Hi!
Hope your Monday is going well! We are having another beautiful day here in Virginia in fact all week is supposed to be nice! This kind of weather gets me in the mood to clean! Unfortunately, once I start cleaning then I realize that I hate my curtains, bedding, furniture, etc..... I wouldn't have realized how much I hate it if I didn't start cleaning!!!! Now I'm depressed!!! LOL!!!
Today's technique challenge is to make a card by cutting a border either from a stamped image, DP, etc... My layout is based on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #73. If you look REALLY closely, you will notice that again, I didn't follow the exact sketch because I couldn't get some words to go on where they are supposed to without it looking dumb SO, MAYBE Julee won't notice!!! LOL!!!! Now, you make sure if you play along, you do it right!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
I have always loved this DP, it is by Prima. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip with a mat of Basic Black and then the Prima paper. For the middle portion, I stamped the filigree strip from Verve's Grateful Elegance on the same Prima DP using Basic Black ink. I cut the bottom of the filigree to make a decorative border and added a piece of Real Red card stock which I stamped using my Canvas BG stamp and Chocolate Chip ink. I did sponge it with the Chocolate Chip ink as well. I matted these on Basic Black ink and added some red crystals. The top image piece is actually the same Prima DP which I cut so some of the flowers & leaves would show. I added 2 small Martha Stewart butterflies which I punched from Basic Black card stock and the 2 little flowers are also from the Grateful Elegance set which I stamped on the DP using Basic Black ink and cut out. I mounted the two butterflies and one of the flowers on dimensionals. The ribbon is just black wide organdy. Very simple!
Before I go, I wanted to tell you that I have a card in this months CardMaker Magazine! This is the first time one of my cards was published so I was really excited about it actually coming out! It is kindof a bummer though because there were supposed to be 2 cards in there but only one made it in to the actual publication. Here is the one that made it ~
I'll be back tomorrow with my Jacksonbelle Challenge card and don't forget, Lindsey is having a sale through tomorrow ~ 30% off EVERYTHING! Check it out HERE!
See ya tomorrow!
