Good Morning!!!
Have you ever made a card and when you are cropping the photo and getting ready to upload, you realize maybe the wording isn't right??? I HATE when that happens!!!! Why can't I see these things before I take 50 pictures so I can make sure I choose the right one and then edit it and FINALLY get to sit down to upload!!! What my card says is "10 reasons 2 love you" when I really should have said "10 reasons I love you". I think I will change the 2 to an I later.
I made this card for my son for Valentines Day and I really like how it turned out! The decorative paper is from Basic Grey's new 2-Scoops line. I thought it would be perfect for a boy! I will make my daughters in the next few days. What do you think?
The base of my card is Wild Wasabi and is 5 1/2" square. This is a little bulky but since I'm not sending it, I wasn't really worried about the layers!!! The next mat is Soft Sky cardstock, then Whisper White, then Buckaroo Blue and then the decorative striped paper which is from the 2-Scoops pack and can be found in Lindsey's store HERE. I used my photo corner punch and the second shade of green decorative paper for the corners. I then added pewter brads to coordinate with the pewter picture hanger on the side. The center piece is a little book! The base of it is Night of Navy cardstock and then the same decorative paper I used on the photo corners. The little book is a 3" X 6" piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock, scored at 3" and folded in half. I will show you how I did the inside in a minute but first I will tell you about the top focal images. I stamped the Inkadinkado ~ Little Bird using Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped it again on the decorative paper and cut the belly out and adhered it on top of the first stamped image. I stamped the love you (Short & Sweet) and reasons (Rough Edges Alpha) using Night of Navy ink. For the hearts, I stamped the heart that the bird is holding using Real Red on Whisper White and cut them out. I added Christmas Red Stickles on them as well. I used my Quickutz Eliza font for the 10 and mounted it on a heart I punched from my Creative Memories punch. I pierced around the heart because it was plain and you know I can't stand plain!!! In fact the empty space under the heart and reasons really bugs me but I am going to let it go!!!! See, therapy is working! The 2 is a chipboard 2 and was covered with the striped decorative paper and my 2-way glue pen. The ribbon is double stitched Wild Wasabi.
OK, here is the little book in which I am going to number and write the things I love about my son. I will probably stamp some hearts or something too! I mounted the Wild Wasabi cover on the front using Sticky Strip. Here is a picture from the side of what I did ~
I punched holes in the scored center at 3/4" up and down using my 1/16" handheld punch. The pages inside (2 ~ 2 3/4" X 5 3/4" Whisper White ~ picture will follow) were folded in half and lined up with the outside cover and punched as well. I used silver cord to hold the book together.
If you have any questions on this, please don't hesitate to ask!
Thanks for stopping by!
