Football Father's Day card...

Hello!
My post today will be short as I have field day at school with my kids this afternoon!  My card today is a repeat from last year.  I had made these cards for my daughters birthday invitations and actually submitted one to CardMaker as a Father's Day card and lucky for me, it got picked up and is in the current issue of CardMaker!  I needed 4 of these ~ 3 for my sons flag football coaches and 1 for my Dad for Father's Day!
The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and I ran it through my Cuttlebug (can't remember the name of the folder) to get the texture.  I used one of my Creative Memories Circle cutter plastic template part to make the template for this.  The oval cutter didn't look enough like a football!!!  If it did, it would have made it all much easier.  I made my own template and then traced it on to the folded (4 1/4" X 5 1/2") Chocolate Chip folded card.  I hung the top part of the template over the top of the card (the scored end).  I then used a pencil to trace the football.  After I traced it, I cut both the top and bottom of the card.  I then ran the front flap in through the Cuttlebug using the square embossing folder.  Again, I used my Creative Memories Circle cutter, Whisper White cardstock and then cut the side pieces.  I used Karen Foster White Scrappers floss for the top threads.  I cut 2 small pieces of the floss and glued them down and then took my needle, made the holes to pull the floss through, threaded the needle with the scrapper's floss and then sewed!  SUPER easy!!!

The sentiment is Verve's Father's Day Plain Jane stamp and can be found HERE!  I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink and then cut it out using my oval Nesties.

Because of you....Birthday Wishes....

Hi!
Hope all is well with you today!  Our kitten still hasn't come home but we had a nice surprise in our Chicken Coop last night.

Our hen hatched 3 Guinea eggs.  The little ones are not chickens because we don't have a rooster so our chicken eggs aren't fertilized but our Guineas are both boys and girls.  See how cute the little ones are (the 3rd is hiding under Chickie's butt) and here is a picture of how UGLY they are when they grow up ~

They are really great birds to have though because they eat LOTS of bugs, mostly ticks.  On Sunday we had a 5 foot black snake heading up to our house (I know, how does a feminine princess such as myself live amongst such nasty things!!!) and the Guineas surrounded it and ran it off!  Our 2 big cats just laid there watching it all go down!!!   Anyway, there is always something going on around here!!!

Now, on to my card.  The layout of my card is based on today's sketch challenge at SCS ~
 
The base of this card is Chocolate Chip with a mat of Kraft and then to the right, Pink Pirouette with SU! Kraft DS paper and then to the left is just Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  The BEAUTIFUL pink silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's store!  The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings and was stamped on Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink and the cut out using Spellbinders Labels Four and adhered using Pop Dots.  The main image is from Verve's Because of You set and was stamped 2 times on Kraft card stock using Chocolate Chip ink.  I then cut it out using my rectangle Nesties and before removing the die, I sponged first Creamy Caramel ink and then Chocolate Chip ink.  I then matted the image on Chocolate Chip CS.  The lower panel DP is from the Parisian Breeze DP Collection and was matted with Kraft and then Chocolate Chip CS.  I then added the pink buttons and pink Taylors Tiny Twinkles.  Don't forget that ALL Verve Stamps are on sale!

I was REALLY excited to use that pink ribbon.  Sharon has ALL kinds of different colors and let me tell you, they are ALL beautiful!

Featured Stamper Sunday ~ Mercy!!!

Good Morning!
Hope your Holiday weekend is going well!

We have spent the majority of our weekend looking for our lost kitten.  We are so sad and miss her so much.  The funny part is that we HAD never been cat people.  We have always had dogs and other animals but cats just weren't our thing.  We figured that some day a stray would wander in to our lives since we live in a VERY rural area and that would be great because we have lots of mice for a cat to get.  Well, that happened last Fall and we actually ended up adopting 2 strays because our first stray brought a friend days later!!!  Then they both ended up pregnant and thank goodness we were able to give away ALL 7 kittens and we kept one, Angel.  I took Angel out Thursday morning at 6:30 to feed her with the big girls and 45 minutes later when I went to get her to bring her in so I could take the kids to school, she was gone...We have no idea where she is.     We'll just continue to look for her and hope she comes home soon! 

Needless to say, I haven't felt like stamping much but couldn't pass up CASEing today's featured stamper ~ Mercy.  Mercy has a fantastic gallery so be sure to check it out!  Here is my card ~

Mercy's card that I chose to CASE is HERE!  The base of my card is Whisper White then Wild Wasabi, then Real Red and finally, I decorative piece from Imaginisces' Twitterpated line.  The red decorative horizontal mat is DP from SU!'s Summer Picnic Collection.   The polka dot ribbon is from May Arts and the silver buckle and top silver flower brads are from SU!'s Silver Hodgepodge Collection.  The image is from Stampabilites and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  I colored, as usual, using my Prismacolor Pencils.  You can't see it in the picture but I added clear Copic glitter to the strawberry seeds.  The sentiment is from Verve's Sweet Valentine set and was stamped using Basic Black ink.

