Featured Stamper Sunday ~ Stephanie!!!

WOW, it's Monday and almost the end to another year!  Time sure flies! 

I want to share with you today a card I made for yesterday's featured stamper challenge at SCS.  I haven't had time to play along for weeks!  Yesterday's featured stamper is none other than our Jbelle teammate ~ Stephanie!  Her card that I chose to CASE is HERE.  Here is my card ~

 

The base of this card is Vintage Cream from PTI and then Basic Black.  I then added THIS Pink Paislee DP on the top and a piece of coordinating Bazzill CS on the bottom.  The beautiful May Arts cream crocheted lace is from Stampers Dream.  This color is currently sold out but Michelle does have other colors available.  The stem is from Zva and can be found HERE.  I added some Prima flowers and a black button which I added a linen thread bow.  The sentiment is from Verve's Celebration of Thanks stamp set and was stamped using Basic Black ink.

Serendipity Stamps ~ Valentine & Easter DT Challenge.....

I will have 2 posts for you today so check back around 1 for my Jbelle post!  In case you have stopped by for the details on the Jbelle Tuesday challenge, it is a sketch this week and can be found HERE!

This month's DT challenge for Serendipity Stamps was to make either Valentine or Easter cards!  It was a nice break from Christmas cards to make the 2 I am going to show you today.  It makes it even more enjoyable when you LOVE the images you are using!!!  Here is my Valentine/Mother's Day card ~

 

The base of this card is Barely Banana with a mat of Sage Shadow and then Vintage Cream from PTI.  the decorative mat is first Chocolate Chip CS and then one of the patterns from My Minds Eye Be Loved Collection.  I ran the striped paper through my Cuttlebug using my leaves embossing folder.   I then added some pink May Arts lace and some off white ribbon I had in my stash that I have NO idea where I got it!!!  The image is by Serendipity Stamps and is called Heart Topiary and can be found HERE.  I stamped the image on Vintage Cream CS using Black Momento ink and then colored using a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I cut the image out and matted it on first Pink Pirouette and the another piece of polka dot DP from the same MME collection.  I cut the 2 mats using my Labels Four Nesties.  I then added Zva pearls.

The base of this card is Whisper White and was embossed using my Swiss Dots embossing folder just at the bottom of the card.  The stamped the darling Easter Chick image using Basic Black ink on Whisper White CS.  I then colored using a blender pen and Apricot, Tangerine, Banana, Mustard and Artichoke ink pads as well as my Prismacolor pencils.  I cut the image out using my oval Nesties and then matted on a scalloped oval of Tangerine Tango CS.  The decorative leaf paper is from My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow Collection and was punched at the bottom using my Martha Stewart flower border punch and then matted using Artichoke CS.  I added some scrap white silky ribbon and Zva clear rhinestones along the border.  The final little detail I added was some white flock on the little chickie using my Quickie glue pen.

You Warm my Heart.....

Hello!

I have been so busy trying to get ready for Christmas that I haven't had much time to stamp!  I just realized the other day that I need more Christmas cards because I gave so many away that I don't have enough to give to my family! LOLOL!!  I better get busy.

My card today was made a while ago but I hadn't had time to post it!

 

The base of this card is Sage Shadow with a mat of Night of Navy, Whisper White and then decorative paper from one of my DCWV paper packs.  The top light blue piece was punched using my snowflake Martha Stewart border punch and then I added tiny pink rhinestones.  The sage ribbon is by Martha Stewart.  I added the sentiment which I stamped on Whisper White using Basic Black ink and then cut the end to look like a flag.  The thread is some old Making Memories thread and tied on a little silver heart that I bought from Stampers Dream HERE!  The darling MFT Pure Innocence image was stamped on Whisper White using Black Momento ink.  I then colored using my Copics as well as paper pieced.  I added clear glitter and white flock to different parts of the image.  I cut the image out using my rectangle Nesties and then matted using Night of Navy ink.

Verve ~ Thankful Hearts Blog Hop ~ Challenge #3....

Are you having fun so far with the challenges and set reveals?  If you have no idea of what I am talking about, check out the Verve Blog to catch up on all the fun!! LOL!!

