Hello!
My Nephew's birthday is coming up next month so I thought I better make him a card and of course, since he is a California surfer boy, I HAD to use Verve's Relax and Dude sets! I used 2 other Verve sets but I'll get to that in the details below. My layout is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch found HERE.
The base of this card is Select White with a mat of OLD decorative orange paper I had laying around. The next mat is Kraft. The striped paper down the side is another piece of OLD paper and I do know that this was from SU!. I punched the side using my Fiskars apron border punch, added a strip of Not Quite Navy CS and then Old Olive wide grosgrain. The Dude sentiment was stamped on Kraft using Not Quite Navy ink and then cut out using my circle Nesties. The surfboards were stamped on DP using Not Quite Navy ink, cut out and mounted on Select White CS for the base and Kraft for the "sand". The clouds are from Verve's Up, Up and Away set and were stamped on Select White, 2 times, again using Not Quite Navy ink and then I cut out one of the clouds, added White Sparkly Fluff to both clouds (using my Quickie glue pen) and then added the cut out cloud to the scene using dimensionals. This piece was then matted using Old Olive CS, the sentiment from Big Wish was stamped below the scene using Old Olive ink and then I added some orange rhinestones.
BTW, no your eyes are not seeing the sentiment as being crooked....it IS crooked. Never fails....LOL!!!
Have a great day!

I'm so happy someone actually posted a 'not perfect' card! Good for you. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who has things crooked or 'off' a little. Glad to hear it's not just me!