I'd like to share with you a card I made last week for Verve's new release.  This is a REALLY simple card!

This card consists of Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Whsiper White CS and all the decorative paper is from Bo Bunny's Alissa line.   The flowers surrounding the sentiment were cut out from the decorative paper and then adhered using dimensionals.  I also added some Martha Stewart clear rhinestones and the Kiwi doodles from Spellbinders Doodle Parts dies.  The sentiment is from Verve's ~ Sweet on You set and was stamped on Whisper White using a blue from my Martha Stewart ink stack.  I then stamped the scallop, from the same set, around the sentiment using Basic Black and then my last step was to stamp the dotted border on the inside of the scallop using Regal Rose ink.  I cut this out and adhered it to my card AFTER I sewed on the card.

Good Morning!
I have a card to share with you today that I made last week for Verve's new release!  The release party last night was LOTS of fun!!  A couple of things you might be interested in ~ starting today ALL of Verve's stamps are on sale.  You can see it all HERE!  Also, Julee is offering up a GUEST DESIGNER spot for the upcoming June release!!!  Oh my gosh, you DEFINITELY want to go for this!!  I have already seen the June stamps and as usual, they are awesome!!!!  You have until Tuesday at 10pm EST to get your entries in!  You can find all the details HERE!!! 

I don't know why I am having so trouble getting good pictures.  I might need to take the pics outside...hmm....I'll have to try that.  Anyway, the base of this card is Whisper White with a mat of Pumpkin and then Chocolate Chip.  For the top white panel I did the grid technique using my Scor-pal, added a strip of Chocolate Designer Series Paper and then on the bottom, I used Basic Grey's Offbeat DP that I punched using my Martha Stewart border punch/embosser.  The image, from Verve's new Up, Up and Away set, was stamped on Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink, cut out using my rectangle Nesties and then matted with Chocolate Chip and then Pumpkin Pie.  I colored using Prismacolor pencils, added a little Linen Thread bow and the sentiment on the front from Verve's Beautiful Kindness set.

Verve Sneak Peek Day 3 ~ Up, Up and Away.....

Are you ready for another Verve Sneak Peek???  Today is day 3 and it is the final day with the release starting tonight at 9pm EST.  You can read all about it HERE!

For my card today, I used the brand new Verve set called Up, Up and Away!  For the sentiment on the inside, I used the new Happy Father's Day Plain Jane stamp.
The layout is from Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #87.  The base is Baja Breeze and then a mat of Chocolate Chip and Whisper White on the top and striped Parisian Breeze DP on the bottom.   I punched the top edge of the Parisian Breeze with my wavy EK Success border punch.  I stamped the 2 trees using Chocolate Chip ink by masking the first one and then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I masked the tree again and then stamped the clouds using Baja Breeze ink.  I then cut out the image using my Circle Nesties and then I added clear fine Martha glitter to the clouds.  I then lined this piece up on top of my square and then stamped the hot air balloon on both the circle and my square using Chocolate Chip ink.  I stamped the basket again on Whisper White and the balloon on the polka dot DP from the same Parisian Breeze paper pack.  The basket was then colored using Prismacolor pencils and mounted it on top of the first stamped basket and did the same with the balloon.    I then added some clouds on this piece as well.  The circle image was matted on Chocolate Chip and adhered on top of the square and May Arts ribbon using dimensionals.  Here is a closer look at the image ~

Verve Sneak Peek ~ Worlds Greatest Grandpa.....

Hello All!!!
Today is the beginning of the sneak peeks for Verve's brand new release!!!  Today, we are peeking at 2 new releases called Sweet on You and Worlds Best.  You can see additional peeks on the Verve blog HERE!  You will definitely want to visit the blog because Julee is giving away the new sets and all you have to do is leave a comment ~ easy enough huh?!?!?  The peeks will continue until Friday when all the new sets will be revealed after the RELEASE party which begins at 9pm EST!!! 

