Hello!
This is a later post than usual since I just finished a project I made to submit for the Moxie Fab all wrapped up challenge HERE! The submission deadline is tonight! Anyway, when looking at my pictures, I realized, I should have taken a picture of the decorated container BEFORE I added the DELICIOUS White Trash treat inside.
I bought the container at Walmart and it is one of those sealed kind of containers but this one is shatterproof which I thought was a great benefit since I will be sending this as a Christmas gift! Don't worry, my family and I will eat the this batch of White Trash inside and I'll make some new for the Holidays!!!
I must add a disclaimer...this really is much prettier in real life. I'm bummed that my pictures didn't capture how festive it is but here goes ~
The top green ribbon is from May Arts and is holding an ornament/tag that I made hoping for it to look like a wreath. The sentiment is from Verve's O Christmas Tree set and the Real Red snowflakes circle border is also from Verve but from the Winter Wonder set. The black flourish is a rub on from Basic Grey as is the Black Flourish toward the bottom of the jar. I added the green K& Company glitter "wreath" which was cut using my Lacey Circle Spellbinders die. The tiny red rhinestones are from Memory Box and then I layered the wreath on a circle of True Black CS. There is a black velvet strip of ribbon at the top for the recipient to hang it on their tree. The Holiday Sweets black glitter letters are from Making Memories.
Here is a closer look ~
I will give you the recipe for the AMAZING "White Trash" treat at the end of my post! Anyway, the birds are some leftover rub ons I had from last year that I had bought at Micheal's.
I added some clear Prima rhinestones on parts of the flourish as well as some more of the red Memory Box rhinestones on the leaves.
I added a Prima Winter Rose in the corner for the final touch!
Now, for the White Trash! My friend Lisa has made this for me for a long time and finally, I asked her for the MUCH coveted recipe so I can make it for family this Christmas and I PROMISED her that if she gave me the recipe, I wouldn't tell a soul!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!
Here is the recipe ~
Chex cereal (any variety) Rice 1st choice or Corn 2nd choice!
Cheerios
Pretzels
Raw Almonds
M&M’s
Nestle’s white chocolate (I use 3 bags per batch…)
Mix all ingredients in a big bowl. Gently melt the white chocolate one minute at a time in the microwave stirring after second minute till smooth. Pour over the trail mix and stir well.
Put the mixture on either wax paper or silpat (non stick) liners and cool completely. Once cool, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
I hope you have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!
~Lynda

Your container is beautiful and such a wonderful idea! I love this stuff - so in case your family can't devour all this, I have my mouth open waiting for a bite. Thank you for your recipe in case I can't find mine since my son will be hitting me up for some.