Now it's time for mine and Michelle's challenge!!!  Our challenge is called embellish with V-E-R-V-E!! Basically, all you have to do is make a card or project using at least one embellishment that starts with the letters in VERVE.  We will consider you cheating if you use VERY pretty brads but if you used VELVET brads, you will not be cheating!!! LOLOLOL!!!  For my card I used RIBBON and EMBOSSING ~

 

The base of this card is Vintage Cream CS from PTI and then a mat of Basic Black and then the K&Co. Black & Ivory DP.  The circle in the center is actually a window.  I stamped the swirled circle image from Verve's brand new set called Thankful Accents, using my Versamark and then heat embossing using black embossing powder.  I added small pearls to accent the embossed image as well as the bottom of the card where I used THIS Pierceabilities die to cut it.  The beautiful silk ribbon is from May Arts and can be found HERE.  I then cut the window using my circle Nesties.  Here is  closer look at window ~

 

The sentiment and little flourish are also included in the Thankful Accents set and were stamped using Black Momento ink.  Here is a look at the inside ~

 

Sorry about the crummy pictures but when these were taken, we were on our 3rd day of rain and drizzle here in Virginia!  Looks like we are FINALLY going to have a nice day today!

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ A Sketch!!!!

Hello!

It's Saturday and you know what that means!?!?!?  So, since you know will you tell me??? LOLOL!!!  It's C4C day!!!  This weeks challenge is a sketch.  I know, I just used this stamp the other day but I LOVE it and the sketch was just perfect for it!!!

 

The base of this card is PTI Vintage Cream.  The red, cocoa and blue papers are ALL from THIS collection from Imaginisce.  I love those papers!  The darling My Favorite Things stamp is called Flurry of Love and and was stamped on the same PTI Vintage Cream CS using Black Momento Ink.  I colored using a combination of Copics and Prisma Color pencils.  I also paper pieced her hat, scarf, boots, gloves and coat.  I added Snow White Flower Soft to her hat, gloves and boots.  The "snow" is Clear Martha Stewart glitter.  The little pearl buttons are from Memory Box and can be found HERE.  The image was matted using dark brown Bazill CS.

Did you see the awesome Ivory Crocheted ribbon??  Oh my gosh, I just bought it the other day and couldn't wait to use it!!!  It is by May Arts and can be found HERE!  I then added a SU! brown button as well as the CUTEST little heart charm which I bought HERE!  The heart was tied on the button and Heidi Swapp acetate snowflake using SU! linen thread.  The sentiment is included with the MFT's stamp and was stamped on Vintage Cream CS using Chocolate Chip ink and then cut out to look like a banner.   Here is a closer look at the charm and ribbon ~

The stockings were hung......

Good Sunday Afternoon!!!!
My card today is based on today's featured stamper, NikiE.  Her gallery is so beautiful and totally made me wish I owned some Riley stamps!!!!  Anyway, the card of hers I chose to CASE is HERE!  I kept pretty much the same layout and changed everything else.   Here is my card ~

The base of my card is Whisper White.  The next vertical mat is first Baja Breeze cardstock and then THIS awesome NEW Imaginisce Holiday paper.  It has glitter already on it!!!  BTW, don't forget, Lindsey is still having her sale which includes 15% off EVERYTHING in her store.  At check out, use the keyword LABOR08.  This sale includes the new Imaginisce papers and coordinating stamps and LOTS more!!!!  The next vertical mat is first Old Olive cardstock and then THIS Imaginisce paper.  For the focal image, the first thing I did was stamp THIS Penny Black branch stamp on Whisper White cardstock using Old Olive ink.  The next step was to stamp THIS  Penny Black stocking & ornaments stamp using Basic Black ink on top of the pine branch.  I stamped the ornaments & stocking again on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, colored the ornaments & stocking using a blender pen and Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose, Old Olive and Baja Breeze ink pads and then cut them out.  I added Icicle Stickles to highlight some of the areas on the ornaments and stocking and then added white flocking to the top of the stocking using my Quickie glue pen.  I then mounted these on top of the first image I stamped using dimensionals.  I took my silver Copic Spica glitter pen and outlined the strings and bows as well as some of the dots.  I then added THESE VERY cool Hero Arts clear bubble gems.

I added some narrow white organdy ribbon and a small piece of silver cord.  I didn't want to use a heavy ribbon because I didn't want to cover up the glitter on my paper!!!  LOL!!!  Anyway, here is my card and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Our Creative Corner Saturday Challenge ~ Dry Embossing!!!!

