SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday ~ Peace and Love to you and yours!!!!

Today's the BIG day!!! LOL!!!  I want to post my card for today's sketch challenge first and then I will post my FIRST project for my 12 Days of Christmas surprise!!!!  It's not a surprise anymore is it?!?!?!?

Here is my card for today ~

The base of my card is light brown card stock from Prism.  The next mat is Whisper White and then a decorative mat of brown snowflake paper from Cosmo Crickets ~ Oh Joy Collection.  The 3 squares on the bottom are Whisper White and then the same light brown Prism cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug using my Swiss Dots folder.  I punched the snowflakes from Soft Sky cardstock and then added White MS glitter using my Quickie glue pen.  They are adhered using a piece of a dimensional.  The ribbon is THIS May Arts tan twill.  I added a little knot of Soft Sky double stitched grosgrain as well. 

The focal image is THIS Serendipity stamp.  I stamped it on Whisper White card stock using Basic Black ink.  I colored using a combination of Soft Sky ink & a blender pen and Prismacolor Pencils.  I added MS "snow" to all the areas I could using Elmer's glue.  I also added Sunny Shimmerz in all the windows and Silver Bells Shimmerz to the smoke so this card is REALLY shiny IRL!!!!  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White as well using Basic Black ink and I cut it out using my Creative Memories Wavy cutter.  I added the same MS glitter on the edge of the "snow" hills and then mounted it on the bottom of the image using dimensionals.  The ribbon was run underneath the sentiment.  Here is a close up of the sentiment ~

MDC Thursday Challenge ~ A Sketch and I'm late!!!

To keep up with my normal way of doing things LATEly (get it???  funny huh?!?!?) LOL!!!! I am posting my MDC card today, Friday!!!!   This week's challenge is a sketch!  Maria came up with the sketch and you know what, now that I look at it, I forgot to add a little something to the bottom right of the card!!! LOL!!!  OK, so you all knew I couldn't follow directions right!!  LOL!!!

The base of my card is Chocolate Chip card stock with a mat of first Real Red and then Whisper White which was embossed with last years snowflake CB folder.  I sponged the Real Red mat a little with Chocolate Chip ink and sponged the white snowflake piece with Soft Sky ink to tone the colors down a little.  The horizontal mat is first Chocolate Chip card stock and then a piece of DP from Basic Grey's Archaic Collection.  The ribbon is first the new Chocolate felt SU! ribbon and then on top is SU!'s Soft Sky double stitched ribbon.  The focal image is THIS Serendipity Holiday Mailbox stamp and was stamped on white card stock using Basic Black ink.  I colored using a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and my Soft Sky & Baja Breeze ink pads along with a blender pen.  I added a clear Martha rhinestone to the center of the red box and added white Martha glitter to all parts of the image that looked like snow!!!!  I used Elmer's glue and a paint brush to adhere it!  I matted this on Chocolate Chip card stock and then used dimensionals to adhere it to the front of the card.

Another Saturday, another football game for Joey, another OCC challenge.....BUT, this Saturday is different!!!  Today is my little boys' 11th Birthday!  Oh boy, I remember those 3 days well!!! LOL!!!   I can't believe how quickly those years have gone....  Dang, I'm starting to feel REALLY old now so I think I will move on and tell you about my card!!

First of all, I want to thank you all so much for playing along with my challenges last month!  I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!  This month our challenges are hosted by Denise!!!  She has some AWESOME challenges in store so lets get started!!!  Lori McAree is our guest designer this week!  You can see Lori's beautiful card HERE!  This weeks challenge is to color.  Yes, just color.  Color using anything!!!!  I LOVE coloring so this challenge was PERFECT!!!

