Happy Saturday!!
Hope you all have some fun things planned this weekend!! The weather has been just beautiful here so we are trying our best to get outside and ENJOY it because before you know it, it will be freezing!!! I don't like the cold. OK, sorry for babbling...now, on to the CARDS!!!!!!
The challenge this week is to make a card that is NOT square or rectangle. I am giving away a prize this week (see below) and all you have to do is leave a comment leaving a link to your blog or gallery in today's post on the OCC Blog. If you upload to SCS, be sure to include OCCC in the keyword section of your post.
As you probably know already (not like I haven't been nagging you for weeks now!!!), I am the hostess this month at the OCC. For this weeks challenge I asked the AMAZINGLY TALENTED Laura Fredrickson, AKA: scrapnextras, to be my guest!!! If you know Laura then you know how talented and nice she really is!!! I am so pleased to have her ~ thank you so much Laura!!! Here is her beautiful card ~
Isn't it beautiful??? For more information on this card, stop by Laura's blog HERE!! While you are there, be sure to take a little time to browse, you won't be sorry!!!
Hopefully, you will want to play along and if you do, this is what I will send to one LUCKY person!!!! LOL!!! I hope you like it! Don't worry, the Pumpkin Puke, Frog Eyes, Witch Warts AND Ghoul Guts ARE included!!! I posted a tutorial on the test tubes a few weeks ago and if you are interested in it go HERE!
Here is my card for today's challenge ~
This card USED to be square until I cut the front to look like a castle so I did follow my instructions ~ pretty much!!!! LOL!!! You know how much trouble I have following instructions!!!! The card base is actually Going Grey. I got the castle template from by Donovan. Maria from our MDC DT turned me on to this site and it is awesome!!! I did have to re-size it and then just cut out the front of my card so entire card base was all Going Grey and then I paper pieced to decorate it. The lower beautiful floral paper is brand new from Imaginisce and is called Enchanting Garden. I used Going Grey cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Tiny Mosaic folder to make the "brick" stacks. I sponged them with Going Grey ink to darken them a little. The top points were cut from THIS Imaginisce paper. I added the Basic Black small rectangles for the windows and also for the door a larger piece.
The carriage is also by Imaginisce and can be found HERE! I stamped it on the same polka dot paper as I used for the points at the top of the castle using Basic Black ink. I cut it out and mounted it on top of the first stamped carriage which hung over the the top flap to the inside ~ here is a picture ~
I used my silver painty pen to go over the wheels (obviously I didn't do a very good job because old people have trouble staying in the lines!!! LOL!!!). I added clear Martha rhinestones to the centers of the wheels as well as the top of the crown. The flower on the door is from THIS paper which I cut out and mounted using a piece of a dimensional. I basically repeated the same piecing on the carriage on the inside of the card ~
I freehand cut the clouds out of some REALLY old fuzzy paper I had. The colored rhinestones are from MAMBI.
Lindsey has ALL her Halloween and Fall stuff on sale AND she just received the NEW Crate Paper Collections, Inkadinkado Stamps, Webster's Pages, Prima, Basic Grey, Fancy Pants and Cosmo Crickett. To see the entire new Imaginisce Fairytale collection, go HERE!
OK, I think I have rambled on enough!!! Be sure to stop off at the OCC Blog to see what beautiful creations the girls have made!!
Joey has a game again today so I will sign off now and I hope you all have a great day!
