Good Morning!
Today is my little girl's 9th Birthday!! I can't believe she is already 9!! Dang, am I OLD!!! We had a party for her with her friends here on Saturday so today we will just spend it together! Joey has football training this afternoon so we'll go to dinner after and she wants a Dairy Queen ice cream cake so that she will have! I'll be back later to share her Birthday card with you but I have to make it first!!! LOL!!! I know, another reason for me to be Mother of the Year!!!
Speaking of OLD!! I have to vent for a minute. We ran to Target yesterday to pick up a few things. I am having a some girlfriends over this weekend so I thought, well, I'll pick up some beer now so that will be one less thing I will have to worry about later this week! I got up to the check out with my kids in tow and the cashier explained to me that she needed to see my I.D. I explained to her that usually, they just ask for my DOB, and asked her why she needs my I.D. because OBVIOUSLY I don't look as though I am ANYWHERE near 21 years old (might act like it but certainly don't look like it)? She said that is their new rule so I got my wallet out and showed her my I.D. while it was still in my wallet....now comes the VENTING part...SHE slide my I.D. out of my wallet and SCANNED it. I wish I would have told her she could keep her beer and that I would go to Walmart since it is cheaper there anyway but of course I didn't think that quickly. I was shocked that she scanned my drivers license for beer!! OK, I feel better now!!! LOL!!! Now I can show you my card....
This week we have a sketch again so if you would like to play along, please leave a comment on the Jbelle blog HERE or upload to SCS using the keywork JBE062. Here is the sketch ~
Now, put your sunglasses on for this one! This is bright!!
The base of this card is Tangerine Tango with a mat at the top of Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and then the floral DP from Basic Grey's NEW Collection called June Bug. I punched the bottom of the June Bug using my SU! scallop border punch. The ribbon is from Michaels. For the focal piece, I stamped the DARLING owl from Basic Grey's Owlet Bitsy set 2 times on Whisper White using Chocolate Chip ink. I cut out one of them and then stamped the "branch", which is also in the set, using Certainly Celery ink. I colored the top owl using Prismacolor pencils. I stamped the owls eyes on some Basic Grey pink scrap paper I had and cut them out, mounted them on top of the top owl using dimensionals and then added some googlie eyes. I cut out 3 flowers from the DP and mounted them on the branch using dimensionals and then added some pink Basic Grey rhinestones. The final step was to pierce the bottom using THIS pierceabilities die.
Be sure to check out what the girls did using this sketch, you won't be sorry!!!
Have a great day!

Cute card!! But don't complain about them scanning your id. First of all, think about how many fake or expired licences it will catch leading to less underage or loser drinking and possibly even saving lives. Every deterrent helps. Secondly, be glad you can even buy beer at Target, in Canada we can OnLY buy beer at our liquor stores! The lines are horrendous on/near holidays because a town of 40-50,000 people only has ONE store!! I'd love to be able to buy alcohol somewhere else.
