Viva la Verve ~ Thanks for being there.....

Happy Friday!

Today's Viva la Verve sketch has been brought to us by Maureen!  It is a great sketch!  If you would like to play along, you can get all the details HERE in the Verve SCS forum!

 

 

The base of this card is Dark Chocolate with a mat of Kraft.  All of the DP is from Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden DP.  I cut a piece of the DP using my Circle Nesties and matted it with Kraft CS that I cut using my Spellbinders Blossom die.  The two butterflies were cut from a second sheet of the same paper and adhered using glue dots.  I added a small pink rose and pink pearls which were left overs from a Prima Flourish.  The little frame is from Melissa Frances in which I stamped the beautiful Verve sentiment, from the brand new Words Cannot Express set, using Early Espresso ink directly on the DP.  I then added a Tim Holtz pin with SU! lace, a pink rose made from my MFT rolled rose die and leaves from some stickers I got at Micheal's.  I still need to work on my vintage style but all in all, I think it turned out nice.  It won't be fitting in to a normal envelope thats for sure!!! LOL!!!

Viva la Verve ~ Happy Birthday!!!

I have been trying to catch up with all my DT committments so that means there has been quite a bit of stamping going on today!!! LOL!!! 

Did you know Verve just had a new release on Friday night??  You can check out all the beautiful, new stamps HERE.  For my card today, I used 2 brand new sets.  The sun, clouds and flower are all from New Mercies which is actually more of a sympathy set but as you can see, very versatile.  The sentiment is from Small Phrases which has the most beautiful font and are nice and small so they can fit easily on any card or project.

The base of this card is Green Galore with a mat of Dark Chocolate and then Kraft CS.  All of the DP is from MME Lime Twist Fly A Kite Collection.  I cut the cloud paper out using my Spellbinders Labels Sixteen and then stamped the flower directly on the DP using Black Memento ink.  I stamped the flower again on another pattern of DP, cut it out and added some small Zva clear rhinestones to the center.  I used a dimensional to adhere it on top of the first stamped image.  The sun was stamped on Select White CS, colored with my Copics and cut out.  I added 2 small clouds that were stamped on watercolor paper and cut out.  The sentiment was stamped on watercolor paper and tied on using natural burlap string.

Hello Sunshine!!!

Hi!

Today I am headed to DC with my daughter's 5th grade class to visit the monuments!  I am so excited!!  It is supposed to be a beautiful day so hopefully I can get some nice pictures.  I love going to DC!!  Next week we are going to the DC Zoo so that should be a ton of fun too!!  Anyway, I have wanted to play along with Shannan's Viva la Verve sketch challenge HERE for a while now and finally had a chance!  The sketch is SO cool!!

 

The base of this card is Select White with a mat of Early Espresso.  I then added the panels, as Shannan's awesome tutorial says, on top of Kraft CS.  I added some sewing on each one.  The sand is Kraft CS sponged with Crumb Cake ink and the water is Baja Breeze CS punched using my EK Success wave punch and I added Stardust Stickles.  The DP is from Echo Parks Sweet Summertime line from last year.  I then stamped the palm trees, fromVerve's Relax set, on Select White CS using Black Memento ink and colored using my Copics.  The final step was to add a couple of small blue felt clouds that I had laying on my desk and worked perfectly with the scene!

Love Notes....

Happy Saturday!

I hope you have big plans that don't include cold weather, rain or snow!!! LOLOL!!!  I don't have anything big planned so maybe I can do some stamping!!!

Today's Crazy challenge is to make a Valentine card.  My layout is based on yesterday's Viva la Verve sketch.  Here is the sketch by Amy ~

Here is my card ~

The base of this card is Early Espresso with the next two decorative papers from DCWV Linen Closet Collection.  Oh my gosh, did you see how straight my sewing is?!?!?  I don't think I have EVER sewn so straight!!! LOLOLOL!!!  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler seam binding and I added some scrap lace I had in my stash.  The little heart charm was tied on using linen thread.  The Cherry Cobbler panel was embossed using my Sizzix Love folder.  The little Love Notes binder is from Verve's Blue Skies set and was stamped on a striped pattern of paper from the Linen Closet Collection and was stamped using Early Espresso ink.  I actually cut it twice and cut one out completely and another, just to top paper.  The Love Notes, hearts, XOXO and I {heart} you sentiments are all from Verve's new Love Notes set.  I used Early Espresso, Crum Cake and Cherry Cobbler inks.

 The layout of my card is based on Amber's Viva la Verve sketch this week!  The cardstock I used is Daffodil Delight, Black and Select White.  The decorative paper is all from Echo Park's Sweet Summertime Collection.  The palm tree, sun and wave are from Verve's Relax set and the little ship is from the Text Objects set.   I know, I have used these sets ALOT but I LOVE them!!!!! The ribbon is Martha Stewart seam binding.  I paper pieced the sun and ship mast.  The rest were colored with Copics.  I added Stardust Stickles to the wave and light brown flock to the coconuts using a Quickie glue pen.

The base of this card is textured Going Gray CS and is 4 1/4" square.  I then added a scalloped Select White mat and finally, a piece of pink DP from Imaginisce.   The DARLING elephant is from the brand new To the Moon set and was stamped 2 times on Select White CS, cut out the entire body on the first one and the second, I just cut out the head and arms.  These were then colored with Copics, put in a "window" I made using Square Nesties and stamped the frame (also included in the set), using Black Memento ink.  I then added the pink rhinestones and made the happy birthday sign by stamping the sentiment, from Big Wish, on Select White, using Black Memento and then cut it out, added silver cord and mounted it using dimensionals.

