Featured Stamper Sunday ~ Cards By America......

Good Morning!
I've got a ton to do again today so I'll make this post quick!  I got some new toys in the mail yesterday and really wanted to use them!  My card for today's featured stamper, Cards By America, was based on THIS layout and THIS bird and color scheme!  I had seen her bird card before and loved it and since I had those birds I totally wanted to CASE it anyway so here is my card ~

The base is Old Olive with a mat of Basic Black and then Kraft cardstock.  The top of the white, black and kraft image piece was cut with THIS Spellbinders pierceabilities!!!  OMG is it cool!  The bottom black piece was also cut with the die and check this out, it embosses too!!!! 

See the embossed swirl?  After running it through my Cuttlebug and cutting & embossing the paper, I then pierced it.  The image is a rub on I bought at Micheal's a while back.  Instead of adding flowers as the featured stamper did, I added more branches.  I also added the Olive May Arts ribbon at the bottom because it wouldn't work on the side.  I also added black rhinestones in the empty spaces because you KNOW I can't leave empty spaces!!!  This was super quick and easy and I found I really like my new toy and can't wait to use the other one!

OUR CREATIVE CORNER ~ A Gift Card Challenge!!!!!

Good Morning!
Today's challenge is one you will love!  Julee has challenged us to make a gift card holder!  Not only has she issued a great challenge but she has an AWESOME guest to play with us this week!  Tori Wild is our guest and if you are not familiar with Tori, you REALLY need to visit her blog, she is VERY talented!  I was surfing Tori's blog and ran across THIS darling gift card holder and totally wanted to make one for today!!!

I don't know about you but I am in need of a lot of gift card holders this Christmas!  As the kids in our family get older, it is harder to buy gifts for them so I tend to give money, gift cards or savings bonds.  My card today will go to our Niece in London.  Here is my card ~

The card itself was cut using the largest scalloped Nestie.  The cardstock I used is Poison Ivory which can be found HERE!  The pink snowflake paper is from THIS October Afternoon collection.  I stamped the Elzybell image directly on the decorative paper and then again on the Poison Ivory cardstock.  I colored and cut out the image from the cardstock and layered a couple more snow layers.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and added Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz and Silver & Crystal Stickles for lots of shine!  I added Martha clear rhinestones to the snowflakes on the DP and Martha clear coarse glitter to the "snow".  The ribbon on the top is pink and vanilla taffeta.

I cut a circle from the awesome pink snowflake paper and because I didn't want to cover it up, I made a pocket using cardstock vellum and because I can hardly sew in a straight line, I opted to do faux stitching along the bottom of the pocket.  I first pierced the pocket and then used my quickie glue pen to to adhere the pocket to the DP along the stitching line and then added the stitching using my white gel pen.  I added some Martha bling on the inside as well.  This was super easy!  Thank you Tori for such a cute idea!

You Make Me Smile.....

I LOVE my new Whipper Snapper stamps!  I have always loved this one as well as the one I used the other day with the snowman & reindeer!  This card is for sketch challenge 204 at SCS ~

The base of this card is Sahara Sand with a mat of Whisper White and then Soft Sky.  The bottom square is first Whisper White  and then Wild Wasabi.  I used my Ornare paper piercer to add a little decoration above the floral strip which is from one of the DP packs SU! had last year ~ was it Fall Flowers??   I added some Soft Sky ribbon and white polka dot May Arts ribbon.  The tag is a Martha Stewart punch and is tied on using white scrapper's floss.  The image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I used Prismacolor Pencils to color and stamped the flowers on the same Soft Sky cardstock, cut them out and glued them on the stamped image.  I added white liquid pearls to the centers of each flower.  I used my rectangle Nesties to cut the image and then matted it using the scalloped rectangle Nesties.  The image was then mounted using dimensionals.

12 Days of Christmas ~ Day 10!!!!!

Hi Guys!!!!
I am sorry for not posting recently but I have had some freelance projects due and time was running out so I had to work on those and get them out!!!  While working on them I was also working on the project I am going to show you for my 10th Day of Christmas!

