Mothers and Daughters Creations Thursday ~ Welcome Baby.....

Good Morning!
Today is Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge Thursday!  Today we were to create a card using shades of Yellow, Blue and Green.  I chose to use the decorative papers from the Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake line.  I LOVE those papers and don't think they are just for Easter ~ not to mention I have lots of it and need to use some!!! LOL!!!
IMG_3427_edited-1 I just LOVE this little lamb from Serendipity Stamps.  This card has a bunch of layers so I will start from the bottom up!  The base is So Saffron and then a thin mat of Whisper White and then Celery and then LAST but not LEAST ~ Drapin' Daisies by Imaginisce.  I used my large oval punch to punch the Drapin' Daisies paper and then stamped the sentiment (from SU!) using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut a Celery mat to go around the sentiment freehand.  I embossed a small piece of Saffron cardstock and stuck it under the large oval opening.  I adhered the sentiment using dimensionals.

The strip across the middle is the decorative back side of the Drapin' Daisies paper and then a smaller strip of Whisper White and then the celery and saffron decorative ribbon from SU!  I added a daisy edge of Whisper White cardstock on top of the strip.  I used my Martha Stewart border punch for this.  I added Yellow Stickles to the centers of each of the embossed flowers.  This matches the glitter in the paper perfectly!  The focal image was stamped using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the 2 circles using my Nestabilities.  The bottom piece is Saffron and I embossed it with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I colored the images using Celery, Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue ink pads and a blender pen.  I colored the lamb before I added the White Flock using a light grey Prismacolor Pencil.  I also added the same Stickles to the centers of the flowers and then mounted the image on the front using dimensionals.

Be sure to check out what Jen, Maria and Tamara have made!!!

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Casing MAREN and a MDC Challenge!!!

Let me start out by saying that I had something TOTALLY different to show you today but I screwed it up and NO you won't be seeing it for a long time!! LOL!!!  We spent all afternoon yesterday and a beach party and boy was it fun!!!  The parents that hosted the party took ALL of the kids tubing and they got to swim in the lake and pool.  A good time was definitely had by all of us!!!  That brings me to 9pm last night and my project for today's Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge which was to make something masculine.  I am not a night person but I already had my project planned so I figured it would go just fine and I'd be done in NO time!!!  I bought a Bare Elements Wine holder and wanted to use THIS paper to alter it.  I thought it would be SO cute!  I added my sticky strip to one side of the container, laid my paper on perfectly (for a change) and then opened the holder up so I could cut the excess paper off.....well.....the holder was upside down!!!  At that point I quit and will sand the paper off later and let me tell you when (or if) I do alter this thing at a later date, I will definitely check to make sure I have it right side up!  LOL!!!

I had breakfast with Tamara Wednesday morning and she brought me some of this awesome new paper she received from Paper Salon so I decided that I would use that paper and my most FAVORITE Mustang stamp!  The layout of my card is based on this weeks Featured Stamper ~ MAREN!!!!  Maren is a fellow design team member of Jacksonbelle Embellishments.  She is SO talented and SO deserving of this honor.  Here is my card based on Maren's card HERE ~
IMG_3337_edited-1 The base of my card is Whisper White.  The decorative papers are all from Paper Salons Star Spangled and is actually their new 4th of July line but I thought they were perfect for a masculine card.  I layered them on a piece of scrap cardstock.  The bottom polka dot cardstock is actually this NEW awesome cardstock called Core'dinations!  I will demonstrate how this cardstock is different next!  I ran the brown piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug using my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I then sanded the tops of the dots and with this cardstock, what that does in let the "core" of the paper show through and in the case of this brown, the core is a light brown.  I stamped my Mustang on Whisper White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink and cut it out using my Nestabilities.  The scallop mat is also from my Nestabilities.  I colored the mustang using my Prismacolor Pencils and I also added some gold Pearl Ex randomly (maybe if you click on the picture you can see it better) on the horse.  I used dimensionals to mount the horse on as well as the decorative papers below.  The ribbon is some I had got a Michael's some time ago.

