Jacksonbelle's Design Team ~ Chloe Marie Tuesday......

Good Morning!
It's Tuesday and that means another Jbelle Design Team Challenge!!!  This week we are doing a product spotlight for Lindsey's store!  The product to be profiled is Daisy D's new paper called Chloe Marie.  Here is my card ~
The base of my card is Poison Ivory Shimmery CS and then a mat of Basic Gray CS and then one of the Chloe Marie Decorative Paper patterns.  The color of the DP as well as the Shimmery cardstock is really more Vanilla than what the picture shows.  The strip down the side is first Poison Ivory then just a small strip on one side of Basic Gray which I cut using my scallop scissors and then another pattern from the Chloe Marie pack.  The lace is off white and is something I have had in my stash for a while.  I added a strip of Basic Gray Taffeta and then tied a knot using the lace.  The metal corners are from We R Memory Keepers Silver hardware kit.  I added pink MAMBI rhinestones to the centers of the flowers.  I mounted this strip using dimensionals.

The focal image is by Inkadinkado and is called Birds on a branch.  I love coloring these birds!  I stamped the image on Poison Ivory cardstock using Basic Gray ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor pencils, cut the image using my rectangle Nestabilities and then mounted it on a scalloped rectangle I cut from the same Chloe Marie paper that I used on the strip.  I matted this with some Basic Gray cardstock.  I mounted this using dimensionals on the side of the strip and Pop Dots on the other side so the image would be level as well as popped up!

A quick note ~ it was brought to my attention that the information that I gave you yesterday regarding the shimmery cardstock from Cutcardstock.com was not as good of a deal that I conveyed.  I checked into it and for me, the prices are still less than SU!  For 4 packages of shimmery cardstock, (89# cover weight), a total of 100 sheets, would cost me $39.34 to have it shipped to VA via USPS Priority.  When I bought my packages back in late Summer early Fall, I bought 1 package of each ~ Poison Ivory & Cryogen White (BTW, I am almost out of the Cryogen White!!!).  At that time they offered packages of 50 at 89# cover weight.  I don't see that they offer it at that same weight anymore.  They do offer packages of 50 but the cover weight is 80# cover weight.  The cost per package of 50 is $9.75.  I haven't used that weight before so I am not sure of the quality.  As far as shipping, if you are ordering a lot of the cardstock, it would probably be cheaper if you opted for the flat rate USPS shipping.  For me, these prices are much better than a package of 10 for $8 that SU! sells, even with my demonstrator discount.  I only am passing on what I feel is a good deal, you may find better prices elsewhere and that is great!!!  Be sure to let us all know if you find as good of quality and better prices ~ I would LOVE to know!!!

Second OCC Challenge Card.....

Since I haven't made anything to show you today, I thought I would share with you the first card I made for OCC ~ Our Creative Corner's sketch challenge on Saturday!  I made 2 and chose my second one to include for Saturday's challenge so here is my first one ~
The base of my card is Sahara Sand.  I put a small strip of Summer Sun at the bottom and then a mat of Bordering Blue.  The upper and lower decorative papers are 2 different patterns from the new Memory Box ~ Provence set.  The ribbon is from Micheal's.  The center thread was not yellow until I colored it with my Summer Sun marker!  The first mat (from the bottom up) is matted with Summer Sun cardstock and then I used another piece of the bottom floral decorative paper and lined it up so it looks like the flowers continue up on just that panel.   The next panel is first Sahara Sand and then another pattern from the Provence pack.  I then stamped the Inkadinkado bird from Birds Galore on a decorative blue piece of paper (from Provence as well) using Sahara Sand ink.  I cut it out out and mounted it (using dimensionals) on top of the first bird I stamped on Shimmery White cardstock using Sahara Sand ink.  I colored the leaves using a blender pen and Mellow Moss ink pad.  The clear jewels are from MAMBI and the pewter buckle is from We R Memory Keepers.  I punched the bottom of the Shimmery White piece using my Martha Stewart punch and used the same punch on a scrap of Summer Sun cardstock and then adhered them together and offset the 2 so you can see a very thin Summer Sun mat. 

I think I covered everything!!!  If not, please don't hesitate to ask!  I need to work on my card for tomorrow's Jacksonbelle DT Challenge!!!

Before I go, I want to mention something that may of interest to some of you!!!  The Shimmery White cardstock I use is not SU!  Last Fall I found a place that was MUCH cheaper!!!  Here are the links for the 2 colors I use most often.  They do have lots of other colors, types and matching envelopes, in case you are interested!!! 

Cryogen White and Poison Ivory.  The Cryogen White is the one I use most often.  It is the same color as the SU! Shimmery White.  It is not a bright white but not vanilla.  The Poison Ivory is VERY close to SU!'s Vanilla but of course is shimmery, not mat.  I use these all the time still.  I thought I would just use them around the holiday's but I have been using them a lot!!!  The company is called Cutcardstock.com.