So the stamp I used isn't really a Christmas stamp but it sure is a beautiful stamp!!!  I added "snow" to try to make it Christmas.  The white mailbox is from Target's dollar spot.  I bought it last January or February.  They seem to carry them around Valentines Day.  Anyway, I stamped the image on a 4" x 11" strip of Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  The image is by Stampscapes and is called Lakeside Cove Large.  I stamped the image on the other side as well so it looks exactly the same except there isn't a flag on that side!  I colored the images using my Prismacolor Pencils and also sponged Bashful Blue ink to shade in an arch over the trees but left some white in the center. 

To get the cardstock around the flag I measured 1 1/2" from the bottom and 1/2" in.  I used my 1/2" circle punch and then from the left side to the hole, I cut to make an opening so I could slip the cardstock around the flag.  To adhere the cardstock to the mailbox, I used Sticky Strip.  After I got the cardstock on the mailbox, I added the ribbon and using my Quickie glue pen, I added Martha Stewart clear coarse glitter in the trees and on the rocks.  I did also add Angel Wings Shimmerz to the water but it is hard to see in the picture.  Here is a picture of the front which I used the same stamp, coloring, etc....just made it fit to the front!

The Merry Little Christmas sentiment is from Cute Converse in which I stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  I matted it on Always Artichoke cardstock and added 2 small snowflakes that I punched from Bashful Blue cardstock and added the same Martha glitter.

I also made a matching gift card holder by cutting a 6" long and 4" wide piece of Bashful Blue cardstock.  I then scored it at 2" and 4 1/2".  I added Artichoke cardstock to the top and a strip of Whisper White that I punched using my Martha snowflake border punch.  I added some old snowflake ribbon to hide the seam!  The center circle was cut using my Nesties and matted on a Going Gray scalloped circle.  The holder is closed using a half circle of white velcro.  There are some pictures of it below.  Here is a picture of the mailbox open with the gift card holder~

OUR CREATIVE CORNER ~ A Sketch & A Prize!!!!!

This month's OCC Challenges are brought to you by Julee Tilman!!!  She has giving us an awesome sketch to work with!  Not only is there a great sketch but we have Alma, who is the fearless leader of The Cat's Pajama's Rubber Stamps AND she has given us a couple of awesome stamps to give away!  You can check out ALL the details HERE!!!

Don't tell Julee that I didn't follow her sketch EXACTLY!!! LOL!!  I could not find 3 little pieces of ribbon that went with my card for the top so I added the library clip and Saffron floral ribbon.  The base of my card is Basic Black with a mat of Riding Hood Red and then on the top portion some awesome floral paper I got back in the Summer by Bo Bunny.  The strip under the image is first Whisper White which I punched the edges using my SU! scallop punch and then added a thin mat of Basic Black and then the decorative Bo Bunny black and white checkered paper.  I added the same Saffron ribbon just under the image and then before adhering this strip down, I added a small strip of Saffron cardstock at the bottom. 

The "herd" of chicks were stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  All of the images are from the SU! Best of Cluck set.  I colored the "herd" using a blender pen and Saffron & Caramel ink pads.  I then added the chicken wire from Making Memories behind my black frame which I cut out using my square Nesties.  I then matted it on Saffron cardstock.  The chicken on the outside was colored with my Real Red and Saffron ink pads & blender pen.  I added black dots with a black marker and then added Sunflower Shimmerz on top of the red and saffron areas because you HAVE to HAVE glitter somewhere!!!  I cut her out and used my quickie glue pen to glue her down on the outside of the coop.  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  I then stamped the chicken feet on top of the sentiment using Saffron ink, punched it out using my 1 1/4" punch and then matted it on a Riding Hood Red circle I punched using my 1 3/8" circle punch.  I mounted both the coop and sentiment using dimensionals!

