Hello!!!
Happy Saturday! Laurie is our host again this week and provided us with an awesome sketch! We also have an amazingly talented guest today ~ Tosh Leyendekker! I have long been an admirer of her beautiful work!!! Here is my card LOOSELY based on Laurie's sketch!!! LOL!!!
The base of my card is Whisper White with a mat of Real Red and then Chocolate Chip. The decorative brown glitter paper is from DCWV's Sweet Collection and was cut using my SU! scallop border punch. I used the same border punch on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and matted the decorative paper with the white scallops. The middle square is from the bottom up ~ Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Real Red and then another decorative piece from the same Sweet Collection. Actually, the decorative square is from one sheet that has the glitter strawberries on the top, a glitter scalloped border in the center and then a light brown with writing on the bottom. I kept it all in tact so I could used the scalloped border instead of ribbon.
Now is where the sketch and my idea had a conflict!! I stamped the Stampabilities ~ Sleeping with strawberries image on Whisper White card stock using Chocolate Chip ink. I colored using my Prismacolor pencils and used my Circle Nesties to cut a portion of the image out. I matted it with a Real Red scalloped circle. I cut one of the strawberries from the image and mounted it off the image using dimensionals. The sentiment was printed from my computer on Whisper White card stock and punched using my scalloped circle Nesties. I matted this with a circle of Wild Wasabi card stock and added pink Taylors Twinkles to every other scallop using my Quickie glue pen. I added the thought bubbles which were punched from a Quickutz die I have (the actual bubble didn't look right). I did color the seeds using my Chocolate Chip marker and then add clear glitter from my Copic glitter pen.
Need a little inspiration, be sure to check out the OCC girls samples ~ Dawn, Cindy, Kim, Jennifer, Julee, Amy, Laurie, Lori, Silke, and Jackie! You can see ALL the samples HERE on the OCC blog!
