I am going to share with you today a card made for last Friday's Viva la Verve sketch challenge with a Black & White twist! I LOVE black and white!! It was hard to not add a little color but I did it!!! LOL!! We would love for you to play along. You do not have to use Verve stamps to play along. Amber posts new challenges each Friday. Amber came up with a GREAT challenge this week for the Viva la Verve challenge for August ~ week 1!!! The challenge is to CASE a Diva!!! There is a TWIST though....you didn't think it would be THAT easy would you?!!?!? The {TWIST}: If the card you're CASEing uses patterned paper, you may NOT use patterned paper! If the card you're CASE'ing Does NOT use patterned paper, you MUST use patterned paper!
After much thought, I decided to CASE Tosh. I love the colors she uses and her attention to detail is SO inspiring!!! Her card that I chose to CASE is HERE. Here is my card ~
The base of this card is Basic Black and the next BEAUTIFUL flocked piece of DP is from DCWV La Creme Collection. Have you NOT run out and bought this yet?!?!? Oh my gosh, it is so pretty. I hate to use it because I don't want it to be gone!!! LOLOL!!! I did sponge the edges a little with Ranger Antique Linen ink and then added a striped panel, matted with Basic Black, on top of the flocked piece. I then added the May Arts black crocheted ribbon, which I got from Flourishes, and then added THIS May Arts Champagne Twinkle ribbon. The sentiment is from Verve's Beautiful You set and was stamped on the leftover from the 8x8 piece of flocked DP using Basic Black ink and then cut out using my square Nesties. I then added the corner swirls, which are from Verve's Filigree Fantasy set, again using Basic Black ink. I sponged this piece with Ranger Antique Linen ink and then matted it on Basic Black CS. The flower, from the Beautiful You set, was stamped 2 times on the same paper as the sentiment using Basic Black ink. I cut them both out although the top flower only had 4 petals cut out, not the entire piece. I sponged the edges of both flowers using the Antique Linen ink, added black flock to the center of the flower and then mounted the smaller piece on top of the larger piece using a dimensional. The final step was to mount the flower on the edge of the sentiment piece and then I added black Kaiser Craft rhinestones to the other 3 corners.

Hope you all had a great weekend, I did!! Too bad it went so quickly! Anyway, I was able to get a card done based on this weeks Viva la Verve sketch challenge with a scored lines twist.
Here is my card ~
The base of this card is Baja Breeze with a mat of Soft Suede, Whisper White and then a gingham piece of DP from SU!'s Slumber Party Collection. The ribbon is from SU! and is Soft Suede polka dot and white tafetta. The Kraft CS was embossed using my Vines (or maybe it's called leaves??? Can't remember!! LOL!!!) embossing folder and then I scored lines at the top and bottom using my Scor-pal. This piece was then matted on Soft Suede and I added the clear Basic Grey rhinestones. The images are from Verve's ~ Miracles Blossom set. I stamped the flower pop 2 times using Soft Suede ink, the stems using Always Artichoke and the flowers, 2 times, using Baja Breeze ink. I cut out the second flower pot and flower. I colored the flower pot using Prismacolor pencils and for the flower, added an old Creating Keepsakes rhinestone flower brad to the center and then mounted both of them on top of the first stamped images. I then cut the entire image out using my Labels Four Nesties. This piece was then mounted on top of a larger decorative mat of Baja Breeze using dimensionals.

I have a couple cards to show you today that are based on Amber's Viva la Verve sketch challenge with a White twist for week 3! I loved the layout and the White mat is so pretty!! This was also a really easy challenge! Here is my first card which is for our 2 year Niece. It isn't EXACTLY a card for a little one but she's only two so I don't think she cares about the card anyway!!! LOL!!!
The card is 5" square with a Whisper White base and then a mat of Kraft. The next mat is first Pink Pirouette and then Whisper White which was embossed using my swirls embossing folder. The strip is from Parisian Breeze and was punched using my EK Success small scallop punch. The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink and then punched out using my oval Nesties. I mounted it on a Pink Pirouette scalloped oval and added 2 white candles that I tied together with Pink Tafetta ribbon and a Kraft button. The 2 (from Headline numbers) was stamped on shrink plastic using Black Stazon ink, cut out and then shrunk using my heat tool. I added some pink metallic rubon and then added some Stardust Stickles on the top. I tied the 2 on using white floss.
Here is my next card ~
The base of this card is all 5" square and was made from PTI Lemon Tart CS. I punched the bottom using my SU! scallop border punch. The bottom mat is actually just white but for the bottom I just added a little small strip of black. The next mat is first Basic Black and then Whisper White which was embossed using my leaves embossing folder. The polka dot strip is some old KI Memories paper I had laying around and I cut the base using the same SU! border punch. The sentiment is from Verve's Dad's Day and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink and then cut out using my circle Nesties. The flowers are from Verve's Wishful Elegance and were stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink and then cut out. I colored using a blender and Barely Banana ink. I added a red button and black organdy to the center of one flower and the other two I added yellow Stickles to the centers. I added leaves punched from my Mellow Moss using my Sizzlets Birds & Blooms die and then mounted the flowers on the card. The final step was to add my Prima crystal bugs.

