Hi!!!
This week the design team is doing color challenge! The colors to use were green, orange and brown or black. You can play too! Just upload your card into the SCS gallery and put JBE005 in the keyword section then we can all see what you made! I know how popular Glorious Green is and I am sure you all would have LOVED to have seen some amazing card made with that beautiful color unfortunately, you will not see a lovely card made with that lovely green here!!! LOL!!! Here is my card ~
For the layout of this card, I "borrowed" the instructions from Debbie Olsen (who I might add is amazing). She has a wonderful tutorial on how to cut the base card HERE!
For the scalloped base card I used Chocolate Chip cardstock. I followed Debbie's instructions so I used my large scallop Nestabilities to cut it. The next mat is Pumpkin Pie and was also cut with my Nestie's. I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. The top mat is my Prima Urban Cosmos decorative paper. The awesome orange ribbon COMES with the paper kit!!! How cool is that? It also comes with coordinating flowers which I did use the orange one on this card. I used Elmer's glue to glue the ribbon down. The flowers are all Prima but from different collections. The Orange, Me & My Big Ideas Rhinestones can be found HERE!
I added a larger one to the center of the flowers which I added a brad to underneath to hold the flowers together. I mounted the flowers on the card using Pop Dots because they are thicker and added more dimension. The focal image is Inkadinkado ~ Birds Galore which I stamped on the Prima decorative paper before I trimmed it, using Chocolate Chip ink. I then stamped the same image again using the same ink on Shimmery White cardstock. I again used my Nestabilities and cut the center of the image out. I actually stamped the bird part again on Shimmery White cardstock and cut it out. I colored the bird and the leaves using my Prismacolor Pencils. I adhered the bird on top of the one I stamped first using dimensionals. I added a couple of small Prima flowers and then added the same orange rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and on the leaves. I then matted this on Always Artichoke cardstock which I sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. To hold the flap closed, I added 2 small pieces of white Velcro. On the side that is not opening, I used Pop Dots to hold it down.
Here is a picture of the inside ~
Pretend like you don't see the Stickles bottles that are propping my card up!!! I know, so professional!! I stamped the Inka sentiment using Chocolate Chip ink on another of the decorative papers included in the Urban Cosmos paper pack. Lindsey has re-ordered this paper as well as the Inka bird set so hopefully she will have them back in stock soon!
Now, hop on over to see what the girls have done!