No Swimming!!! ~ Featured Stamper #71 ~ Denise....

Hi!
I hope you all are having a wonderful day today!!!  I am assuming that the majority of you who are reading this are not Father's so I won't bother wishing you a Happy Father's Day!!! LOL!!!!

Here is my card that I made for today's Featured Stamper ~ Denise ~ AKA:  Denidill!The card of Denise's that I chose to CASE is here!!  Her gallery is just awesome!  I changed everything except the layout ~ as usual!! LOL!!!

The base of my card is Basic Black.  The floral decorative paper is from Bo Bunny and is their new Beachy Keen line.  The polka dot cardstock is also from Bo Bunny and is called Decaf Dot.  The top scalloped edge is another Bo Bunny piece that is 2-sided cardstock and is called Ocean Dot.  I cut the Ocean Dot cardstock using my scalloped scissors and adhered it so the dots would not show ~ they are on the back and are basically like the Decaf Dot ones.  I used my Scor-pal to make a line at the top on the Basic Black cardstock and then added piercing along the entire top.  I also added piercing on the floral paper.  The focal image was first stamped on some old water paper I had using Basic Black ink and then cut out so the bottom of the duck was in the water.  I then stamped the duck, from Artful Inkables, on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I also stamped the duck on a piece of scrap copy paper and cut it out so I could use it as a mask when I stamped the Cattails!  I stamped the Cattails over the top of the masked duck using Basic Black ink as well.  I stamped the No Swimming sign on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and cut it out.  All of the stamps are by Artful Inkables.  I LOVE these stamps and haven't used them for ages!  BTW ~ I noticed when I went to link the store, Kristin is looking for design team members!  Her stamps are awesome so if you are interested, check out the Artful Inkables link above.

OK, on to the rest of my card!!!  I adhered the water down on top of the previously stamped duck.  I colored the duck, cattails and sign using my Prismacolor pencils.  I did add a little cream color pencil on the duck just to add a little color.  Did you REALLY think I wouldn't have used my Caramel Latte fun flock on the cattails!?!?!?  I adhered it on using my Quickie glue pen!  I also used my metallic silver pen for the nail on sign and I also added some Copic Spica clear glitter to duckies eyelashes.  The bottom hemp type ribbon is some old ribbon I had from Rusty Pickle and then I layered the black and white ribbon (Michael's) on top and then added a little Bo Bunny yellow polka dot to add some color!  I mounted the image on the front using Pop Dots and adhered the No Swimming sign using dimensionals.  The last thing I did was round the bottom corners using my Creative Memories corner rounder punch.

Our Creative Corner ~ Saturday Challenge!!!

Good Morning!!!
I hope you all are ready for some fun!!!  Every Saturday, we will have a NEW challenge posted on the "Our Creative Corner" blog.  I will post the challenge here as well but by going to the team blog, you will be able to see  ALL of the other team members creations for some awesome inspiration!!!  Here are their direct links ~ Cindy, Amy, Laurie, Jennifer, Denise and Dawn.   Cindy is hosting this months challenges and her first challenge for this week is a sketch challenge!  Cindy LOVES sketch challenges and let me tell you, this one is awesome!  I to want remind you that if you do decide to play along, we hope you do and upload to SCS, be sure to include OCCC in the keyword section so we can all see!! 

Here is my card based on today's sketch (you can find the sketch on the OCC blog) ~
I tried so hard to get a good picture and really show you the beautiful colors on this card!!  The base of my card is Shimmery White cardstock.  The only place you can see it on the base is under the flower punch along the border.  The top piece of decorative paper is a different pattern than the lower strip under the ribbon but they are from the same Memory Box collection called Grove.  The embossed scalloped border is Bravo Burgundy  cardstock and was punched using my Martha Stewart border punch/embosser.  Just below the scallops, I added a thin piece of the upper decorative paper but left the white to show through the "petals".  I added Gold Stickles to the centers of the "flowers".  I chose gold because it worked perfectly with the AWESOME May Arts striped ribbon!

The lower panel is first Bravo Burgundy and then Gold Metallic cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug using my Birds & Swirls embossing folder.  The top focal image panel, which is Shimmery White cardstock,  has a mat of Bravo Burgundy.  I stamped the image from Garden Silhouettes using my Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink markers.  I colored on the stamp, "huffed" on it to moisten it and then stamped on the Shimmery White cardstock.  I sponged the edges with Burgundy, Metallic Gold and Pretty in Pink ink.  I added the small Prima flowers using Elmer's glue and dimensionals on some that I needed to pop up a little.  I added Gold stickles to the centers of all of the flowers.  The sentiment is a SU! Chocolate Chip rub on.  The butterfly (Martha Stewart) was punched 2 times ~ once using Burgundy cardstock and the top was punched from a scrap of the top piece of decorative paper.  I glued them together with my Quickie glue pen and then added the same Gold Stickles to the center of the butterfly.  I used dimensionals to adhere it on the card.

