Featured Stamper Sunday ~ Through the Trees.....

Hi!

Long time no see!!!  I have been around, just REALLY busy.  I don't know about you but I still am not ready for Christmas!  It's coming too fast darn it! 

My card today was a very simple card based on THIS card of today's featured stamper, MaryRose.  I loved the simplicity of it so thought I would CASE it!

The base of the card is Select White with a mat of True Black, Going Gray and finally another mat of Select White.  To make the sponged retangle background, I cut a rectangle window in a scrap piece of CS using my Nesties.  I then used post it notes to hold the scrap in place on top of the Select White top panel and sponged Going Gray ink.  I then stamped the trees from PTI's Through the Trees set using Black Memento ink.    I then added a piece of narrow black satin ribbon and a miscellaneous silver buckle and then stamped the bird using Cherry Cobbler ink.

This is a perfect card for this time of year because it was so easy!  I didn't put a sentiment as I think it will work for multiple occasions.

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ A Sketch that is for THE BIRDS.....

Hello!

I hope you are all ready for the upcoming Holiday and staying warm!!  Oh my gosh, it has been so cold here in Virginia.  I don't like to be cold! 

Today's Crazy challenge is an awesome sketch!  This will be our last challenge for the rest of December and then we will be starting back up in January.  This is such a busy time of year, we thought it best for us and you to take a little break but be sure to check back in 2 weeks as we will have a new hostess, challenges and sponsor!

 

Here is my card ~

The base of this card is Early Espresso and is 4 1/4" square.  The next mat is Kraft and the squares are K&Co. glitter paper and each square is matted with Select White CS.  The bird house stamp is called Bird Watching and is from Papertrey.  I stamped the image on Kraft CS using Cocoa Memento ink and then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I added some white on the roofs using my white gel pen and then added Stardust Stickles on top as well as a little on the ground.  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler seam binding from SU!.  The sentiment is from Verve's O Christmas Tree set and was stamped on Select White CS using Early Espresso ink, punched out using my Martha Stewart tag punch and then tied on using linen thread.

Here is a little matching bird house that I made using Nichole's DARLING bird house template HERE.

That seam binding does not tie very well OR maybe it is me?!?!? LOL!!!  I decided to make these darling bird houses for the kids teachers and some friends.  They are so cute!  For the inside, I made some heart bird seed balls to hang outside during cold weather months to feed the birds!  Before I go on to that, the CS I used on the house is Early Espresso (roof), Kraft (house), Mellow Moss and Early Espresso (SU! bird & branch punch leaves), Select White (bird stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out) and Artichoke (Martha Stewart fern punch).  I used silver beads and silver cord to "hang" the sign.

Here is a picture of the seed heart before I decorated it.  I read on line that hot glue is safe for birds so I glued on some rope that I got from SU!  a few years ago ~

I wrapped the heart in a cello bag, tied the red seam binding on the back and brought it up through the holes in the roof to tie into a BEAUTIFUL bow!!! LOL!!!

This is my last picture!  I made another birdhouse with a tag, like Nichole's.  I thought these would be best for the teachers ~

A couple more things....for the roof, I embossed it using my Quickutz folder and the tag is Verve's Sweet Scallop stamp.

Serendipity Stamps Wednesday ~ January Birthday....

Hello!

I hope it is warmer where you are compared to our freezing weather here in Virginia!  Oh my gosh, it is so cold that I don't even want to leave the house!  LOL!! 

I am late in posting today as I haven't felt well and then my stupid computer, the wireless card works sometimes and then doesn't others....so frustrating!  Anyway, our Serendipity challenge this week is to use one of the DARLING oval month stamps found HERE and make a Birthday card.  I chose January and now I have my Uncle's birthday card done!!!  It isn't a real masculine card but he will be so glad that I remembered that he won't care!  His birthday is on the 2nd of January and after all the Christmas festivities, he kindof gets forgotten....LOL!!!

Here is the sketch ~

You will notice that I flipped the sketch ~

The base of this card is Vintage Cream with a mat of Soft Suede and then the decorative paper from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather Collection.  The strip is also from the same DP collection and matted with Soft Suede and Vintage Cream.  I stamped the January image on Vintage Cream using Cocoa Memento ink, cut it out and colored it using my Copic markers.  This was then matted on a decorative mat from Mitten Weather cut using Labels Fourteen Spellbinders dies.  I then added some clear rhinestones and May Arts ivory burlap string.

