Oh my gosh, what an appropriate stamp set for me to use today! My allergies are HORRIBLE!!! I have had to change my contacts twice today, took my Allegra AND a Benedryl and am still miserable ~ just ask my husband!!!! LOL!!!
The reason I prefaced the unveiling of my card with the above, is because that in the case that anything is crooked, doesn't look right, it is NOT MY FAULT ~ my vision is impaired (not only that, I'm OLD!).... hahahahahaha! This card is my entry for CPS' Sketch Challenge #29.
The base of my card is Close to Cocoa, stamped with Close to Cocoa and my Canvas background stamp. I used the distressing tool on all edges. The next layer is Vanilla and then Saffron. I stamped the Saffron mat with the same Canvas stamp and Close to Cocoa ink (because I couldn't come up with something else that would look better!) and sponged the entire piece.
The flower from Fancy Pants ~ Pollen Dust collection, which I bought from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I inked up the flower with Saffron Craft ink and then used my foam brayer and gently rolled each petal end with Close to Cocoa Craft ink. I then took the swirl from the same set and stamped on the flower to have the swirl image show through ~ this technique is called kissing. I masked the petals and stamped the swirl on the bottom and top using some Artichoke and Close To Cocoa Craft ink.
This didn't turn out exactly like I had envisioned but it was fun doing a new technique. I stamped Believe from Bella Brush (Fancy Pants) using Basic Brown ink.
The photo corner was punched using my SU! photo corner punch and it was stamped with Canvas using Close to Cocoa. I used 3 Aged Copper brads to decorate it. For the center of the flower I used a Making Memories Aged Copper decorative brad. I also used 3 more brads for the bottom right of my card. The flower was mounted on Close to Cocoa CS. The ribbon, Cocoa velvet, under the flower is from the SU! Theatre Ribbon Originals. The flower piece is mounted on dimensionals.
I have lots more to share but need to do a few things right now so I will post later..... See ya then!