So, What's MOO with you????

Happy Friday!!! 

Don't forget about tomorrow and our first challenge on our new blog ~ Our Creative Corner!!!  I will be posting my cards and the challenge here as well so be sure to check back!!!  I have a quick card to show you today!  I don't want to miss a day since I have been on a roll posting each day!!! LOL!!!
The base card is Whisper White in which I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder directly on it and then used my Scor-pal to make lines.  I had stamped the sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms using Black Craft ink as well as the cow which is also from CHF!  I colored the spots on the cow and the feet using my Copic Spica Black glitter pen.  I also added eyelashes with the same glitter pen.  I colored a few of the cow parts using my Prismacolor pencils.  I matted the cow on Real Red and then Basic Black cardstock, add 2 red Prima flowers and an SU! black button tied with a piece of black gingham.  The cow print ribbon is from Oriental Trading which I bought a long time ago!  The image was mounted on the front using dimensionals!

Mothers and Daughters Creations Thursday ~ Welcome Baby.....

Good Morning!
Today is Mothers and Daughters Creations challenge Thursday!  Today we were to create a card using shades of Yellow, Blue and Green.  I chose to use the decorative papers from the Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake line.  I LOVE those papers and don't think they are just for Easter ~ not to mention I have lots of it and need to use some!!! LOL!!!
I just LOVE this little lamb from Serendipity Stamps.  This card has a bunch of layers so I will start from the bottom up!  The base is So Saffron and then a thin mat of Whisper White and then Celery and then LAST but not LEAST ~ Drapin' Daisies by Imaginisce.  I used my large oval punch to punch the Drapin' Daisies paper and then stamped the sentiment (from SU!) using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut a Celery mat to go around the sentiment freehand.  I embossed a small piece of Saffron cardstock and stuck it under the large oval opening.  I adhered the sentiment using dimensionals.

The strip across the middle is the decorative back side of the Drapin' Daisies paper and then a smaller strip of Whisper White and then the celery and saffron decorative ribbon from SU!  I added a daisy edge of Whisper White cardstock on top of the strip.  I used my Martha Stewart border punch for this.  I added Yellow Stickles to the centers of each of the embossed flowers.  This matches the glitter in the paper perfectly!  The focal image was stamped using Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the 2 circles using my Nestabilities.  The bottom piece is Saffron and I embossed it with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I colored the images using Celery, Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue ink pads and a blender pen.  I colored the lamb before I added the White Flock using a light grey Prismacolor Pencil.  I also added the same Stickles to the centers of the flowers and then mounted the image on the front using dimensionals.

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday!!!

This will be a quick post as I just got my house power washed and need to get my happy self outside to clean my windows!!!  Also, if you didn't see my earlier announcement, be sure to check it out HERE!!!  OK, here is my card for today's sketch challenge ~
The base of my card is Basic Black with a thin mat of Whisper White and then Sahara Sand.  I embossed the top of the Sahara Sand using my small Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I added MAMBI clear rhinestones to the centers of the embossed images.  The decorative paper is from the Soft Sky Designer Series paper.  The ribbon is May Arts Polka Dot and White Ruffled.  I also added a small piece of Soft Sky double stitched.  The square was layered Basic Black, Whisper White (cut and embossed with my square Nesties) and then Sahara Sand.  The image from Bloomin' Beautiful was stamped using Basic black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I colored using my blender pen and Sahara Sand, Mellow Moss and Soft Sky ink pads.  I stamped the flower part again on a scrap of Whisper White, colored it with my Soft Sky ink & blender pen, cut it out and mounted it on top of the first flower using dimensionals.  I also added clear micro beads to the center of the flower using my Quickie glue pen.  The butterfly is a punch from Martha Stewart which I first punched from the decorative paper and then again from vellum paper.   I layered them and adhered them together with my Quickie glue pen and then added the same MAMBI clear crystals!  I then added my rub on sentiment and mounted the image using pop dots!

Here Ye, Here Ye!! I have an ANNOUNCEMENT!!! LOL!!!

Does that title get your attention?? LOL!!!  I am SO excited to share with you some news that I have had to keep to myself for a while now and BELIEVE me, I am NOT good at keeping exciting news!!! LOL!! 

A while back, Jennifer, asked me if I would like to be included with a group of AWESOME stampers she had gotten together to do weekly blog challenges.  The team will do weekly challenges beginning this Saturday, June 14th!  Oh now don't think this has NOTHING to do with you!!!  You can play along too!  Every Saturday a new challenge will be posted on our blog which can be found HERE!!!  Be sure to subscribe to the blog so you can keep up with the challenges.  They will be different EVERY week!