Good Morning!!!!
Today is Saturday and you know what that means........ Our Creative Corner's weekly challenge!!!  This weeks challenge is to dry emboss on your card!!!!  This means, use your Cuttlebug folders or you can even do it with your stylus, lightbox and brass template!!!  OK, the BEST part about this is....there is a PRIZE!!!!!  Cut at Home was so kind to give Jennifer some goodies to give away for this challenge!!!  You can check out ALL of the details HERE!!!!  Also, we have a guest this week!!!  Diane Gilbert agreed to join us for this weeks challenge!  Diane is an awesome stamper and a REALLY nice person!!!  Thanks Diane for playing with us!!  Now, when you go to the OCC blog and see all the samples, please know that the challenge is NOT only to use the Swiss Dots embossing folder!!! LOL!!!  It was so funny because none of us knew what the other was doing and it ended up that 5 of us used the Swiss Dots folder (as I type this Laurie, and Jen's cards weren't posted yet)!!!  Here is my card ~

The base of my card is light pink Bazzill cardstock.  The bottom scallop part was done using my BRAND NEW SU! scallop punch!!!  It is REALLY nice!  The black under the scallops is actually on the inside of the card so the top flap is a little shorter and scalloped.  The red and polka dot ribbon are both by May Arts and can be found HERE and HERE!  The black and white polka dot paper is by KI Memories and the next top mat is just Whisper White.  I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder around the edges using THIS technique which I had done a tutorial on a while back.  For this card instead of using the Scor-pal for the frame, I used my rectangle Nestabilities to emboss around, not cut the image.  The DARLING image is by Impression Obsession and currently is not in stock at Michelle's store BUT, she has ordered more and hopefully they will come in soon!!!  I colored the cupcakes using my Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Wild Wasabi ink pads and a blender pen.  I paper pieced the cake stand (using the same light pink Bazzill cardstock) and I also pieced the top right cupcake holder using the black & white polka dot paper.  I added Crystal Effects to the cherries and strawberry.  I also added Martha Stewart white glitter to all of the tops using a paint brush and Elmer's glue.  I used my gray Prismacolor pencil to color the "table".  The sentiment is from Fancy Flexible Phrases and was stamped on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the cupcake over the sentiment after stamping off 2 times.  I colored the cherry and stem and then added Crystal Effects on top of the cherry.  I cut this out using my Nestabilities and then matted it on a scalloped polka dot circle which I used my Nestabilities again.  This was adhered using dimensionals.  Here is a close up of the image~

Our Creative Corner Saturday Challenge ~ It's a SKETCH!!!!

WOW!!!  We sure had a heck of a turnout for last weeks Basic Grey Challenge!!!  Thank you all so much for that!!!  The winner of Lindsey's $15 store gift certificate (you might want to use it this weekend since she is having a sale ~ 20% off everything in the store!!!) will be posted on our OCC Blog along with today's Challenge so be sure to check it out!!!!  You will LOVE today's challenge!!!  Our hostess this month is Jennifer and boy does she have some AWESOME challenges in store for us!!!  Today's challenge is a sketch!  If you do decide to play along and upload to SCS, please don't forget to add OCCC in the keywords section.  The actual sketch is posted on the blog AND again we have a SPECIAL surprise!!!!  I will share the surprise with you after I share my card ~

The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock with a mat of decorative paper from Prima's Urban Cosmos Collection.  The next mat is first (bottom up) Certainly Celery cardstock and the next polka dot mat is from Bo Bunny and is called Chocolate Dot.  The next mat is first Chocolate Chip and then So Saffron cardstock.  I used my ticket corner punch on all 4 corners, ran gold cord around (I just used Scotch tape to adhere the pieces of the cord to the back) and then added some BEAUTIFUL self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Craft.  To adhere the ribbon, I punched a hole on the right side of the oval and then pulled the ribbon through and then ended back on the right side and then tied a knot.  The ribbon is from May Arts.   The focal image is from Inkadinkado and is called Duet (Lindsey will be getting more of these in next week).  I stamped the image using Chocolate Chip ink on Cryogen White Shimmery cardstock and then cut it out using my oval Nesties!!!  I made the frame by layering the scalloped die and smaller oval die (fit right inside the scalloped die), taped (Scotch) them on top of the Urban Cosmos decorative paper and then ran it through my Cuttlebug.  It cut and embossed the scalloped frame!!!  I then colored the birds using my Prismacolor Pencils, highlighted with my Copic Spica gold glitter pen, added my Prima Flowers and Kaiser Craft pearls to the centers of the flowers.  I used dimensionals to mount the oval on top of the Saffron piece.

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday!!!

