me tell you, when you are as organized AND focused as me, it's easy!!!! LOL!!!!

The crop went great and it seemed as though everyone had a great time.  I know I did!  I started out by forgetting my little tool bag that had all of my hole punches, stamps, ink pads, adhesive, scissors ~ you know all the UNIMPORTANT things!!!  Instead of going home and getting it (at least an hour round trip), I just borrowed from my friends.  Here are the 2 12x12 pages ~
Img_7240jpg1_2

The cardstock I used is all Bazzill.  The scalloped heart is also Bazzill which I just cut it in half.  The decorative paper has paw prints on it and is newer dog paper.  I cut the tab with the name on it off and threw it away so I can't remember who the paper was by.  I'm sorry......  It is cute though!!!  The jewels are Heidi Swapp.  The heart around my son and dog are the same jewels from Heidi Swapp that I took off of the sticky strip (why would I want to make it simple) and glued them individually to make a heart.  Here is a close up of the SMOOCH!
Img_7229jpg1

The font for the "Gimme A" is Quickutz Star.  The "Smooch" is Making Memories Clears Alphabet.  The have adhesive on them so I stuck them on to red Bazzill cardstock and cut them out.

I did start on another page and hopefully will finish in the near future!  Can't make any promises as to when I will post though......

Before I close, I want to pass this blog on to you!  Nancy Riley at iSTAMP has some great pictures of her organized craft room!  She has some great storage ideas.  Now, I would have shown you mine but I don't think that would give you any help!  It may make you feel better though to know that someone else's space looks worse than yours!!!  Have a great day and don't forget to check back tonight when I will pick the winners of my blog candy!

I FINISHED my scrapbook pages!!!

I am a collector of paper.  Yes, I admit it, I have issues!  Since I am being honest, it isn't JUST paper I collect!  I collect ribbon, brads, flowers, rubons, basically ALL stamping/scrapbooking things!!  I got this paper about a month or so ago.  I LOVED it!  I had the pages planned differently in my mind than how they turned out but hey, I used the paper AND I got 2 pages done!  Actually, I got 4 pages done because I made 2 pages for my friend (her son and my son are friends).  Her pages are pretty much the same as mine EXCEPT, I thought she would rather have pictures of her son instead of mine!!!!

The supplies I used are as follows:

Paper:  Cap'n Jack by Rusty Pickle (LOVE THIS) and coordinating Bazill CS

Ink:  Black Stazon

Stamps:  Date stamp, Fancy Pants Pollen Dust (the black swirls are what I stamped.  The paper did not have the black flourishes but I thought it needed a little more!)

Misc:  Daisy D's rubons, label maker, Making Memories decorative and regular brads (antique copper), paper piercer & template, Cap'n Jack coordinating ribbon, dimensionals, hobby blade, Quickutz Revolution tab die.

Thanks for looking!
