Hello and Happy Mothers Day if you are reading this on Sunday!
WOW, it has been a while since I posted! What a week. We have had nothing but rain until FINALLY, on Friday we saw the sun and it was a beautiful day! Friday, I went on my son's 5th grade field trip to DC to see the monuments and we got tours of the Capitol and Supreme Court. Boy, did we have a GREAT time!! There are only 36 kids in his entire 5th grade class. They are ALL such wonderful kids and are so funny and fun to be with. I am sad that next year I won't be ALLOWED to go on his field trips anymore although I do feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to go on so many. Here is a picture that I took of the Washington Monument while we were visiting the World War II Memorial.

Sorry for the diversion! I actually have a card to share with you that I started earlier in the week and finally finished today!! Because of the rain, I haven't been able to mow for 2 weeks! You can imagine what my yard looked (I did it today) like!!! Anyway, the layout of my card is based on SCS's Clean and Simple Sketch challenge HERE! The base of my card is Basic Black with a mat of Pumpkin Pie and then Real Red CS. The top layer is just Whisper White with 6 daisies, from Verve's Wishful Elegance, stamped directly on the white using Basic Black ink. I stamped them 5 times again on a glitter pattern DP from DCWV's Citrus Collection, cut them out and then mounted them using dimensionals. The 6th flower was stamped on Real Red, cut out, added small red rhinestones to the center and then mounted it using a dimensional. The sentiment is from Circular Sayings and was stamped using Basic Black and then orange rhinestones were added on each side. I also added a sentiment to the inside ~
I thought the ~ you are one of a kind ~ sentiment was perfect with the flowers on the front! I stamped the daisy using Real Red and then added some Pumpkin Pie ink. The final step was to add some red rhinestones. Oh, the sentiment is from SU!
Well, hopefully I will get some stampin' time tomorrow!!! Have a great day!

Wait a sec...you came to Washington DC and didn't stop and see me? I see how it is. Fine. FINE! Now why is it that my 5th grader went to some battelfield in your neck of the woods and yours came to DC? Your photos are wonderful and I'm so glad you got a clear sunny day. Oh, and your card is darling! Happy Mother's Day Lynda.