12 Days of Christmas ~ Day 9!!!!!

Good Friday Morning!
I have finally finished another project for day 9 of my 12 Days of Christmas!  I would have had day 10 but it sucked!  I spent LOTS of time on it and then when I was done, I hated it!!  I hate when that happens...  Oh well, here is today's project ~

The box is from Papertrey Ink and can be found HERE!  I had a couple of these left from last Easter when I made THIS and THIS!  The Cocoa, Marshmallows, Reindeer Poop, etc... was put in Wilton cake decorating bags which I cut a portion of the top off due to them being too big and then stamped on them using White Stazon and THIS Inka snowflake stamp.  I tied the bags closed using red hemp because it was strong and would seal them tightly.  I then added red Martha Stewart ribbon to cover up the hemp and then tied the tags on using silver cord.  I used Quigly Wiggly font to print the tags on Whisper White cardstock.  I used my red K&Co. glitter paper to cover the inside egg holder portion.  I first traced each circle with a pencil on the back of the glitter paper and then punched out each hole using my 1 3/8" punch.  I then glued it down on top of the egg holder portion using a glue stick.  Here is a picture from the top ~

It's kindof hard to see the glitter paper but believe me, it's there!!!  This is going to be a gift for one of Mary's teachers.  She has a little boy so I also included some reindeer food (oatmeal & glitter) so that will be fun for them!  Here is a closer picture of the front bags ~

For the box ~ I randomly stamped the same Inka snowflake in Close to Cocoa ink and Chocolate Chip ink.  I them used 1/8" handheld punch to punch little circles from the red glitter paper.  I then glued the dots inside each snowflake and randomly around the box.  Here is a closer look at that ~ 

The lid, which is on the bottom, was covered in the new Chocolate 1' grosgrain ribbon using Sticky Strip.  I then added the same snowflake stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink, added a red glitter dot, punched it out using 1 1/4" punch, matting it with a Chocolate Chip circle I punched from my 1 3/8" punch and then added both of them to a red glitter scalloped circle I punched using my Nesties.  I then used Elmer's glue to adhere it to the front of the box.

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday ~ Thomas Kinkade Christmas!!!!

Sorry I haven't posted my 8th Day of Christmas!  I am working on many things at one time but have yet to actually finish ONE of them!!! LOL!!!  I hope to post tomorrow and Friday so stay tuned!!!

Today's sketch at SCS is a really easy one!  Here is my card ~

The colors are the same as yesterday's ~ Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Poison Ivory Shimmery cardstock.  I REALLY wanted to use different colors but these looked SO pretty together, I couldn't come up with others that I liked with this stamp!!!  The base of the card is Poison Ivory and then a mat of Basic Black and then Sahara Sand.  The stamp can be found at CHF and is called Village Christmas.  I stamped the image using Basic Black ink on Poison Ivory cardstock, cut it in to 3 panels and then matted each panel with Basic Black cardstock.  I added black velvet ribbon across the top and down in the right corner and then added 2 Antique Brass snowflakes by K&Co.  The last step was to add Gold Blingz Shimmerz.  Here is a closer look at the Shimmerz ~

I wanted some shine on the image but not too much because of the subtle colors and antique brads so the Blingz adds JUST the right amount!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday ~ Sandy Winter Birds!?!?!?!?

Happy Tuesday!
For today's Jacksonbelle DT challenge, we were to make a card that SHINES!!!  You know, use glitter, bling, anything to make it SHINY!!!  I LOVE shiny!!!  This card actually isn't my NORMAL shiny but it is shiny!  The layout of it is based on this week's sketch challenge at PaperCraftsPlanet ~ Sketch Challenge Group.  The colors are based on today's color challenge at SCS ~ Black, Sahara Sand and Vanilla.  Here is my card ~

I could not get a really good picture of this!  The vanilla does not look vanilla but it REALLY is!!!  The base of my card is Sahara Sand with a mat of Basic Black.  The top portion, behind the bird, is Poison Ivory Shimmery cardstock and then THIS Prima transparency.  The bottom portion where the Memory Box sentiment was stamped using Basic Black ink is Sahara Sand cardstock.  I cut the bottom of this using a Martha Stewart border punch.  I then added square pewter brads from THIS We R Memory Keepers Collection.  I added a strip of  black scalloped May Arts ribbon to cover the seams!

