Hi Again!
I don't know if you had a chance to stop by Laura's (this weeks featured stamper) gallery but if you haven't, you really should. Oh my gosh, she has so many beautiful cards and with that said, I HAD to CASE another one!!! The reason I HAD to CASE another one is because her cards ROCK and because I have so many projects going on right now, I don't have ANY original thought!!! LOL!!! I REALLY like the layout of the card I chose to CASE HERE.
Pretty much everything I used on this card, I got in Lindsey's store! I forgot to remind you guys the other day about Lindsey's Design Team Call! There is no limit to the number of cards you can submit so what are you waiting for???? The deadline for submissions is April 25th!
Oh my gosh, this new Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste line is BEAUTIFUL! I love all of the paper in the pack and will have to get another one!!! Lindsey only has 1 left and I WAS going to order it but won't.....just yet!!! LOL!!! Anyway, the base of my card is Soft Sky and is 5 1/4" square. The next layer is Basic Black and then the beautiful Cosmo paper. The strip in the center is a mat of Basic Black and then Whisper White which I ran through my Cuttlebug using my Birds & Swirls embossing folder. The black scalloped ribbon was some I got from Lindsey some time ago. The vertical floral piece is the SAME as the first Cosmo layer but on this strip I added some Daisy D's white rubons that I have had for quite some time. I LOVE how it turned out! I matted this with first Basic Black and then Soft Sky. I added 3 MAMBI Clear Crystals at the top as well as around the Basic Black scallop. I added a 1 1/4" Whisper White circle on top of the scallop and then free hand paper pierced. Oh, when I tied the bow, I used my horizontal slot punch and pulled the right side of the ribbon up through the slot and then tied it.
The last step was to stamp my beautiful Inkadinkado Birds on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink. I did use my rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss the edge of this piece. I then stamped the flowers on the branch on a Whisper White scrap, colored them with my blender pen and Soft Sky ink pad and then cut them out and mounted them using my Quickie Glue Pen. I did add a little Stardust Stickles on the flowers just because!!!! I colored my birds with my Prismacolor pencils and Mineral Spirits. I did paper pierce around all four corners on the first layer and on the vertical strip.
I'm not going to have time to type the recipe ~ sorry. I have to sew the pillow I am making for Mary's class auction project. I am no Martha Stewart (I know, this is a shock to many of you) but the pillow has turned out really cute! I will share it with you once I sew it closed! Hopefully I won't ruin it.... Heather, if you are reading this, I may need you tomorrow!!!! LOL!!!
Thanks again for stopping by!!!
~Lynda
