We have an awesome sketch, a prize and a FANTASTIC guest this week at the OCC!!! Our guest this week is Carla ~ AKA: cmsuto!!! Not only is Carla a very talented stamper, she is SUPER sweet too! Thank you Carla for playing with us this week! I couldn't get the sketch to save so I could add it to my blog SO, you will need to check out the OCC blog and see the sketch there!!! LOL!!!! While you are there, you can also see what Jen is giving away!!!! I have 2 cards to show you today. The first is my first attempt at the sketch and as you will see, I didn't follow the instructions SO I had to make another!!!! LOL!!!! I didn't want anyone to think that I don't follow instructions!
The base of this card is So Saffron with a mat of the back of the bird paper which is by KI Memories and is black with blue little polka dots. The strip across the center is Whisper White and matted with Basic Black card stock. I stamped the sentiment, which is from Verve's Thankful Blossoms set, using Basic Black ink and then embossed around the sentiment using my oval Nestabilities. I pierced the sides using THIS Pierceabilities die. I then cut the bird out and mounted it using a dimensional. The last step was to add light blue Kaiser Craft rhinestones. Here is a close up of the center piece ~
OK, now on to the card that I actually followed the sketch on! The base of this card is Basic Black with a mat of Basic Grey Pink from the Urban Prairie Collection which I punched using my Martha border punch (don't know the name of it ~ sorry....).
The strip across the center is first Whisper White and then a different piece of Urban Prairie DP. The butterfly is by Martha Stewart and was stamped on Whisper White card stock using Basic Black ink. I colored using Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette ink pads and a blender pen. I stamped the butterfly image directly on the decorative papers and then mounted the second butterfly on top using a glue dot. I added a Prima rhinestone trail and then a heart from Verve's Hearts on Fire set (MY FAVORITE!!!) which I stamped on Whisper White card stock using Basic Black ink. I cut it out and added a smaller heart that was stamped on the pink Basic Grey paper using Basic Black ink. Oh, I almost forgot, I added Pixie Dust Shimmerz to the top butterfly because there just wasn't even SHINE on this card!!!! LOL!!!!
Be sure to check out the OCC girls samples ~ Dawn, Denise, Cindy, Kim, Jennifer, Julee, Amy, Laurie, Silke, and Jackie!
I hope you have a great weekend! Thank you for stopping by!!!
~Lynda
