Good Morning!
I am SO excited to share with you my Crazy challenge for today!! First, I need to tell you that our Crazy challenge for this week is to make a card/project based on your favorite vacation spot or activity. What a great idea huh?!?!
I know you are wondering what in the world my favorite vacation spot or activity is when looking at a cherry pie....welll......EATING of course!!!!!! The BEST part of vacation is not having to cook! LOL!!! Before I go on, I have to say that this little pie and cards was NOT my idea. I TOTALLY stole it from my Paper Crafts magazine! I thought it was so darn cute and made one for my daughters teacher ~
I happened to have these little tart tins because at one point in my life, I thought I would make some tarts apparently!! LOLOL!!! Don't worry, I still have like 8 more in case the tart urge comes back..... I included 5 little cards that are just like the one shown. The card base is Select White cut using my circle Nesties. The gingham paper is from Lily Bees Picket Fence Collection and the stamps on the front are from PTI's Everyday Button Bits. I stamped the leaves using Pear Pizazz ink, the sentiment using Black Memento ink and the "cherries" were made using Cherry Cobbler CS and MFT's Die-namics Button Quartet dies.
The "pie" is of course the tart tin on the bottom and then I cut a scalloped piece from Vintage Cream CS using my largest scalloped Nesties. I then sponged the edges using Crumb Cake ink. I then hand sewed the tan felt on top of the scallop. When I got about half of the felt stitched, I added 2 layers of batting to puff up the crust. I then used some Elmer's glue and lightly painted some areas on the top to add chunky glitter. The final step was to add the red and white bakers twine and the sentiment which is also in the PTI set.
Here is a closer look at the pie ~
