Good Morning!
Today's mid week special OCC challenge is hosted by Julee Tilman! The challenge issued is to make a card using Julee's favorite technique ~ Vintage Values. In case you didn't know, Julee is the owner and illustrator of Verve Stamps SO, with that said, you should check out all the challenge details on the OCC blog to find out about a PRIZE?!?!?!? LOL!!!! Please note ~ you DON'T have to have Verve Stamps to play along ~ check out the details as well as the instructions on how to do the technique ~ HERE!!!!
The layout of my card is based on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge #57. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock with a mat of first Soft Sky then Chocolate Chip and then Kraft cardstock. I ran the Kraft piece through my Cuttlebug using my Leafy Branch embossing folder. I sponged the entire embossed piece using Creamy Caramel ink so the embossed images would stand out more and then I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. The strip below the focal image is first Soft Sky and then Chocolate Chip cardstock which I punched the borders with one of my Martha borders punches. The strip on top of these is Kraft cardstock which I stamped using the long filigree stamp from Artful Elegance and Versamark ink. I did use the Vintage Values technique on this strip and what I used is Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink. The tan twill ribbon is from May Arts. I added a little piece of Soft Sky double stitched ribbon on top of the tan twill knot.
For the focal piece ~ I first stamped the long filigree from Artful Elegance using Versamark ink on Kraft card stock. I then stamped the Fresh Cuts (by SU!) image on top of the filigree using Chocolate Chip ink. I colored the flowers to the right using a blender pen and Soft Sky ink. I then did the Vintage Values technique on this piece using the same ink colors as listed above. I stamped the small and medium flowers from Grateful Elegance on Whisper White card stock using Chocolate Chip ink. I colored them with a blender pen and Chocolate chip ink, cut them out and then added blue Swarvoski crystals to the centers using my Quickie glue pen. I added these flowers to the image piece using dimensionals. I also added the same crystals to 2 of the points on the scalloped border edge. I used my Quickie glue pen again to add clear microbeads to the centers of the Soft Sky flowers. I matted this piece with first Soft Sky and then Chocolate Chip card stock. I used dimensionals to adhere it to the front of the card.
We hope you can play along! Thanks so much for stopping by!
~Lynda

What a pretty card! (and a fun technique.. thanks for sharing it here)
I showcased this card today on my blog as my "Friday Featured Card by...)
Each Friday I showcase a card that I saw during the week and fell in love with. I explain what I like about it and then show the card that I made... after being inspired by the original. I also posted links back to you here and to your SCS gallery.
I just want to say a big THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful creations and for being such an inspiration to me this week!
HUGS!