For the inside, I used the same papers and stamped the Happy Birthday using Cocoa Memento ink.

Featured Stamper Sunday ~ My Confidante.....

Good Morning!

This is my card for today's featured stamper.  This week there is a different featured stamper challenge and it is to choose one of the past 199 featured stampers and CASE one of them!  How fun is that?  I didn't get a chance to CASE Tobi a few weeks ago so that is who's gallery I chose!  She is so talented!  HERE is her card that I CASEd.

Here is my card~

The base of my card is Sage Shadow with a mat of Early Espresso CS.  The top piece is glossy white CS.  I TOTALLY CASEd this idea from Theresa Momber.  Oh my gosh, I just loved her card and have wanted to CASE it since last week so here it is!

I masked off the bottom portion with a sticky note like Theresa did and then sponged layers of Ranger Antique Linen, Going Gray, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.  I then stamped the trees from PTI's Through the Trees set using Black Memento ink.  I then added "snow" on the trees just like Theresa did, using my white gel pen.  I then stamped the birds which are also included in the Through the Trees set, using my Versamark and then used heat and stick powder, melted it and added red glitter. 

For the lower "snow" portion, I used the post it notes as she said and sponged first a little Antique Linen and then Soft Sky so actually, the snow took on a little sage color but it looks really pretty anyway!  I then stamped the beautiful sentiment from Verve's Because of You on the snow using Black Memento ink.  I then used my Quickie glue pen and added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the mounds.  I added some snowflakes using Antique Linen ink and a snowflake from Verve's Winter Wonder set.

I made this card for a friend who asked me if I would make a sentimental Christmas card for her boyfriend.  On the inside, I stamped one of the beautiful sentiments from Verve's One Person set.  Here is a look at that ~

The trees were stamped using Antique Linen ink and the sentiment was stamped using Early Espresso ink.  I added a little red glitter heart using my Martha Stewart heart confetti punch.

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Butterfly Thanks....

Here is my card ~

 
The base of this card is Early Espresso.  The off white and beautiful blue decorative paper is from MME's Flea Market Collection.  The top Early Espresso piece was embossed using my SU! Victorian Wallpaper folder.  The lace is some old lace I had in my stash, added a SU! vintage pin and added the Martha Stewart tag that was stamped using a sentiment from Verve's Circular Sayings set.  Timage is an old Inkadinkado stamp and was stamped 2 times on the Flea Market paper and one was cut out.  I added a few clear rhinestones because I had to!! LOLOL!!

Viva la Verve Sneak Peek and Blog Hop!!!

Not only is this the second and final day of sneak peeks but I am so excited to be this weeks Viva la Verve  guest hostess this week!   We are giving Amber a little break this month so each week a different Diva will be hostessing!  You can find all the details HERE in the SCS forum.  The theme this month is Ornaments and Winter decor.  Here is my sketch ~

Here is my card ~

The base of this card is Select White, Early Espresso and Jillibean Soup DP on top and Echo Park Wintertime DP in the center and bottom.  I added a small scalloped border using my EK Success punch.  The frame was cut from Select White CS and I used Spellbinders Labels Fourteen to cut it out.  Before removing the die, I stamped the cheerful friend script from Verve's NEW set called Text Objects.  This is an awesome set!!  Wait until you see all the awesome stamps included in the set!  Anyway, I stamped the text using Soft Sky ink and then removed the die which then left a white frame.  The leaves are punched from 2 shades of Bazzill Brown CS using my SU! Bird & Branches punch.  The cute little bird, from the brand new set called Wordy Birds, was stamped on the same decorative red paper and cut out.  I pieced his wing by stamping him on Select White CS, cut the wing out and colored using my Copics.  The Just for You sentiment is from Glad Tidings and was stamped using Early Espresso ink.  The friend sentiment is from also from the new Text Objects set and was stamped on a light blue piece of DP also from Echo Park and punched out using my Martha Stewart tag punch.  I tied the tag on a clear SU! heart button and added some silver beads.

Mojo Monday ~ Happy Holidays...

