Dude.....Is that a Christmas Card?????

I have a couple of unconventional Christmas cards to share!  I made them as samples for a friend of mine who's office is looking to purchase Christmas cards.  Their company is a Hawaiian based company so of course, I had to use my Verve, Relax set!

For the layout of this card, I TOTALLY CASEd my fellow Diva, Jen Tapler!  I LOVED her card HERE!  The base is Kraft CS with a mat of True Black.  The bottom portion of the card is Baja Breeze and then I added a strip of some OLD Bo Bunny paper and then on top some OLD Basic Grey paper.  I stamped the surfboards on both patterns of DP, Pure Poppy CS, Eggplant CS and Pumpkin Pie CS.  I then made the "sand" which is just Kraft CS torn and sponged with Antique Linen ink.  I then added the surboards, faux Christmas lights (misc. Stickles and a black marker) and the sentiment, which is from Verve's Ornamental Christmas.

Here is my second card which used the SAME Verve stamps ~

This card also has a base of Kraft CS and then a mat of Artichoke.  The "sky" is Select White and was sponged using Bashful Blue ink.  The "sand" is also Kraft CS and again, sponge with Antique Linen ink.  The "water" is K&Co. glitter paper.  The outline of the trees were stamped using Cocoa Memento and for the inside of the trees I used Artichoke ink.  The trunk of the trees was also stamped using Cocoa Memento and then I colored using Copics.  I then free hand added the Christmas lights using a brown marker and miscellaneous Stickles.  The sun was stamped using Black Memento WHICH I have no idea why I used black on the sun or the sentiment because now looking at it, I should have used Cocoa BUT it's too late now!! LOL!!!  The sun was colored using Prismacolor Pencils.

Again, I used the Relax and Ornamental Christmas sets on  this card as well!

Waltzingmouse Snowman Wishes.....

Happy Monday!

I LOVE my card I am going to show you today!  I love that it was such an easy card to make!  I just received my FIRST set of Waltzingmouse Stamps and wanted to use them so badly so I paired up my Waltzingmouse frame with a darling Hampton Arts Snowman stamp that I have had for at least a year and never used!

The base of this card is Select White and is 5" square.  The next layer is Spring Rain and then Kraft.  The image is from Hampton Arts and was stamped on Select White using Black Memento ink.  I colored using Prismacolor Pencils, cut the image out using my oval Nesties and then added clear Martha Stewart glitter.  The ribbon is also Spring Rain.  The mat below the ribbon is an awesome frame stamp from Waltzingmouse's Very Vintage Labels 4 set and was stamped on Kraft CS using Snow White ink.  I then cut it out using my Labels 4 Nesties, matted it with the red polka dot paper from Basic Grey's Oliver Collection and then Select White again.

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ A Lattice Challenge....

Good Morning!

What beautiful weather we have been having here in Virginia!  It has been one hot and humid Summer so it is really nice to have a break from the humidity especially because we will be at the football field all morning!!

Today's Crazy challenge is to use lattice on our cards.  This can be a scored background, stamp, punch, decorative paper....anything!

The base of this card is Whisper White and is 5" square.  My layout is based on Mercy's sketch 88.  The next mat is True Black and then a piece of THIS Jibber Jabber paper by Jillibean Soup.  The green decorative paper panel is from Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage collection and was matted with Whisper White CS.  The Pure Poppy CS was scored, using my Scor-pal, to have a lattice look.  I also punched the bottom of the panel using my Martha Stewart Lattice border punch.

Oh my gosh, is this image absolutely DARLING or what???  I found it in Heather Ellis' Etsy store HERE!  If you don't know who Heather is, she is the illustrator of all of the Pure Innocence stamps and others.  You can see all of her Digi images HERE in her Etsy store.  I colored using my Copics, add white sparkly fluff to her hat & boot trim and hand made some snow mounds and of course added some clear glitter.  I then added a piece of gingham ribbon I have had for quite some time and it matched perfectly!  I love when that happens!

Something Old, Something New.....

Hello!

