Our challenge today was to make a card using some of the NEW stuff we recently got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I couldn't decide what to use!!! I REALLY wanted to use some new Prima flowers I got because the colors are AWESOME. They are dusty purple, red and Kraft colors. They went perfectly with the Samantha Collection from Crate Paper. Oh my gosh, this card took me HOURS to make!! What the heck???? I started to feel frustrated after I stamped and colored a couple other images and then didn't like them and then threw them away and then got irritated and FINALLY settled on this ~
The base of my card is Kraft card stock and then a mat of Chocolate Chip with a mat of purple from the Samantha Collection. The center strip is first red and then lavender w/ red polka dot paper which both are also included in the Samantha Collection. I used my Janome Sew-Mini to stitch around the outside and up the middle. Just so you know ~ my sewing is TOTALLY straight!!! You might want to get your eyes checked if you THINK that the bottom right stitching is crooked.....LOL!!!!!!
The image is from Inkadinkado and was stamped on Shimmery White card stock using Chocolate Chip ink. When I inked up the stamp, I used a Q-tip to remove the ink from the birds and then used my Real Red marker, colored in the birds and then stamped. I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and added the NEW Shimmerz Pixie Dust to the birds. I used my SU! distressing tool on the edges of the focal piece, sponged some Close to Cocoa ink and then matted it on Chocolate Chip card stock which I also used my distressing tool on. The sentiment is from THIS Verve set which I stamped on Kraft card stock using Chocolate Chip ink, cut out with my circle Nesties, matted with a red scalloped circle and then added some Chocolate Chip flourishes from THESE Doodle Parts. I then added the Prima flowers and added some Lavender Kaiser Craft rhinestones to the centers.
Be sure to check out the beautiful creations my teammates have made using this challenge~
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great evening!

Love, love this color combo- a keeper! This is just gorgeous, Lynda! Curious, how many Mic Ultras before using your Sew Mini- bwahahaha! Just joking, I have decided (due to necessity) that straight seams are boring!