Here is my card ~                                                                                                                                           
The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock with a mat of first Whisper White and then a piece of patterned paper from the SU! Ski Slope collection.  The piece across the center is first Chocolate Chip cardstock and then another pattern from the Ski Slope Collection.  My layout is is base on Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #58.  I added some brown gingham and SU! felt snowflakes which I covered with Elmer's glue and then some Martha white glitter!  The focal image is THIS darling stamp from Serendipity.  I LOVE their stamps!  They are so fun to color.  I colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils and a blender pen and Baja Breeze ink pad.  I added white flock on the cuff and pockets using my Quickie glue pen.  I also added Christmas Red Stickles on the wreath and holly on his hat.  I added some white Martha glitter on the ground using Elmer's glue.  Here is a close up of the image ~

MDC Thursday on Sunday Challenge ~ Halloween Box....

I know, I know, I AM LATE!!!  I am always late these days....I hate that!!!  I didn't have a ball for the spiders body so I had to run to Michael's to find something.  I wanted a large black pom pom but couldn't find one big enough so I found a styrofoam ball which I painted.  Anyway, the challenge details can be found HERE and here  is my box ~

It's funny because when I look at the box in this picture, it looks kindof dumb!! LOL!!!  Oh well, too late now!!! LOL!!!  The box was made out of 5 of the 50 million 4x4 chipboard coasters I have been  hoarding for years now!!!  I covered 2 of them with THIS decorative paper from Imaginisce and the other 2 with just Basic Black cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug using my spiderweb embossing folder.  The bottom coaster was covered in plain Basic Black cardstock.  The way I adhere my paper or cardstock to the coasters is with a glue stick.  It has worked great for me!  Anyway, once the glue dried, I lightly sanded the edges and then punched the holes.  After the holes were punched, I glued 1 side at a time to the base coaster using Elmer's glue.  This took a little while because I had to let the glue dry.  After I got all 4 sides glued on, I tied eggplant grosgrain in a knot on the bottom holes and black grosgrain knots on the top hole. 

The spider body is a styrofoam ball that I painted with shiny black acrylic paint.  I was going to add flock but the styrofoam added it's own texture so I didn't mess with it (I know, this is a shock!).  I added the pom poms for the eyes and the googlie eyes on top of the pom poms (used Elmer's glue to adhere these).  I used a pointed stick to make a hole through the styrofoam and then ran the black pipe cleaners through and then arranged them how I wanted them to be in order.  To get the spider to "stand" I punched 1/8" holes (4 on each side)  and then stuck the feet through and it held in place perfectly.  BEFORE I put the spider on, I filled a medium sized cellophane bag with Halloween M&M's which I stamped with the spider trail stamp from Inka using Black Stazon ink.    I then added some purple fill and was done.

MDC Thursday Challenge ~ You Make Me Smile!!!

Good Thursday Morning!
Wow, we have a heck of a storm coming in today.  I had to go take down everything that could possibly blow away!!!  Better to do it now than go retrieve it all out of the woods tomorrow!!! LOL!!!  Today's MDC challenge is another sketch!!!  I LOVE sketches and this one was really simple to work with!  I made this card to put in my daughters lunch tomorrow ~ she will be so excited!!!  Here is my card ~

The base of my card is Whisper White with a mat of THIS Bo Bunny cardstock and then THIS Bo Bunny decorative paper.  The strip across the middle is the polka dot side of THIS Bo Bunny cardstock which I punched the edges using my SU! scallop border punch.  BTW, MDC has all of their Bo Bunny on sale this month.  You can check it out HERE!  I then added a strip of Whisper White cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug using my swirls embossing folder.  I then added some white and then coral color May Arts ribbon.  The focal image is THIS one by Serendipity Stamps.  I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I then colored using a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and a blender pen with Cameo Coral, Barely Banana and Ruby Red ink pads.  The sentiment is a rubon from SU! and I added White Flock with my Quickie glue pen to the lamb and chick.  I also added White Liquid Pearls to the centers of the flowers.  I cut the image out using my oval Nestabilities and then used the scalloped oval Nestie to make the polka dot frame around the image.  I used dimensionals to adhere this to the front.  See how easy!!!

MDC Thursday Challenge ~ A Sketch!!!

