Hi!
I have an ornament to share with you today. I was inspired by an ornament my daughter and I saw at Kohl's. The one at Kohl's was selling for $7.99! I thought, WOW, I can make that for a lot less than $7.99 so I did. Of course mine is different but there are a lot of things you can do with this idea. I initially thought how cute the Crafty Secrets cloth images (I don't have any so I don't know exactly what they are called!) would look! I will have to get some though! Anyway, here is my take ~
The base of this ornament is 4 1/2" x 6". The base is actually Brown glitter cardstock. I got it at my LSS a while ago and don't remember who it is by. I punched the edges using my SU! border and corner punches. The DP is from Webster's Pages Holiday paper collection from last year and was matted on Select White CS. The Peace on Earth sentiment is from Verve's Winter Wonder and was stamped using Ranger Frayed Burlap ink.
The birds were punched from the same Webster's Pages DP and Brown glitter paper. They are sitting on a beautiful Zva pearl flourish. Here is a closer look at the birds and flourish ~
Are you wondering about the flower???? Oh my gosh, I MADE the flowers! They are SO easy and so fun. The big flower on the bottom was my first. The reason it is there is because I messed up the punching of that corner so what else is someone to do but cover it up!!! LOLOL!!! I will get the details together as far as my flower for my post tomorrow.
Here is a closer look at my large flower ~
The center got a little messed up but I thought it turned out pretty good for my first try! I added a couple Artichoke leaves which I made using the SU! bird punch.
Here is a closer look at the small flower ~
The SU! lace was adhered by adding 2 pink eyelets in each corner and taping it to the back. I then added a piece of CS to cover it up in the back. I inserted the lace from the front so the ornament wouldn't fall forward when it is hung.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow and I will have all the details about making these flowers yourself! BTW, I did not come up with this on my own, I watched a video on how to make them and then used what I had on hand which I think worked perfectly!
Have a great day!

Beautiful flowers and I love the punched birds-neat ornament. Why buy something when you can reproduce it yourself? Great job.
