Good Morning!!!
Today, it is my turn to post my project for Verve's Project Parade! This month's theme is "It's a Girl Thing"! Sounds like fun huh?!?!? I took the theme in a little different direction and made MYSELF a Mother's Day gift!! LOL!!! My Mom passed away when I was 18 and my WONDERFUL Grandma passed away almost 3 years ago so, I thought, well, since I can't make anything for them, how about making something I would love to receive from my kids!!! OK, this is off subject but I have to tell you that my Birthday was a few weeks ago and my daughter was SO sweet and made me some cards. While I was opening them and reading them, she explained to me that she couldn't find ANY stamps so she just drew the pictures!!! LOLOLOL!!! I laughed so hard because she HAD to of tripped over at least 10 on her way IN TO my craft room!!! So cute! Sorry, I got off track!!! Anyway, my project looks SO much better IRL!! I was disappointed because I just couldn't get really good pictures....
BTW, I will be posting my Jbelle Tuesday card later this a.m. so stay tuned!!! OK, here is my project~
I used 4 Making Memories Vintage Hip Frames to make a flower pot. I adhered them to a box I made from a sheet of 12x12 Pink Bazzill CS. The box was really simple, I just scored on all 4 sides at 3 7/8" and constructed my box. The Hip frames fit perfectly around the box. I decorated each frame differently. Here is a picture of the first frame ~
For this frame I used the flowers and sentiment from the Because of You set. This set has been sold out and is on backorder. Unfortunately, it won't be available before Mother's Day but I'll tell ya, this set is perfect for ANY occasion. I stamped the flowers on Vanilla Bazzill CS and MME Bella Bella DP using a Versamark and then heat embossing with Silver EP. I cut out the individual flowers as well as the bouquet. I added some pink Taylors Tiny Twinkles to the centers of the flowers and adhered the flowers using a combination of Tacky Tape and dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped, partially, on the frame and then again on vellum paper using Timber Brown Stazon. I stamped behind the sentiment, directly on the pink box, using Pink Pirouette ink and the smaller silhouette included in the Because of You set.
Here is another side ~
The hearts on this side are from the Hearts on Fire set and were stamped on the same Vanilla Bazzill CS and Bella Bella DP using my Versamark and heat embossed using Silver EP. I cut the hearts out, added the sentiment from the Because of You set using my Close to Cocoa marker and mounted them using Sticky Strip and dimensionals. I then added a little ribbon to fill the space!!!
Here is another one ~
For this one I embossed and cut out using the same paper and again the Because of You set.
Here is the final side~
This one looks horrible in this picture! Not that it looks awesome IRL, it really doesn't look this bad!!! LOL!!!! I used the heart from Hearts on Fire, added a Making Memories charm to the center, sponged and embossed the chipboard letters using Chocolate Chip & Vanilla ink and Pink and Silver EP and then finally just added a little key charm that was also from Making Memories.
Here is a picture of the flowers and my glittery Prima butterfly ~
I definitely am not a good flower arranger (this is the technical term for a person that arranges flowers!!! LOL!!!). I thought the butterfly was so pretty though and really wanted to use it and not continue to hoard it!!!
We'd love for you to play along with this theme! Just make a project or card that fits your style and celebrates a woman in your life. It can be any woman ... mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher - you get the idea! Then add your project link to the Mr. Linky form IN THIS POST before 8PM Mountain on Thursday, May 14. Two random participants will be chosen and win $25 gift certificates to the Verve Store. Have fun and good luck!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
