Friends Brighten Your Day....

I have a couple MFT challenge cards to share with you today.  The first one is based on THIS weeks sketch and the second is based on LAST weeks sketch.

I had mentioned before that I was cleaning my craft room, well, it's amazing the things you find!  I have a huge amount of OLD Chatterbox paper that I don't use but haven't been able to part with.   Luckily I didn't part with it as there were some patterns I have that worked perfectly for a frame I made for my daughter's friend!  I will share that with you tomorrow but really, my point is that I ran across the stamp set I used on today's card that I forgot I had!  I haven't used it in years so it was like using a NEW stamp set!!! LOLOL!!! I guess there is 1 thing good about cleaning!!!   Here is my card ~

The base of this card is True Black with a mat of textured Going Gray and then True Black again.  The pink polka dot DP is from MME Tickled Pink Fine and Dandy Collection and the yellow flower paper is from Echo Park's Walk in the Park Collection and then the cloud paper is from MME True Blue Fine and Dandy Collection.  The image is from MFT and is called Rain or Shine.  I stamped the image once on Select White CS and a second time on Going Gray.  I cut the Select White image out using my oval Nesties and then colored it using my Copics (E00, E11, E50, E55, E57, E59, BG10 and B41).  I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the puddle using my Quickie glue pen.  I used my SU! scallop border punch to layer the yellow and Select White, added a Basic Grey yellow button and tied the Friends sentiment on using Rose floss.  The Friends sentiment is actually part of a sentence and since I didn't have room for a sentence on the front, I just inked up the Friends part using Black Memento ink, stamped it on Select White CS and punched it out using my Martha Stewart tag punch.  Here is a closer look at the image ~

I added the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card ~

 

The following is a card I made for a friend who recently had surgery and as I said before, it is based on last weeks MFT sketch ~

 

The base of this card is Select White with a mat of Pure Poppy and then one of the darling heart patterns included in Bo Bunny's Crazy Love Collection.  I stamped the sweet Better get Better Pure Innocence image on Select White using Black Memento ink and then cut it out using my Lacey Circle Nesties.  I colored the image using Copics, matted with a Early Espresso circle and added Pure Poppy ribbon.  I tied the sentiment on using a brown button and red and white bakers floss.

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ Thanks....

I have a few things to share today so hopefully you have a cup of coffee handy!  First of all, I am now a Krafty Chick!!! Here is my first card ~

The base of this card is Early Espresso and the lined scallop piece is from Webster's Pages Wonderfall/Hollywood Vogue Collection.  The lined paper was a 6x6 piece so I trimmed it down to fit my 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card and cut around the scallops.  The Early Espresso ribbon is from SU! and then I tied a pink button on top, using Pink floss.  I will give the sentiment details in a minute. 

The Queen Anne's Lace image is from Serendipity Stamps and was stamped on the Naturals Ivory CS using Black Memento ink.  Prior to stamping the image, I did cut out the Top Note die.  I probably should have used Brown Memento but I really like how the black ink makes the image stand out more.  I colored using my Copics, sponged the edges using Crumb Cake ink and then added Ivory Flower Soft on the Queen Anne's Lace and the NEW Peony Pink in the centers of the little flowers.  I used the Flower Soft glue to adhere it.  The butterfly was stamped on pink Melissa Frances DP, cut out and adhered on top of the first stamped image.  I also added a strip of the same pink paper on the inside of the Espresso ribbon.

 Isn't it beautiful?!?!  The sentiment is also from Serendipity Stamps and is included in THIS Hydrangea & Sunflower set.  I only inked up the Thanks, using Early Espresso, and stamped it on another pattern included in the Webster's Pages Collection and punched it out using my Martha Stewart small tag punch.

Here is another SUPER quick card using all 3 of the brand new Flower Soft colors ~

This is one of Flower Soft's Toppers.  They have tons of topper to choose from!  You can see them all HERE.  I added Peony Pink, Meadow and Marigold to the image and then matted with Early Espresso, a pink patterned piece of paper from Imaginisce and then Select White for the card base.

The sentiment is from Verve's Sweet Treat set and was stamped using Early Espresso ink.

Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C69) ~ You Warm My Heart...

Oh yippee, we are supposed to get snow again?!?!  What the heck??? LOL  Oh well, I guess I can just stay in and play with my stamps!!!