Be sure to check out what Jennifer, Maria and Tamara did for this challenge!!!

Here is the recipe ~
Stamps ~ Serendipity Mustang;  Ink ~ Chocolate Chip;  Paper ~ Whisper White Cardstock, Brown Core'dinations cardstock, Paper Salon Star Spangled decorative paper;   Supplies ~ Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Nestabilities, Prismacolor Pencils, Ribbon ~ Michael's, dimensionals, Gold Pearl Ex

Here is some information on the Core'dinations cardstock!  It is really cool because it is sold with a band on the end which shows the color of the "core" of the cardstock.  Here is a picture of a Pink Passion color with a Pretty in Pink "core".
IMG_3344_edited-1 The cardstock has texture like Bazzill and is sold in packs of either 8 1/2 x 11 or 12x12 collections.  You get 20 sheets per pack and the 8 1/2 x 11 pack is $5.95 and the 12x12 pack is $9.25.  There are TONS of colors & collections to choose from!  Be sure to check it out HERE!  Here is a picture of the above piece I ran through my Cuttlebug using the diamonds embossing folder.  I sanded a portion so you can see the difference ~
IMG_3346_edited-1 Thank you for stopping by!  I am going to work on uploading my scrapbook pages from last weekend although since it is in the high 90's today, I am going to have to take the kids out to swim and with it being so hot, I will probably get in too so it will be a little later today so be sure to check back!

Mothers and Daughters Creations Challenge ~ It's all black and white.....

The design team for Mothers and Daughters Creations decided to do a color challenge!  Tamara got this awesome Imaginisce ~ Black Tie paper which is just black and white and SO fun to play with.  You can use ANY color with this paper and totally change the look.  I decided to use pink for my extra color.  Here is my card ~
IMG_3065_edited-1 Hmmm.....my picture looks really big for some reason....Typepad is making some adjustments so I'll just go with it for now.....  I hope it didn't scare you when it came up!! LOL!!!  Anyway, the base of my card is Whisper White.  I used my favorite Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and embossed just the top of the card.  I then used my NEW Martha Stewart punch/embosser on the edge of the Floral Imaginisce paper and then used my Scor-pal and scored about 3/4" in so I would have a flap.  Since the paper is two sided, I thought that would be cute.  I added the Daisy Bucket Velvet Flowers and Imaginisce Pearl Brads to the centers of each flower.  I mounted them on the card using dimensionals.  The ribbon is SU! Pink Taffeta.  The stamp is my favorite Mustang from Serendipity.  I stamped the mustang on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and Mineral Spirits.  I then mounted the mustang on first Basic Black cardstock and then Pretty in Pink.  This was then mounted on the card using dimensionals!

Be sure to check out what Jennifer, Maria and Tamara have created!

I will be on a field trip with my daughter all day today so I will only have 1 post!  I hope you all have a great day and I will be back on Thursday!!!

Featured Stamper #65 ~ NUtsymuhl ~ AKA ~ Kim Muhl

Can you say LOSER???  Oh my gosh, my day ran out of time yesterday so I will bombard you today with a some posts!!!  My first post is for today's featured stamper ~ Kim Muhl.  The card of Kim's that I chose to CASE is HERE!   I changed everything except the layout ~
Img_2799_edited1

The base of my card is Chocolate Chip with a mat of pink from the NEW Daisy Bucket ~ Ring around the Rosie line.  I then used a shorter piece of cocoa from the same line and cut the bottom edge using my scalloped scissors.  The striped piece toward the bottom of this piece is also from the line and the brown and pink ribbon is from Michael's.  The bottom floral piece is HERE as is the polka dot scalloped circle under the focal image.  That was cut using my Nestabilities.  The focal image is from Serendipity Stamps and can found HERE!  I stamped the lamb and chick on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  I cut the circle out using my Creative Memories circle cutter, matted it on the scalloped circle and then cut a little larger circle than the scalloped one using my Nestabilities and a pink piece from the Rosie line.  I colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils although on the chickie, I used my Barely Banana and More Mustard ink pads and a blender pen.  I added White Fun Flock on both the lamb and Chick using my Quickie Glue pen.   For the centers of the flowers, I added Cotton Candy Stickles.   The sentiment at the bottom is a rub on from SU! and the coordinating tag is one included in THIS tag collection.  I cut a flower out from another of the papers and added it to the upper right of the sentiment.