Today is sketch challenge Wednesday at SCS!  I really like the layout this week.  If you are interested in playing, you can see the sketch HERE!  Here is my card ~
 

The base of my card is Kraft cardstock which I ran through my Cuttlebug and embossed using one of the old floral folders.  The horizontal piece is first Basic Black, then red Bazzill and the top decorative piece is from the AWESOME 7 Gypsies Sushi paper!  BTW, Lindsey is going to have an Independence Weekend Celebration Sale starting tomorrow!!!  EVERYTHING is going to be on SALE!!!!  Check it out HERE! 

The vertical piece is first Cryogen White Shimmery cardstock and then another pattern from the Sushi pack.  I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock to the side which I cut using my scalloped scissors.  The focal image is from Bloomin' Beautiful which I stamped on Cryogen White Shimmery cardstock using Basic Black ink.  I stamped the image another time on the shimmery cardstock and again on the Sushi paper.  I cut out the flower part from the shimmery cardstock, colored it with my Prismacolor Pencils and the River Rock ink pad & blender pen.  I mounted it on top of the first stamped image using dimensionals and then added white Liquid Pearls to the centers of the flowers.  I then cut the flower pot out from the decorative paper and then mounted it on top of the first stamped image.  I then mounted the image on top of first Basic Black and then Kraft cardstock.  The ribbon is first off white lace then Kraft Tafetta and then I tied a little bow using May Arts black & white polka dot ribbon.

I then stamped the bee using Basic Black ink just above the flowers and then again on a piece of scrap shimmery cardstock.  I cut the body and wings out from the extra piece, added black flock using my Quickie glue pen and then mounted it on top of the first bee.  The last step was to add Stardust Stickles to the bee's wings.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

I think I am going to have to move! LOL!!!   I was born and raised in Monterey California with street lights, sidewalks, neighbors and the NASTIEST bug I can remember is what we referred to as a Potato Bug.  They were UGLY and lived in the dirt so the best thing to do was to not dig in the dirt ~ problem solved!  I now live in Virginia and have lived here now for 15 years!!!  I have experienced a Coyote grabbing one of my chickens right in front of me, bobcats, foxes, Black SNAKES (lots of these), huge snapping turtles, being attacked by barn swallows IN MY OWN BARN!, river otters, being attacked by my rooster (may he rest in peace), a hawk killing one of my chickens and then ME learning to load and unload the shotgun so I can protect my kids and animals!!!  OMG, what has become of me!! LOL!!!  What brings me to mention my moving (just kidding of course) announcement all started on Saturday when I ran in to town.  It all started innocent enough and when I was about 4 miles from my house (I live in a very rural area) I look and right on the side of the road is a very large black bear!  No, it was not dead, it was standing there waiting to cross the road!!!  As I was sitting in the middle of the road trying figure out why I lived here, the bear very leisurely walks across the road to the driveway of the only house in the area.  It actually was exciting by scary too!!!  I am sure there will come a time that we have one on our property.....  Then, this morning there was a SNAKE in our pool!!!  The kids and I were busy retrieving the frogs from the pool and then I look and there was a snake!!!!  Mary started crying and telling me that she is NEVER going in the pool again, Joey, my hero, was telling me to get it out, get it out!!!!  LOL!!!  As I was getting ready to fish it out, I thought we better check to make sure it wasn't a Copperhead because if it was, I would need to kill it!!!  Oh fun.....  It wasn't a Copperhead so it was safely released back in to the wild!!!   And to think I used to dress pretty nicely, had my nails done and actually wore jewelry!!!!  Not anymore!  I wear jeans, shorts and t-shirts, don't wear jewelry ~ why? do the animals care?? and nails, what nails?!?!?  LOL!!!    OK, sorry, went off track for a minute there!!!  I made this card for my Dad's Birthday that is coming up soon!
The base of my card is Chocolate Chip cardstock with first a mat of River Rock cardstock and then THIS beautiful decorative paper from Memory Box ~ called Grove.  The next vertical mat is first Chocolate Chip and then the same decorative paper.  The horizontal piece is first matted on River Rock cardstock and then another piece of decorative paper from the same paper pack.  I stamped the Inkadinkado ~ Three in a Tree stamp was stamped on Cryogen White cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink.  I colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and Mellow Moss & River Rock ink pads and blender pen.  The ribbon is from May Arts and was taped (Scotch) under the image and then taped to the back of the horizontal strip.  I then took a small piece of ribbon, punched a hole in the side of image and tied a knot on that side.  The Inkadinkado Happy Birthday sentiment (Lindsey is sold out of this one!) was stamped using Chocolate Chip ink directly on to the decorative paper.