Today's Crazy challenge is a color challenge!  Our Crazy girl Maria has tasked us with this awesome challenge!!!  Use the colors in this beautiful picture for your inspiration ~

Here is my card ~

The layout of this card is based on My Favorite Things new Wednesday Stamp Club challenge which is now going to be sketches!  I love sketches.  Makes my life much easier!  Anyway, MFT had a big sale after Christmas so I ordered the Grow Love set that I had been looking at for a long time.  The sentiment is not in the Grow Love set but is from the Pure Innocence Snow Day set. 

The base of my card is Dark Chocolate with a mat of Select White.  The decorative paper is from Bo Bunny's Crazy Love collection.  The top large layered scallops were cut using MFT's Jumbo Scallop die.  The tree was pieced with 2 different patterns and then adhered to another pattern that I cute using my oval Nesties.  The buttons are from PTI and the string is white floss.

Love Birds....

Hi!

Happy Wednesday!  My card today is for today's sketch challenge at SCS.

 The base of this card is Select White with a mat of True Black.  All of the decorative paper is from Bo Bunny's Crush Collection.  The strip across the top is True Black cardstock which I punched the top of using my Fiskars Apron border punch.  I then added a strip of patterned paper and then black twill ribbon from May Arts.  The birdcage is chipboard and is by Maya Road.  I first painted it black and then added black glitter from Pink Paislee using a paintbrush and Elmer's Glue.  The birds, that look a little like seagulls, were punched from Select White CS using my Martha Stewart Sparrow punch.  The sparrows had legs when I punched them but I cut them off and added eyes with a black marker since they didn't have eyes!!! lolol  The heart was punched from red glitter paper using my Martha Stewart heart confetti punch.  I first glued the cage down on the heart panel and then tied the bow using white floss and silver cord.

Mojo Monday ~ You are my Sunshine.....

Boy, am I on a roll!!!  I have been able to get lots of cards done lately.  I like when that happens!  In a week or two, my mojo will run out so I will take advantage of it now!!! LOL!!! 

The kids are off again this week so we have been catching up on appointments, which is a good thing.  We have had a great time this holiday and I'll be sad for them to go back to school on Monday.....except when I go to the grocery store and get to the checkout and find all kinds of junk that I did not put in there!!! LOLOLOL!!!  They are pretty darn funny.

Anyway, you came to see a card and I shall show you one!  My card today is based on THIS Mojo Monday sketch and YES, I followed the sketch this time!!!!

This card makes me happy!  I LOVE the flowers and the yellow, so cheerful!!  The base of this card is Daffodil Delight and is 5" square.  The next mat is first Cherry Cobbler and then Select White.  The top sky squares are from MME Loves Me Collection and the bottom squares are Pear Pizzaz.  Do you see the lines on the squares???  Oh my gosh, that is a stamp included in Verve's Text Objects set!!!  My 4 panels needed something and I saw that stamp and thought how cute it would look!  I used black Memento ink to stamp it.  The main panel is Select White CS and for the "grass" I stamped the line of hearts from Verve's Heart's Desire set using Pear Pizzaz ink.  The stems are from the Great Friend set and were stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink.  The flowers are from the Amazing Wishes set and were stamped on one of the patterns included in Echo Parks Sweet Summertime Collection, using Black Memento ink, cut them out and then I stamped the "Where there is love, there is life" sentiment included in the Text Objects set, again using Black Memento ink. 

I then added the You are my Sunshine sentiment, from Let it Shine, using Black Memento ink on Select White CS, punched it out using my small oval punch and then hand cut a True Black mat.  I then cut the decorative tag from SU's Sizzlets ~ Lots of Tags dies.

Big Ships and Small Ships....

Hello!

My card today is not for any challenge but because I have wanted to use my new Verve Text Objects set for a few weeks now!  I also got to use my new My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue DP!

 

Isn't the sentiment awesome?!?  The base of this card is Vintage Cream with a mat of Dark Chocolate CS.  All of the DP is from My Minds Eye's new Fine and Dandy True Blue collection.  The little ship was stamped on Vintage Cream CS and cut out using my Lacey Circle Spellbinders die and then I added a Peach Parfait circle under to tie in with the orange in the patterned paper.  I stamped the long text on the orange DP using Cocoa Memento ink.  Here is a closer look ~

I added the little buttons and was finished!  Another very simple card!  Well, that's all for me today!  Have a great day!