The photo corners were punched using my SU! punch and Chocolate Chip cardstock and Rosie decorative paper.  I don't own ANY brown brads so I made my own!  If you haven't done this before, you should because it is SO easy!!!  All you have to do is hold the ends of the brad (I used gold) with your pliers.  Tap the top of the brad in your Versamark pad and then dip it in your embossing powder and then heat until it melts.  Once it melts, quickly dip the top of the brad again in the embossing powder and heat again.  I only have 2 layers on mine.  Here is a close up ~

It is really easy to do!  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  Don't forget that Tamara is having a sale this week in her store!

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned.....more to come shortly!!!

CPS Challenge #62 ~ Serendipity Mustang...

Hi!
I hope you aren't tired of my beautiful Serendipity Mustang!  You all know how much I love it and Tamara now has more in stock in her store!  When I saw the new Zsaige ~ Surf & Turf paper that Tamara just received in her store, I immediately thought of the Mustang stamp!  Here is my card, see what you think ~
Img_2778_edited1

This was a SUPER easy card to make.  The layout is based on this weeks CPS sketch.  The only thing that took a little time was coloring the Mustang in which I used 1 brown Prismacolor pencil!

The base of my card is Whisper White and then a mat of a lighter brown Bazzill piece (Chocolate Chip was just a little too dark).  I then added the Zsaige  paper.  The beautiful pearl brads are from Imaginisce and can be found HERE.   The velvet flowers and scalloped piece under the Soft Sky double stitched grosgrain ribbon are from Daisy Bucket and are called Velvet Elements.  They are so pretty in real life!  I added a small strip of Soft Sky cardstock behind the scallop openings to add a little color.  I matted the Mustang using the same light brown Bazzill cardstock.

There you go!  Simple huh???  Tamara has and will be adding LOTS of new things to her store in the next few days AND is going to have a sale starting tomorrow to celebrate National Scrapbook Day!  I will post all of the details soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mothers and Daughters Creations ~ Sweet Pea...

Oh my gosh, what a beautiful day we are going to have here today!  I need to get outside and enjoy it!!!  Before I go do just that (yes, I get to mow the lawn AGAIN!!), I want to post my card for Mothers and Daughters Creations design team challenge!!  This card is also based on today's limited supply challenge over at SCS.  The challenge was to use scraps and lucky for me, I had a FEW of those laying around!!

To make it easy on all of the MDC design team members, we decided to just use anything from Tamara's store.  Of course, this was NOT that easy because I had so many things that I wanted to use, I had trouble narrowing it down!  Throughout the day, the others will be posting their creations so be sure to check them out!  I do know that Maria already has hers posted!  Maria was the stores guest designer last month and because she is so talented and such a WONDERFUL person, Tamara asked her to stay on with us!  I am sure Jennifer  will have some beautiful card to share soon and Tamara will share hers this afternoon!