My card today actually includes 2 stamps from other new sets that won't be previewed until tomorrow and Friday! 
The base of this card is Whisper White with a mat of Chocolate Chip and then Kraft CS.  The lower panel is a decorative Kraft & White piece from SU!'s Parisian Breeze DP and was matted with Whisper White.  The next panel is a piece of Kraft CS which I stamped the BG stamp from Verve's NEW set called Protector using my Versamark and then matted this with Whisper White, added Brown and White May Arts ribbon and a Grandpa tag that was punched using my word window punch and then tied on using linen thread.  The "World's Best" is from the NEW Worlds Best set and was stamped on top of a tree from the NEW Up, Up and Away set using Chocolate Chip ink and then I stamped the dotted oval which is from the NEW Sweet on You set around both using Always Artichoke ink.  I then cut this oval out and mounted it inside the scalloped oval (also from the Sweet on You set) that I stamped on Kraft CS using Chocolate Chip ink.  I added some piercing and knotted hemp on each corder and mounted it on the card using dimensionals.  The bottom decorative edge is just staggered scallops that I made from the SU! scalloped border punch.

Jacksonbelle Tuesday ~ Jump in to Summer....

Today is Tuesday and that means that it is time for another Jbelle Challenge!  This week's challenge is to make a card with a Summer theme (i.e. beach, picnic, sun, etc...).  If you would like to play along with us, when you upload your card to SCS, be sure to include keyword JBE054.  Here is my card ~
The base is a 5 1/4" square of Pink Pirouette CS.  I added 2 different patterns of decorative paper from the Basic Grey Porcelain Collection on a mat of Whisper White.  The image is from Inkadinkado and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and a blender pen & Real Red and  Barely Banana ink pads.  I paper pieced the little boys shorts and the little girls dress ~ also from paper from the Porcelain Collection and added some December Sky Shimmerz to the ocean.  I then matted the image on Basic Black, added some stitching on the base panel and then mounted the image using dimensionals.  Here is a close up ~

Featured Stamper Sunday ~ Joan!!!

Hello!!!
Can you believe it, another card all in one weekend!?!?!  Well, I started this card around 8:30 this a.m. and finished around 2:30!!  By the time I fit everything else I have to do in between trying to make a card...well...yes, it does take me a LONG time to finish one!  LOL!!!  Good news though, my sons football team won the championship and boy was the game today a great game! 

My card is based on today's featured stamper, Joan Ervin and her card HERE!  Her card is REALLY cute and I wanted to keep those bright colors.  Here is my card ~
The card base is Tangerine Tango and is 5" square.  The next mat is Whisper White and then a polka dot pattern from the Bloom Collection from MME.  The 3 decorative strips are from MME's Grow Collection.  I matted each strip on Whisper White.  The square under the image is first a scalloped square of Whisper White and then THIS Grow paper and then the same polka dot Bloom paper.    The image is from Whipper Snapper and was stamped on Whisper White CS using Basic Black ink and then cut out using my oval Nesties.  I colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils and a blender pen & Celery and Tangerine ink pads and then matted it on an orange pattern from the Grow Collection.  I added some clear Martha Stewart rhinestones to the Martha Stewart butterflies (WHICH you can find that punch HERE) as well as the top and bottom of the floral strips.  The smile sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings and was stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink, cut using my circle Nesties and then matted on the leaf patterned paper. 

Before I go, I want to mention that a new release is coming up this week for Verve.  Beginning May 20th, the sneak peeks will begin!  Also, beginning May 23rd, ALL Verve Stamps are going to be on sale!!!  How cool is that?!?!?  Don't worry, when the time gets closer, I'll remind you!!! LOL!!!

Guess WHAT?!?!? I made a card!!!!!!!

Can you believe it?!?!?  I made a card!!!!  It only took me all day!!  LOL!!!  The layout is based on Tuesday's sketch challenge at Jacksonbelle.  Here is the sketch in case you would like to play along ~

If you do decide to play along, upload to SCS and use the keyword JBE053!!!  Also, Lindsey JUST received Martha Stewart punches and will be posting them in the store today!!!  Fun stuff!!!  Here is my card ~

 

I always need masculine cards and this Stampscapes image is one of my favorites!  The base of this card is Going Gray with a mat of Basic Black and then decorative paper from Basic Grey's Granola Collection.  The next mat up is watercolor paper and then Going Gray which I pierced using THIS Pierceabilities die.  The sentiment, from Verve's Wonderful Wishes set,  was stamped on watercolor paper using Basic Black ink, cut using THIS Nestabilities die, sponged with Going Gray ink before taking the die off and then I added THESE Basic Grey rhinestones!  The Stampscapes image was stamped on watercolor paper using Basic Black ink and then I used reinkers to watercolor the image.  The image was then cut out using my oval Nesties, matted with Going Gray and then a scallop of Soft Sky card stock.  I added Butter Cream Shimmerz to the water and sponged the edges of the oval with Going Gray ink.
