Crazy 4 Challenges ~ A Pleat Challenge.....

Good Morning!

WOW, it's 7 a.m. and already 80 outside!!  It's going to be another cooker!!!!  Usually in the summer, I don't get in the pool until July because I need it to be REALLY hot and the water not so cold.  Well....I have already been in.  In fact I got in in May!!!  That's ok though because I like the heat more than the cold and our last Winter was LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG!!!

The base of this card is Dark Chocolate and is 5" square.  The layout is based on Clean and Simple Stampings FTL#92.  All of the decorative paper is from Basic Grey's Capella Collection.  I used my Janome Sew Mini to stitch around the top layer and used my SU! scallop border punch to make a decorative border under my pleats WHICH I might add came already pleated and are by Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage Collection!  Yes, I cheated!!! LOLOL!!!  I cut the bird from chipboard using my SU! Bird and Blooms Sizzlet dies.  I first painted it with off white acrylic paint and then added Rose Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger.  I then added a Pink Paislee Artisan Elements flourish which I received from my sweet friends Julee!  The final step was to add some pink Prima pearls, a grey Prima flower folded in half for the wings and then an Imaginisce pearl brad.  The bird and flourish were then mounted on a circle of Capella Decorative Paper and then a pink blossom cut using my Spellbinder die.