Here is mine ~
Img_2710_edited1

The base of my card is More Mustard and is 5 1/2 square.  The next mat is a light pink piece of old scrap cardstock from some unknown company and then a piece of brown which is included in the Basic Grey ~ Sugared 12x12 Collection.  I then used a scrap of the mustard paper (also in the collection) which I added a decorative edge to by using my Fiskars border punch.  I added a striped piece of decorative paper up where there was a gap between the brown paper and the top of the mustard paper.  This is right below where I tied the mustard and pink grosgrain ribbons.  The sweet pea sentiment is from the Sugared rub on pack.  The clear crystal bling is from Prima which I used my Quickie Glue pen to adhere them.  I also added this same bling to the flowers on the Serendipity ~ Sleeping Bunny piece.  Tamara should receive a new huge shipment of Serendipity Stamps any day now which will include NEW ones and re-stocking the ones currently sold out!  The bunny was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Black Stazon ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and added the White Flock using my Quickie glue pen.  The flowers are stickers that are included in the 12x12 Sugared Collection.  Tamara does have some Basic Grey in the house but not yet on her site so if you are interested in any of the products I used today, just send her an Email.

The 3 strips of floral paper are mounted on a piece of pink decorative paper as is the bunny image.  I used dimensionals to adhere the bunny on to my card.  Here is a close ~ up of the bunny ~

You can also get a better idea of how beautiful this paper is....

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend!

For a Deer Man in my life....

Happy Monday!
I got to stamp a lot yesterday and have lots of new things to show you!!!  I don't know about you but I just cannot do Masculine cards.  I LOVE flowers, swirls, pretty papers, etc... and those things don't always work for men!!! LOL!!!  When Tamara got this deer stamp from Serendipity Stamps I knew I HAD to have it!!!  I love deer and this buck is just beautiful.
Img_2643_edited1

This card was SO easy!!  The base of my card is Soft Sky which I did sponge the edges with Chocolate Chip ink to tone it down a little.  The color matched the DP perfectly though.  The next layer is the brown from Basic Grey's ~ Archaic Collection and then the brown and blue polka dot paper which is also from the same collection.  The decorative diamonds at the bottom of the card is actually a sticker from the 12x12 Archaic Collection.  The set includes a sheet of stickers and this was one of them included.  I added aged copper brads as well.  The Buck was stamped directly on an off white piece of paper from the Archaic Collection using Chocolate Chip ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and Mineral Spirits for a change!!!  I matted this piece with the same Basic Grey brown that I had used under the polka dot paper.

Stamps ~  Serendipity ~ Buck  Ink ~ Chocolate Chip  Paper ~ Soft Sky cardstock and Basic Grey ~ Archaic DP  Other ~ Prismacolor Pencils, Mineral Spirits, aged copper brads (Making Memories), diamond sticker (Basic Grey ~ Archaic 12x12 collection), dimensionals

There you go!!!  See how easy that was?  This stamp is so beautiful, you really don't need much else!

I will be back later with another card I made yesterday.  I get to do some housework now ~ aren't I lucky?!?!?! LOL!!!  I don't want my husband to think that I just sit around stamping all day!!!  Be back soon!

Featured Stamper #62 ~ Jodi ~ Kharmagirl

Hope you all are having a great weekend!  The weather was kindof chilly today so I spent a little time stamping!  I made a card for today's featured stamper ~ Kharmagirl!  Her gallery is fantastic!  The card of hers that I chose to CASE is HERE!  I used pretty much the same layout and changed the rest.  Here is my card ~

Removed for publication

The base of my card is Whisper White with a mat of a light yellow Bazzill piece of cardstock that I embossed the lower portion using my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The white ruffled ribbon is from May Arts and the yellow ribbon is from Chatterbox.  The white knot is from SU! and is Taffeta.  The safety pin has a light blue top and is old so I don't remember where I got it!  The first mat under the bunny is first a light blue Bazzill piece and then the striped decorative paper from Memory Box's Homespun Collection.  The focal image piece is first Whisper White cardstock and then a light blue gingham piece from the same Memory Box collection.  I used my circle Nestabilities scallop die to cut the opening for the darling bunny.  The sleeping bunny is from Serendipity Stamps and was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I colored the grass, flowers and butterfly using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I added glitter to the centers of the flowers and to the butterfly using my Copic Spica glitter pens.  On the bunny, I used my Quickie Glue pen  to adhere White Fun Flock to the bunny's entire body!  It looks SO cute!!!!  I used my large oval punch to punch through the light yellow cardstock and then glued a piece of the light blue gingham paper underneath and then stamped the sentiment on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  The sentiment is from SU!!'s Short and Sweet set.  I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment in the center of the large oval.