Each team member will get a turn to host the challenges for an entire month.  This month will be hosted by the AMAZING Cindy Haffner!  Cindy's first challenge will be posted on the OCC (Our Creative Corner) Blog this Saturday!  If you do decide to play, when you upload to SCS, add OCC in the keyword section.  That way, we can ALL see what you made!!!

Jacksonbelle DT Challenge Tuesday!!!

Good Morning!
Today is a sketch challenge for Lindsey's design team!  I LOVE sketch challenges and if you do too, you can play along with us!  I will show you the sketch in a second but if you do decide to play, upload your creation on SCS using the keyword JBE0006 (those are zero's, not oooohhhhssss!! LOL!).  Here is my first card and is SO me!  The inside of the card includes the sentiment, better late than never.....
I HAD to buy this Inkadinkado stamp because it is SO appropriate for me!!!  These little sets are so cute and SO cheap (gotta love that!).  The base of my card is Wild Wasabi with a mat of THIS Crate Paper (the back of the floral piece on the front).  I then have a mat of Chocolate Chip cardstock and then the front of the Crate Paper DP.  I added the green Dew Drops by using Stardust Stickles which adds glitter!  I TOTALLY stole this idea from Rachel!  Great idea Rachel!!!  Since I don't have oval Nestabilities (yet ~ they are on order!), I had to use my Creative Memories oval cutter and my Marvy Giga Scallop Punch.  The first oval mat (on bottom) is the same mustard color which adhered directly on to the floral mat AFTER adding the dotted strip (also included in the Crate Paper Sweet Branch paper pack).  Then, on top of the mustard oval, I added a green strip (the back of the dotted paper) then May Arts Chocolate ruffled ribbon and then THIS May Arts Brown and White striped ribbon.  I used Scotch tape to tape the ends down on the back as well as under the ovals.  The focal image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink and the sentiment was stamped using Wild Wasabi ink, punched out using my scallop punch and then matted on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock which I cut an oval using my CM cutter.  These 2 pieces were adhered together and then mounted on the top of the first oval & ribbons using Pop Dots.  Of course before I mounted this, I colored the snail using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I added "slime" on the snail body, not shell, using my clear Copic Spica glitter pen!  Last but CERTAINLY not least, I added googlie eyes!!!

Here is my second card which actually follows the sketch almost perfectly!
The base of this card is Copper Metallic cardstock which I sponged with Dark Brown ink from my Colorbox Petal inks.  The rest of the papers I used are the fronts and backs of this awesome paper pack from Crate Paper called The Hampton.  I did sponge the bottom and oval brown pieces with the same Colorbox ink.  The sentiment is from Fancy Flexible Phrases and was stamped using Copper Metallic ink and then punched using my Word Window punch.  I also punched a circle (using my 1/4" punch) from the polka dot paper I used on the side.  I then added an aged copper brad from We R Memory Keepers.  I paper pierced around the oval as well as around the side piece.  The oval was cut using my Creative Memories oval cutter.  The Inka Birds
were stamped directly on the brown Crate Paper by first inking up the stamp with Copper Metallic ink and then Dark Brown Colorbox ink.  I then used the Colorbox Petal Point to sponge around the birds and it left a nice brown & copper edge.  This was PURELY an accident but actually worked in my favor!!!!  I mounted the birds using dimensionals.  Super simple huh???

Inkadinkado ~ Freebird.......

I lied on my previous post....  Our chicken, Cutie Patootie, DID leave a present on the tractor seat for my husband!!! LOL!!!! And, I didn't come right back and post my card!!!  Sorry about that ~ I got delayed due to my kids being home for the Summer, it being 100 degrees today and the swimming pool was calling our names!!!  Here is my card and don't forget to check back tomorrow because it is Jacksonbelle's Design Team ~ sketch challenge day!!!  You can play too!  I made this card a while back to submit for a publication.  Not sure yet if it was picked up so there is still a chance.....
The base of this card is Rose Red and the VERY cool decorative paper is from SEI and is called Dill Blossom.  I cut the wave using my Creative Memories wavy cutter and then just cut a small strip at the bottom.  I was trying to make this an EASY card and let me tell you, it was HARD!! LOL!!!  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado  (which was stamped on the DP using Chocolate Chip ink) as is the Freebird I stamped on the metal edged tag.  The bird was stamped directly on the tag in which I used my Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Rose Red markers.  I stamped the bird and flower again on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut them out.  I then mounted the bird with a dimensional on top of the first bird and then mounted the flower next to the sentiment using a piece of a dimensional.  I added MAMBI clear rhinestones to the centers of the 2 flowers.  The last step was to adhere the metal edge tag using dimensionals.  Actually, this was a really easy card and I hope you like it!
