What a fun post I have for you today! You will DEFINITELY want to take part in this party! Oh my gosh, there are HUGE prizes to be had!!!! Verve is one of the sponsors so for my card today, I used some awesome Verve stamps!
If you are not familiar with the Color Throwdown blog, it is a color challenge blog that every Wednesday, they provide color combinations for you to base your card on. You can check it out HERE! The color challenge this week is Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, Real Red and Celery.
The layout of this based on Clean & Simple Stampings FTL95. The base of this card is Dark Chocolate with a mat of Regal Rose and Real Red just along the bottom. I punched the bottom of the Regal Rose piece using my EK Success mini scallop border punch. My hills were made using my Creative Memories wavy cutter and Celery CS. I layered them and pierced along the edges. I then stamped the tree and hot air balloon, both from Verve's Up, Up and Away set, using Cocoa Momento ink directly on the MME DP. I stamped the tree and balloon again on Select White CS, again using Cocoa Momento ink, colored them with Copics and cut just the top of the tree and balloon & basket out. I mounted the tree top using dimensionals and the basket and balloon were adhered right on the DP.
The sentiment is from Verve's NEW Blue Skies stamp set and was stamped on a Select White cloud I cut using MFT's cloud dies using Cocoa Momento ink. I also sponged a little Baja Breeze ink around the edges of the cloud. The final step was to add the Regal Rose grosgrain and May Arts red & white polka dot ribbon.
I don't know about the weather where you are but Oh My Gosh it has been hot here in VA and not a drop of rain in weeks. I have lived here for almost 20 years and have never experienced a drought like this. One of our rental houses is on a well and yesterday, the well went dry. It has recovered a little but I actually have to BUY water to put in the well!!! I swear, it's always something!!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!!!