It isn't my turn yet to show you my project for this month's Verve Project Parade BUT, I do have a card I made for the release and hadn't shown yet that will work perfectly for the challenge!!!  The challenge is to use an old Verve stamp set and a NEW TO YOU Verve stamp set on your card or project.  You can see all the details HERE on the Verve blog!

 

The base of this card is Soft Suede with a mat of Select White and then Soft Suede again.   The decorative paper is all from Webster's Pages Holiday papers from last year.  The focal piece is the blue/green DP from the same collection and I stamped the small snowflakes and sentiment, from Verve's OLD Winter Wonder, using Soft Suede ink (sentiment) and Antique Linen (snowflakes).  The tree is from another OLD Verve set called O Christmas Tree and was stamped on Select White CS using Cocoa Memento ink and then I added clear Martha Stewart fine glitter on the branches using my Quickie glue pen.  I then stamped the doves, which are from Verve's NEW Love Story set, using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  This piece was then matted on a Soft Suede oval, adhered on the card using dimensionals and then I added bronze Zva rhinestones.

Season's Greetings ~ New Serendipity Stamps.....

I'm back!  I haven't had a chance to play along with the SCS Wednesday sketch for month's and when I looked at today's, I thought it would be PERFECT for THIS Brand New Serendipity Stamp that was just released!  To see the rest of the amazing Fall/Winter stamps, go HERE!

 

The picture makes this card look more washed out than it is.  I wanted it to take on an antique feel but it looks so bland here but really is not in real life!!! lol  Anyway, the base is Dark Chocolate with a mat of Select White and then a piece of DP from Basic Grey's Wassail Collection.  The truck image was stamped on Select White using Cocoa Momento ink and again on the Memory Box DP using Antique Linen ink.  I colored the image using a combination of Prismacolor Pencils, Copic Markers and a blender pen & Antique Linen ink.

I then added the Pure Poppy ribbon and K&Co. pewter snowflake brad.  The glitter is coarse Martha Stewart clear glitter and was added using my Quickie glue pen....of course!!! LOL!!!

I stamped the inside using THIS Brand New Season's Greetings sentiment on Select White using Antique Linen ink ~

Serendipity Wednesday ~ Celebrate Baby.....

Good Morning!

I hope that things will start to quiet down around here now that my kids went back to school tomorrow and next week my new renters will move in to one of my rental properties I have had to show all summer.  I feel like summer flew by with the kids camps and BOTH of my rental properties were vacant so I spent the majority of my "free" time showing the properties and CLEANING as well as the yards!  I am so tired of cleaning and keeping up with 3 homes!  Needless to say, my house is the home that was so neglected but now, I am starting to feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.   Enough of my babbling and on to my card!

Today's Serendipity Stamps challenge is to celebrate baby.  I used THIS darling carriage set on my card today but this isn't the ONLY baby stamp Serendipity has!  You can see all of their darling baby themed stamps HERE!

 

The base of this card is Select White with a mat of light brown Bazzill.  I then added a layer of Kraft and 5 layers of DP from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite Collection that I punched using my Doily punch.  I added a Select White strip under the bottom doily layer and narrow white Offray ribbon on the top.

The image was stamped on Select White using Cocoa Momento and cut out using my square Nesties.  I colored using a combination of Ranger Antique Linen ink & blender pen and Copic Markers.  Here is a closer look at the darling detail of the image ~

I made a little bow from the Offray ribbon and topped it off with a little pink button and linen thread.  I added pink Liquid Pearls on the little heart pillow although it is hard to see.  Before removing the Nesties, I sponged Antique Linen ink on the edges and then matted using the same light brown Bazzill CS.

Verve Sneak Peek ~ Just Because.....

I'm back for another sneak peek!  Today's amazing Verve set is called Great Friend.  This set includes 12 stamps, 9 images and 3 sentiments.   Here is my card ~

It's a very simple card and based on another one of Julee's Anni-VERVE-sary sketches found HERE!  The base of this card is Razleberry.  I added a Kraft strip at the bottom and all of the DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl Collection.   The sentiment was stamped on Kraft using Cocoa Momento and the flower was stamped on Kraft CS using Raspberry Fizz (PTI) ink and then I used the kissing technique with the background stamp from Grateful Elegance.  The outline of the flower is Cocoa Momento.  I cut the flowers out, layered them and added pearls and rhinestones.