This is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  I TOTALLY screwed up the sketch!  I swear, sometimes I just amaze myself!! LOLOL!!!  My printer wasn't working so I didn't print it and see what happens, I didn't do it right!!! LOLOLOL!!  Anyway, if you would like to play along, please follow the sketch!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ~

Here is my card ~

I have been known to tweak the sketch a little but this is crazy!  The base of this card is Select White with a mat of Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Kraft and finally, I piece of snowflake DP from Imaginisce that I cut using my scalloped rectangle Nesties.  I sewed a smaller rectangle piece of vellum on top and add the two trees and snow mound that are from Verve's Christmas in the Air set.  The sentiment is from Verve's Glad Tidings set and was stamped on one of the decorative tags from Sizzix Lots of Tags dies.  I added 3 little stars, JUST LIKE THE SKETCH SAID, that I punched from my Martha Stewart star confetti punch.

Verve Sneak Peek Blog Hop......

Hello!

Today we are celebrating another Verve release with a blog hop! If you came from Michelle's blog then you are right on track. If you did not, I have a list of participants at the end of my post in case you are interested!

For my first card, I used the Verve's NEW set called Amazing Wishes ~

The base of this card is 5" square and is Select White CS.   the next layer is True Black with a mat of a bluish/green piece of paper from Basic Grey's Olivia Collection.  The next layer is first True Black and then Select White.  I scored the top piece in to quarters and then added a polka dot embossed square under the pink flower.  I used my circle Nesties to cut the 3 circles, added the same pink paper (all from Olivia) inside the circles and then stamped the darling flower from Amazing Wishes on the DP using my Versamark and heat embossed.  I cut them all out, mounted them on dimensionals and added a black SU! button on the pink flower as well as THIS pink burlap string.

Here is a picture of the inside!  YES, the sentiment is crooked!!!  What the heck?!?!? LOL!!  I didn't notice until I was editing the picture and didn't have time to fix it!!  I used the same NEW set, Amazing Wishes and Vintage Oval Stamp as well as the coordinating die.

The border was punched on the True Black CS using one of my Fiskars border punches.

Verve Winter Project Parade ~ Day 10....

Today it is my turn to share with you my project for this months Verve Project Parade!  You can see the projects the other Diva's have come up with all in one place HERE on the Verve blog.  Our theme this month is Triple Play so with that in mind, I made an ornament with coordinating gift box and card.  The ornament will be a repeat for some of you but I love making them and they are so cute & easy!

The container is a paper mache cylinder that I got at Joanne's for $1 some time ago. I covered it with decorative paper from Echo Parks, Wintertime Collection. Boy do I LOVE this paper!!!On the cylinder, I glued on a string of pearls that I got from Hobby Lobby for CHEAP and added Kaiser Craft purple rhinestones on one of the trees as well as the snowflakes around the top. Details on the lid and card will follow.

Here is a picture of the snowman ornament. I made a little charm for his hat using the largest snowflake from the new Glad Tidings set, Timber Brown Stazon, Polyshrink and some lavender Stickles.

A closer look at the container ~
Here are the details on the lid. I covered the outside edge with brown Bazzill CS. I found the best way to adhere the paper to the paper mache is to glue it so I used Elmer's glue. I then cut a large circle of Bo Bunny brown polka dot paper from their Winter Joy Collection,that ALMOST covered the entire lid. I then added a large white snowflake that I cut using my Spellbinders die. On top of that I added a Spellbinders Lacey Circle cut from purple Bo Bunny DP. I then cut a smaller Spellbinders snowflake from white glitter paper and then stamped the largest snowflake from Verve's Glad Tidings on white CS using Cocoa Memento. I cut out the center portion of the snowflake, added some purple rhinestones and tied the same charm (on the snowman's hat) in the center using brown bakers twine. Oh and I did add purple Stickles on the back of the charm to add some shine!!! Here is a closer look ~
For the little notecard.......the size of the card is 3x3 and was cut from the same Brown Bazzill CS I put around the outside of the container lid. I then stamped the tree from Verve's Christmas in the Air set on the same purple Bo Bunny DP using Cocoa Memento ink and cut it out. I added another snowflake charm, rhinestones and SNOW!!! LOL!!!


Here is the inside which I used one of the awesome sentiments and snowflakes included in the Glad Tidings set!