Here is a close-up of the bunny ~

Stamps ~ Serendipity Sleeping Bunny and SU! Featured Stamper ~ Becky

I had finished this card earlier today but my battery died on my camera so I had to wait for it to charge!  It was difficult to get the colors to photograph well.  The sketch is based on Sunday's featured stamper ~ Becky TE and the colors are based on today's challenge to use Sage Shadow, Kraft and my FAVORITE color ~ Orchid Opulence!  OMG, I HATE that color and was shocked that the ink pad was not dried up!!! LOL!!!  Believe it or not, I really do like the way the card turned out though!!!  The card of Becky's that I CASEd (her gallery is awesome.  Be sure to check it out ~ LOTS of beautiful things in there!) is HERE!

OK, here is my card~
Img_2135_edited1

The colors are actually prettier in real life.  Oh my gosh, did I really include Orchid Opulence and pretty in the same sentence????  LOL!!!  Anyway, the base of my card is Kraft with first a mat of Orchid then Sage and then Whisper White.  On top of the white mat at the top I used a sage piece of Hey Sugar Cosmo Cricket decorative paper that I got from Lindsey.   The bottom of the white mat has a strip of Kraft cardstock that I ran through my dotted Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I then gently rubbed my White Craft ink on top of the embossed dots.  The scalloped edge is a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I used my Martha Stewart emboss/punch.  I added a small strip of Orchid under the punched flowers for a little color to show through.  The ribbon is first a piece of Sage and then Kraft Taffeta.

The little chickie stamp is from Serendipity and can be found HERE.   I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I colored using both ink pads (Orchid, Sage, Mustard & Creamy Caramel) and a blender pen as well as Prismacolor pencils.  I added clear glitter to the centers of the flowers and the dots on the egg using my Copic Spica clear glitter pen.  I made my chickie fuzzy because I LOVE flock!!!  What, you have not bought any!!!  Boy, are you missing out!!! LOL!!!  I got my flock from Michelle!

Here is a close-up of the chickie ~

I hope you have a good evening!  See ya back here tomorrow!!!

Sunny Monday Greetings!!!!

Hi!!!
I hope you are all having a great day!  I was until I was eating a Swedish Fish and it pulled one of my crowns out!!!  I am lucky enough to get to go to the dentist first thing in the a.m!!!  I have never actually had one come out like this but so far it doesn't hurt at all.  I do hesitate to eat but I am REALLY hungry so I don't know if I can go all night!!!  I really HATE the dentist.  I hope my kids don't have the dental issues I have had!!!  Anyway, enough depressing news, now for my card!!!

I don't usually do a 1 layer card but for this stamp, I thought it would be perfect!
Img_2068_edited1

The base of my card is Whisper White in which I stamped the beautiful Serendipity Corner Vase Stamp using Basic Black ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor pencils and Mineral Spirits.  When I was done coloring and decided to use Yo Yo Yellow as an accent, I added some Yo Yo Yellow to the flowers using my Watercolor Crayons and a blender pen.  The Thank You is a Rubon from Basic Grey.  I stamped the bee from Bloomin' Beautiful using Basic Black ink and then stamped him again on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut him out, colored him lightly with a yellow Prismacolor and then as usual added my most FAVORITE Stampendous ~ Black Flock  and Quickie Glue Pen!   I also added Stardust Stickles to his wings.  He is mounted on a dimensional.

The top was done with my scalloped decorative scissors and Yo Yo Yellow cardstock (I have tons of this because I NEVER use it!!!) and a scrap of my KI Memories polka dot paper.  That's it ~ all done!!!  Oh, I almost forgot, I added clear micro beads to the centers of my flowers with my Quickie Glue pen!

Here is a close up of my bee and flowers ~

I hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by!
