Hi!
I can't believe my kids are out for summer break starting tomorrow! It usually takes us a couple weeks to get in to our routine and not annoy each other SO much and then by the time they go back to school, I'm so used to having them with me that I miss them!!! I know, I AM a lunatic!! LOL!!! Before I go on to my card, Lindsey has made the difficult decision to close her store, Jacksonbelle Embellishments. She has marked EVERYTHING down 30% so get on over there quick as the products won't last long!
Today's Serendipity Stamps challenge is to make a Sympathy card. I didn't put a sentiment on my card because I think it can also be used for a Father's Day card. I LOVE how detailed Serendipity Stamps are and today's image is no exception.
The base of this card is Going Gray with a mat of True Black and then Kraft. I sponged the Kraft CS and distressed the edges. The decorative paper is from Basic Grey's Boxer Collection. I added some Natural Hemp twine. The awesome image is one of the BRAND NEW stamps Mary just released and is called Train Engine. I stamped it on Going Gray CS using Black Momento ink and then colored using a few Copics. You can't see it in the picture but I added some glitter with my Copic Spica glitter pens. I then ran the image through my Fiskars corrugator multiple times in different directions. This distresses the paper really well. I then waded it up, flattened it out and then sponged the edges. I then matted the image with True Black.
We all used the same sketch and I will add that in as soon as I get home from taking my kids to school. I can't seem to locate it right this minute.....so organized!!! LOLOL!!!
Be sure to check out what my teammates did with this challenge!
Have a great day!
