I had intended to post my Jbelle card first today but finished my Serendipity challenge card first so I will be back this afternoon with my Jbelle card!!! This weeks Jbelle challenge is a sketch so if you would like to get started playing along right away, you can find the details HERE!
This weekend a feral cat brought her babies to our barn. I was shocked when I went out there Saturday night and saw 4 kittens. I think they are 3-4 weeks old. The mama cat won't let me get near her but the kittens did. A couple hissed at me and the other 2 actually let me pick them up!! I fed them as well as lots of food for Mom but yesterday when I went out to feed them and check on them, Mama had taken 3 of them and left one. I am not sure if she was coming back to get the last one or not but it was the most friendly of the 3. Well....of course I couldn't leave it alone out there so....we have a new kitten!!! LOL!!! Here is a picture I took last night ~
The kids want to name HER (I think she is a she) Waldo but we'll talk about that today and hopefully I can convince them to change HER name to Daisy or something!!! LOL!!! Do you see why I get nothing done around here??? There is ALWAYS something. BTW, the same day the kittens came, 19 Guinea hens hatched so now we have 3 cats, 29 Guineas, a horse, 12 chickens, 1 dog and 2 kids!!! LOL!!!
Now, on today's Serendipty Stamps challenge. We were to make a monochromatic card. I have so many beautiful NEW Serendipity Stamps that I had a hard time deciding which one to use!! LOL!!! I decided to use THIS set called Wheat Sheaf.
This is embarrassing to admit but I have had Copic markers for almost 2 years now and have NEVER used them. I did practice a little but never liked what I colored so I put them back on the shelf...Well, I pulled them out last week to try again!! I actually colored this using my Copics!!! I even like how it turned out!!!
The base of this card is Vanilla with a mat of Soft Suede and then a piece of DP from Graphic 45. I then added a Soft Suede Top Note die cut, a strip from the back of the lower DP and then an oval of Vanilla CS that I stamped the image using Black Memento ink and then punched using my oval Nesties. Like I said I colored using my Copics, added Christmas Red Stickles and popped up the pumpkin and leaf. The final step was to add an antique brass large eyelet and some misc. gingham that matched PEFECTLY!!! I tied the gingham off using a piece of linen thread. Oh and I sponged around the image using Ranger Antique Linen ink.
Here is a closer look at the pumpkin ~
Be sure to check out what my awesome teammates have done with this challenge!!
I'll be back later with my Jbelle card!!

Lynda, I love the color that you chose for the challenge! It has been so nice to begin to see autumn showing up in recent cards - I can't wait to use this image for a few of my own cards as well.

Usually the cards I put the most work into turn out to be the biggest waste of time, but that one was fantastic!

Love the little one and the card and OMG this is the first time I've taken note of Serendipity Stamps. I'm on their website now trying to decide which stamps to purchase first -- they are just the best ever. Thanks so much for showcasing the one.
