Oh my gosh, we are supposed to get a foot or more of SNOW!!! The schools already closed for today in anticipation of this huge storm. I'm glad because then I won't have to venture out to get them early since school would definitely be closed early.
My SIL and BIL bought a beautiful farmhouse in New Caanan CT so I wanted to make a little house warming gift for them. I found a Maya Road paper mache house at my LSS. It was so cute and I couldn't wait to alter it. Their house is white with black shutters so I tried a replicate it.
I made a matching card as well. Here is a closer look at the card and my cat Waldo that climbed into my lightbox while I was taking the pictures! LOLOL!!! I'll just give the recipe's for the cards & house and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Card ingredients: Paper: Select White CS (PTI), Brown Bazzill and Basic Black & Going Gray CS. The DP is just some scraps I had laying around. Other: Mini brads, pink flower soft, Key tag punch, MS branch punch, SU! buttons and linen thread, glue dots, sponge, scallop border punch, white gel pen
Ingredients: Quickutz grass die, sponge, Mellow Moss CS, Black and White acrylic paint, Vintage Cream CS, Brown Bazzill CS
This is the roof and chimney. I used my SU! scallop punch and Going Gray CS. I sponged each strip and used a glue stick to stick them on. The chimney is Bravo Burgundy CS and was embossed using my mosaic embossing folder.
Here are the thank you notes I included inside the house ~
Here are a couple of pics of 2 of the cards ~
The base of all of these cards is Kraft CS and the lower panels are all Select White CS. The tree and sentiment are included in the Through the Trees stamp set by PTI. I stamped the trunk using Chocolate Chip Craft ink and the tree leaves are Old Olive Craft ink. I added some Martha Stewart confetti hearts on a couple cards, some buttons and some small punched flowers. I used all different border punches. All ribbon is from PTI and is Dark Chocolate and Orange Zest.
Thats all for now and thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