Good Morning!
Today, Mothers & Daughters Creations, has another sketch challenge!!!  Jennifer put together another great sketch!  You can find all the details HERE on the MDC Challenge blog.  Here is my card based on today's sketch ~

The base of my card is Kiwi Kiss and then a mat of Basic Black and then strips of THIS Imaginisce Halloween paper.  The black lace is by May Arts.  The haunted house is a coordinating Imaginisce stamp that was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink and can be found HERE!  I used my circle Nestabilities to cut it out and then colored with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I also added Stardust Stickles to the windows.  I matted the image with first a scallop circle of Basic Black that I cut using my Nesties as well and then a larger circle of Kiwi Kiss.  This was mounted on the card using dimensionals.  SUPER easy card!!!

Our Creative Corner Saturday Challenge ~ A Sketch!!!

Happy Saturday!!!
Hope you all have a great day so far!!!  Amy is our hostess again this week and her challenge this week is a sketch!!!  I don't know about you but I LOVE sketches!!!   Check out all the OCC details HERE!  I think I got a LITTLE carried away with my bling on this card!!!  I know, you are thinking ~ "AAAAHHH YEAH ~ YA THINK???".  LOL!!!!  I really like it though because I LIKE BLING!!!!!!

The base of my card is Sage Shadow with a mat of Whisper White.  The 2 different decorative paper patterns are from last years SU! Wintergreen Collection.  I first added the snowflake paper to the bottom of the large panel and then I added a strip of another decorative piece which I matted the bottom with Whisper White cardstock that I punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.  I then matted the top with a piece of Soft Sky cardstock that I punched using the same Martha punch.  The white peeking out the top is from the base mat.  The white ribbon is by May Arts and then I added a knot of Soft Sky double stitched ribbon. 

The image from the Season of Joy set which I stamped first on the Whisper White panel using Soft Sky ink and then on a scrap piece of Whisper White, stamped the image again and quickly covered the image with Heat & Stick powder, heated it and then added Martha Stewart white glitter and then heated again for a second.  I then cut out the tree (not the trunk or star) and mounted it on the first stamped tree using dimensionals.   I added the crystal star using my Quickie glue pen and then added THIS Prima flourish to the base and under the tree.  I then cut some of the crystals from the flourish and added them as accents on the top where the Martha border punch punched holes. 

Here is a close up because I KNOW you want to see the bling and glitter!!!! LOL!!!

MDC Thursday Challenge ~ A Sketch!!!

Hello!!!!!
Today is Thursday so that means another Mothers and Daughters sketch challenge!  For all the details on the challenge and to see what the girls have done with this challenge, look HERE!!!

Here is my card ~

The base of my card is Whisper White with a mat of Bravo Burgundy and then 2 rectangles each of THIS and THIS decorative paper by Paper Salon.  The strip across the middle was cut from THIS decorative piece.  I used my small star punch and punched 3 stars from THIS paper and adhered them using dimensionals.  I stamped the horses from THIS Serendipity stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I cut it out using my rectangle Nestabilities.  I left the die on the cut out piece and then colored the image using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I then matted the image on Chocolate Chip cardstock and then sewed in each color using a needle and some Linen thread. 

I know, you are wondering why I'm not babbling on about some insignificant event but I still have to go clean the chicken coop (they do not like a dirty coop) and then go pick my kids up so I will have to save the babbling for tomorrow!!!!  Don't worry, I'll find something stupid to tell you about!!! LOL!!!   Oh wait, I have something funny and kindof gross!!!  When the kids and I came home the other day, I opened the garage and as Joey was walking in he yells, EWWWW, a snake!!!!  Oh boy are those some of my most dreaded words so I got out of the car and went to look at it and due to my poor eyesight I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it!!!  I kept asking the kids, did it get smashed by the garage door??  Is it dead???  Please tell me it is dead!!!!  No, it wasn't dead ~ it was eating a lizard!!!!!  The lizard was about halfway in and so if I wasn't such a WEEEEENNNIIIEEE, I would have grabbed the shovel and killed it but NOOOOOO, I was trying to figure out if the snake was a Copperhead or not!!!!  Copperheads are very dangerous but other snakes are GOOD (WHATEVER!!!!) so in my small mind I was thinking I would hate to decapitate it if it is a good snake and then it would be too late to apologize so Joey went and got my neighbor and Mary was in charge of watching it to watch where it went....well....Mary didn't do her job and we lost the COPPERHEAD somewhere in the garage!!!  LOL!!!  I think my neighbor thinks I am a lunatic!!!   My husband said it probably left since it was full and won't need to eat for a while.....music to my ears!!! LOL!!!