The beautiful bird image from Inkadinkado's Winter Birds Collection, was stamped 2 times ~ once on Sahara Sand and then again on Poison Ivory.  I cut the Poison Ivory piece in to a square AS THE SKETCH SAID (I ALWAYS follow directions!!! LOL!!!) and then cut the bird using one of my circle Nesties.  I mounted the Sahara bird on top of the Poison one using dimensionals!!! LOL!!!  I "colored the snowflakes, just on the Sahara bird using  Candle Light Shimmerz.  Here is a close-up of the image~

I then added Black Diamond Stickles to the centers of the snowflakes just on the Sahara Sand piece.  I then matted the Poison Ivory square on Basic Black and added the pewter photo corner (from the same We R Memory Keepers Collection as the square brads) using glue dots.

12 Days of Christmas ~ Day 8!!!!!

I can't believe I have actually gotten to the 8th day of Christmas and STILL have ideas for the next 4!!!  I LOVE how this project turned out and hope you do too!  I started out by making a turkey place card holder and then was trying to come up with one I could do for Christmas!  I had the idea in my head and then just kept working it until I got it how I wanted!  Here is the turkey place card holder (Yes, I do know Thanksgiving is over but there is always next year!!!) ~

The feathers are made from 3 different sizes of Nesties.  The colors of card stock are Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red and I sponged all edges with Chocolate Chip ink.  The way I did the body was to punch a large and small oval from scrap paper.  I then laid the small oval on top of the large one so it would look like it does right here!  I then traced his body on to the Chocolate Chip card stock and cut it out.  I freehand drew the "hands" from Ruby Red card stock and mounted them on the place card which is Pumpkin Pie card stock and the letters are actually rub ons because my printer that prints on card stock is out of ink.  The "feet" were made from the old SU! copper wire.  I just bent the wire until I got the look I wanted.  I freehand made the nose as well and the googlie eyes are adhered with Elmer's glue.  The hat is Copper Metallic card stock and the top part was cut out using my 3/4" square punch.  I then added a Chocolate Chip strip and a copper strip for the brim.  The "buckle" was made using my 1/4" square punch and then using my paper cutter to cut around it.  I used dimensionals to adhere the hat.

For this one I used 3 different Nestie circles.  The card stock is Whisper White which I sponged all edges using Soft Sky ink.  I also added Opal Shimmerz to the edges to add some shine!  I layered all of the circles using Pop Dots.  For the snowman face, I stamped the face from Cold Play using Basic Black ink.  I stamped the nose which is also included in the Cold Play set using Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White card stock.  I cut it out, added Pumpkin Shimmerz and then glued it on using my Quickie glue pen.  I used a good pencil eraser to stamp the Pink Pirouette ink for the cheeks.  I then added Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz Blingz because I NEEDED it to be shiny!!!!  The hat was made from a 1" square punch of Basic Black card stock, a scalloped border piece from last years Soft Sky Designer Series Collection and then a free hand made a brim.  I added Opal Shimmerz to the hat as well!  I then added a little flower that I punched from my Silver glitter paper from K&Co. and then added a pink rhinestone to the center.  The hat was adhered using a Pop Dot. 

I free hand drew the mittens from the same Soft Sky DP and adhered them on Whisper White card stock that I arched around to the front.  I added white flock to the sleeve cuffs using my Quickie glue pen.  The heart was punched using my Creative Memories heart punch and Pink Pirouette card stock.  I had to use rub on letters for the name this time as well.  I need to put black ink on my list!!!!

Basically I cut the same size circle as the back largest one and then scored it about an inch to 1 1/2" up from the bottom.  I then folded at the score and this provided an easel effect.  I used dimensionals to adhere it on the back of the snowman.