Can't make any promises about having a card to post for tomorrow but I actually have one today and that means 3 in a row!!! Wow, I haven't done that for a while. I am working on my project for Verve's project parade as well as some samples using the my NEW Verve stamps that will be released later this month!!! Oh my gosh will you LOVE them!!! The project parade is going on now and you can see all of the Diva's projects so far HERE!
My card today is based on Amber's Viva la Verve challenge for week #2. The challenge is a sketch and the twist is to use NEW stuff!!! Lucky for me, I have lots of NEW stuff. For today's card I used one of my new Serendipity Stamps ~
The base of this card is Going Gray with a decorative bottom edge of Basic Black which was cut using THIS Pierceabilities die. The black pearls are from Kaiser. The decorative red polka dot paper is from SU!'s Sweet Slumber collection and was matted using Riding Hood Red. The piercing on the side was done using the same Pierceabilities die that I cut the bottom decorative edge with. I used my Labels Four die to cut a decorative mat from Going Gray CS and before removing the die, I sponged Going Gray ink on the inside to leave a clean edge. I then cut this piece in half and stuck one side out the front of the image and the second out the back.
The Tulip Vase image is from Serendipity Stamps and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink. I then colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and Mellow Moss ink pad & blender pen (leaves). I matted this on Basic Black CS, added the black lace to the side and mounted the image on the front using dimensionals.
Now I have to get back to work on my project and I still need to mow my lawn! We have had thunderstorms almost every day. My lawn keeps growing but won't dry out so I can mow it. Can we not get a break here?!?!? LOL!!!

T.G.I.F!!! I don't know about you but this week has been LONG!!! I was able to squeak out a card for today's Viva la Verve sketch challenge. There is a sketch and the twist this week is to make it a Spring card!
Here is my card ~
The base of my card is Wild Wasabi and is 4 1/4" square. The next mat is Basic Black, Whisper White and then a piece of Pink Pirouette DS paper on the lower portion of the white mat. My cupcake image is from Verve's Cupcake Affair. I stamped the cupcake holder 2 times, once on Whisper White which was then cut out using my circle Nesties and again on the polka dot pattern from the Pink Pirouette DS paper. The cupcake top was stamped 2 times on Whisper White. I cut the entire top including the flower out of one and just the flower out of another. All of the flowers were colored using a blender pen and Pink Pirouette ink pad and then cut out. I added green Taylors Twinkles to the centers of all of the flowers. The cupcake top has clear Martha Stewart glitter which I adhered using Elmer's glue and a paint brush. The cupcake top and the flowers were all mounted using dimensionals. I matted this on Pink Pirouette CS and then a scalloped circle of Wild Wasabi CS. The flowers on the side are also included in the Cupcake Affair set and were stamped using Basic Black ink, colored with a blender pen and Pink Pirouette ink pad and green twinkles added to the centers. The ribbon is all from SU!

I'm off to the kids school again today as we are setting things up for the annual auction which will be tonight. It is always a really fun night!
Before I go, I want to share a card I made for Amber's Viva la Verve sketch April 02 (with a twist of using a background stamp). I LOVED this sketch and really liked how my card turned out! My friend Lisa asked me for some Easter cards and this is one of them I have given to her ~
I know I just used this stamp set on my card the other day but I REALLY like it! It is SO beautiful!
The base of this card is Chocolate Chip card stock with a decorative edge of pink polka dot DP which I punched using one of my EK Success punches. All of the Pink, Light Brown and Ivory decorative papers were given to me by my friend Denise Marzec!!! I am not sure who they are by but they are beautiful and I REALLY appreciate you sending them to me Denise ~ thank you!!!
On the Ivory DP, I lightly (stamped off one time) stamped Creamy Caramel ink using my Sanded BG stamp. I stamped the sentiment (from Verve's Everlasting Life set) on the Ivory paper using Chocolate Chip ink and then added some pink Taylors Twinkles using my Quickie glue pen. I stamped the Cross, which is also from Verve's Everlasting Life set, 2 times, once on the Light Brown paper and on the Ivory paper. I cut the Ivory Cross out and mounted it on top of the first stamped image using dimensionals. I also added some glitter using my Gold Copic Spica glitter pen. At the base of the Cross I added pink organdy ribbon and a scalloped edge which I cut from my Labels Four nestie dies using the Ivory paper and also added the same pink Twinkles on this piece as well as the Cross swirls.

I made this card for Julee and Amber's Viva la Verve sketch challenge which also had a twist which was to add a Birthday sentiment. I had such a small space to stamp a sentiment and none of my Birthday sentiments would fit so I used a small Verve sentiment from the Artful Elegance set which CAN be interpreted as a Birthday card.....I am THINKING OF YOU on your Birthday!!! See, I can follow instructions!
The base of this card is Arjo Wiggins ~ Cryogen White CS with a mat of Dark Brown Bazzill CS. All 3 pieces of DP are from MME Bella, Bella Collection. The pearls are from Kaiser Craft and the ribbon is Vanilla wide organdy ribbon and a little knot of MS dark/light brown ribbon. The flower image is from SU!'s Bloomin' Beautiful and was stamped on the off White Bella, Bella DP using Chocolate Chip ink and then cut using my square Nesties. I stamped the image again on Cryogen White CS and again on the Bella, Bella polka dot DP. I cut out the flower pot, adhered it directly on top of the first stamped pot and cut the flowers out, colored them using a blender pen & Soft Sky ink, added White Opal liquid pearls to the centers of the flowers and mounted on top of the first stamped image using dimensionals. I then matted this with a Dark Brown Bazzill piece of CS. The sentiment, from Verve's Artful Elegance, was stamped using Chocolate Chip ink.