MDC Thursday Challenge ~ A Sketch!!!

Wow, is it hot here today!!  I thought we were supposed to be on the back side of summer!  LOL!!!  My card today is for Mothers and Daughters Creations Thursday challenge which is a sketch!  It is a fantastic sketch too!!!  Jennifer is the host this month for our challenges.  Here is my card ~
This card is also based on today's Ways To Use It challenge at SCS.  The challenge is to use specialty paper.  Now, how many of you have that special embossed, flocked, metallic paper that you just can't cut?!?!?  I know I have some and have it sitting in a special spot for JUST the right occasion!!! LOL!!!  Well, the paper I used today had already been cut in to from a previous card so it wasn't so difficult to use it!

The base of my card is Basic Black with first a mat of Whisper White and then Pink Pirouette.  The sketch includes 4 rectangles so what I did was used THIS beautiful Hanko paper and matted each rectangle with Basic Black cardstock on the Pink Pirouette mat.  The Hanko paper has gold flecks in it and is so beautiful IRL!  The focal image is THIS Corner Vase by Serendipity Stamps.  I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink and then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils for the window frame and Pink Pirouette ink pad & blender pen for the flowers.  I popped up some of the flowers as you can see.  I added gold micro beads to the centers of the flowers using my Quickie glue pen.  I stamped the vase on gold metallic cardstock using Basic Black ink and cut it out.  The ribbon is just some old gold and black satin ribbon I had in my stash.  The gold actually matches the paper perfectly in real life!  I punched the Martha Stewart butterfly from vellum and then the same Hanko paper, adhered them together using my glue pen and then added black rhinestones from THIS collection.  I used dimensionals to adhere the image to the front of the card.

Mothers and Daughters Creations Challenge ~ A Bib for Baby!!!

Good Morning!!!
Today is Thursday and that means another challenge for Mothers and Daughters Creations!  Today's challenge was to make a different shaped card ~ not your standard square or rectangle.  I new exactly what I wanted to make when I saw this challenge!!!  These DID NOT take 2 hours and are SO cute in real life.  It has been so dark and rainy here, I had a hard time getting good pictures!  These were TOTALLY CASE'd from the amazing Debbie Olson.  I saw these on her blog a while ago and just thought how darling they were and that I TOTALLY wanted to CASE her idea!  Here is her tutorial!  Here is my first card ~

I used my oval and circle Nestabilities to make the card base.  Refer to Debbie's tutorial for the exact instructions!  The base of this card is Shimmery White cardstock and the decorative paper is from Imaginisce and can be found HERE!  The celery grosgrain ribbon and the brown button are both from SU!  I used glue dots to adhere the button and the grosgrain bow.  The giraffe image is also from Imaginisce and can be found HERE!  I stamped the image on Shimmery White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink.  I colored him using my Prismacolor pencils and then added tan flock to his body & head using my Quickie glue pen.

Here is my second card ~

I swear, the papers, images, everything, are so much cuter in real life!!! LOL!!!  The base of this card is Whisper White cardstock and the Imaginisce decorative paper I used on this one can be found HERE!  The image is THIS giraffe and was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I colored the polka dots and nose using my Prismacolor pencils.  I added Cotton Candy Stickles to the polka dots and antennas.  The pink button and white grosgrain are both from SU!.  The giraffe was adhered using dimensionals. 

There you go!!!  SUPER simple and so much potential to add lots of fun details!!!  The girls have made some awesome cards this week so be sure to check them out HERE!  Also, don't forget that Tamara has all Basic Grey on sale and is 20% off until the end of the month!!!