Verve Sneek Peek ~ Kind Words......

 

I think today's card is my favorite so far!  I LOVE how it turned out and let me tell you, using Julee's stamps, makes it MUCH easier to create a card you will love!!!  Today we are spotlighting 2 stamps sets, Kind Words and Happy Hello.  I used Kind Words on my card today ~

The base of this card is Select White with a mat of Kraft and finally some darling DP from Basic Grey's Going Green Collection.  Oh and BTW, my layout is one of the 5 AWESOME new release sketches found HERE!   The green strip is also from the Going Green Collection and was punched using my doily punch.  The orange ribbon is from Michael's.

I stamped the flowers on Kraft CS using Snow White ink from PTI.  After that dried, I stamped the beautiful sentiment over the top using Black Momento.  I then matted the piece with Select White and added a couple green rhinestones.

 

I made the flower using Select White CS and 2 sizes of my scalloped circle Nesties.  I used crumpled them up and then added a Kraft fabric brad in the center.

The sentiment in black is from Verve's One Person set and was stamped using Black Momento.  The flowers were stamped using Versamark.

Verve Sneak Peek ~ Dream Big.....

Good Morning!  My card today is peeking another one of Verve's new release stamps sets called Dream Big.  I have been working on my samples over the past couple of days and I'm thinking that this release is DEFINITELY one of my most favorite releases yet!  I have loved all of my cards and just look at the stamps and can't wait to use them!! lol  Too bad I don't have weeks to play with them but that's ok, I have gotten a few done!  I am sharing one with you today that includes the flower and ONE of the beautiful sentiments ~ DREAM BIG.

 

The base of this card is Dusty Durango which I might add has NEVER been used.  How sad is that?!?  The next layers are Dark Chocolate and then Select White.  The "grass" is Celery CS that was punched using my Martha Stewart grass punch and then embossed using my swirls embossing folder.

The flowers were stamped on Select White using Dusty Durango ink, cut out and then along the outside edges, I colored using my Tan Copic Spica glitter pen.  I layered the flowers using dimensionals and added a Dark Chocolate button.  The "stem" was sewn by hand using some green floss and the "leaves" are wide celery grosgrain.

Crazy 4 Challenges and a VERVE Sneak Peek!!!!!!

Today is a special Saturday!  I get to spend the day scrapbooking AND I get to show you a sneak peek of one of the new Verve stamps sets to be released Friday!!!  Oh my gosh, I can't decide which set I love the most!!!  Check out the Verve blog for all the details!  Not only are most of the Diva's peeking today but we have 2 WONDERFUL Guest Diva's!!!  Please welcome Sony Christoph and Maureen Plut!  They have some amazing eye candy for you and also, check out the Diva's blogs ~

Now, on to the Crazy challenge which is to use music as your theme, paper, stamp anything!  Here is my card ~

 

The base of this card is Soft Suede with a mat of Vintage Cream and then MME Flea Market DP (I think that is the name LOL).  The top brown piece is Soft Suede and was run through my Cuttlebug using my Floral & Stone Spellbinders Impressabilities template.  Before I removed the template from the paper, I stamped the music note background stamp from Prima, using Vintage Cream ink.  The image only shows up on the raised embossed parts.  The pearl flourish is from Prima and the ribbon is from May Arts.  I punched the bottom using my EK Success border punch.  The GORGEOUS image, sentiment and frame are all included in the brand new Verve set called Love Story.  I stamped the inside using more stamps from this set below! 

 

The frame was stamped on Vintage Cream using Soft Suede ink.  I then used a blender pen to shade areas of the frame again using Soft Sky.  The sentiment was also stamped using Soft Suede but I stamped off one time so it would be a little lighter.  The beautiful doves were stamped using Soft Sky.  I stamped them again on a Vintage Cream scrap, cut them out, ran them through my Xyron and added clear Martha Stewart glitter.  The frame was then cut out and mounted on oval DP using dimensionals.