Crazy 4 Challenges ~ My Heart Belongs to You.....

Hi!

I have my Crazy card all ready to show you today!  Our Crazy challenge this week is to make a Vintage or Shabby Chic themed card or project. 

The layout is based on Charmaine's awesome Viva la Verve sketch HERE.   For cardstock I used Vintage Cream from PTI and Crumb Cake and Blush Blossom from SU!.  The decorative paper is from My Minds Eye Pink Lush Collection.  The ribbon is Satin Ivory and Ivory tulle.  I added 2 white Zva roses that I colored using my Blush Copic Marker.  It's hard to see but I did add some clear Martha Stewart glitter on the edges and a Maya Road clear jewel stick pin.  The beautiful swirled frame is from Verve's Sweet Treats set and was stamped on Vintage Cream using Crumb Cake ink, cut out and then matted with a Vintage Cream Classy Label Die mat.  The sentiment is from Verve' s Love Notes set and was stamped using Crumb Cake ink and then I colored the heart with a blender pen and Blush Blossom ink pad.  I added the same clear Martha Stewart glitter on the heart.  I then mounted the Classy Label piece on top of a Blush Blossom strip that I embossed using my Sizzix Love embossing folder and then punched the top and bottom using my EK Success border punch.

Viva la Verve ~ A Modern Birthday Wish....

Woohooooo!  It's Friday!!!  Not only is it exciting that it's Friday but today is Verve's release day which will be filled with LOTS of fun, sneak peeks and prizes!!!  You will have to wait until 1pm today as that is when it all gets started HERE in the Verve challenge forum!  That is also where you can find today's Viva la Verve challenge which my card today is based on.

And here are the inspiration pictures should you choose to use them.  I wish my kitchen looked like one of these.  I love how modern they are!  I am sure you will be able to tell which one I chose!!!!

Here is my card ~

For my card, I have used BRAND NEW Verve stamps which will be peeked all day and released tonight!  You can come join the fun tonight at 9 in the Verve forum HERE!  I know I say it every time but you are going to LOVE the new stamps!  They are AWESOME, as usual!!!

The base of my card is True Black (PTI) and then Select White (PTI) and finally, a green floral piece from Basic Grey's LilyKate Collection.  It isn't quite the Lime Green the picture shows but it will do!!!  The black and white polka dot paper is from KI Memories and was matted with Select White CS.  The upper right piece is Select White and then matted with True Black CS.  The sentiment on this piece is from Verve's NEW set called Big Wish and the corner filigree pieces are from an older Verve set called Filigree Fantasy.  They were all stamped using Black Momento ink.  I wish I wouldn't have squished the sentiment up to the side but once I stamped it, it was too late!!!  I then pierced around the square and added some silver beads which I picked up at Michael's.  The flower image is from Verve's NEW set called Feel the Sun and was stamped on Select White using Black Momento ink.  I then colored using my Copics and actually stamped the flower again and cut out the bloom and mounted it on top of the first stamped image using dimensionals.  The final step was to add the American Crafts ribbon and silver beads on the corner of the image.

Viva la Verve ~ Celebrating you!!!!

Wahoo!!!  It's Friday!  Now, if it was only 70 and sunny!!!  LOL!!!  

My card today is based on Amber's Viva la Verve sketch and inspiration challenge for week 4.  I LOVED my card until I took the picture and then I didn't think it was as pretty as I first thought!! LOLOLOL!!!  It REALLY does look better in real life!

 

The base of this card is Going Gray.  The DP is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie Collection.  The bottom piece was matted on Whisper White and punched using my EK Success border punch.  The top corner piece is matted on Basic Black.  The ribbon is white satin from SU!.  The image is from Verve's NEW Heart's Desire set and was stamped on Whisper White using Black Momento ink.  I cut the image out using my oval Nesties and then used my Going Gray marker to make the border and then before removing the die, I sponged some Going Gray ink.  I outlined the image using a grey Copic marker and a green Copic marker just around the leaves.  The sentiment is from the Celebrating You set and was again stamped using Black Momento ink.  The rhinestones are Swarovski crystals and were adhered using my Quickie glue pen.  The green flower is from Zva and can be found HERE.  I added a little  heart charm on top of the sentiment and that can be found HERE!  I added the little decorative pieces on the top and bottom of the image using my Labels Four Spellbinder die.

Viva la Verve ~ At Home with VERVE!!!!

Good Morning!

Amber has changed the Viva la Verve challenges as of the first of the year and it is awesome!  You can check out all the details HERE!  For this weeks sketch and inspiration pictures, go HERE!  I fudged a little on the sketch ~

 

The base of this card is Chocolate Chip with a mat of Curry and then Vintage Cream under the right panel and then Chocolate Chip under the left panel.  The decorative paper on the top of the panels is from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry Collection.  I added some branches and Curry swirls to the to the left of the image as well as a button I saved from a shirt of my daughters!  The image, from Forever in our Hearts, was stamped on Vintage Cream using Chocolate Chip ink and then colored using my Prismacolor Pencils.  I sponged Creamy Caramel lightly around the edges and then stamped the birds using Brocade Blue ink.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum paper using Chocolate Chip ink.  This was then matted on first Chocolate Chip CS and then Brocade Blue.

Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge...with a Black & White twist!!!

Good Morning!

I am going to share with you today a card made for last Friday's Viva la Verve sketch challenge with a Black & White twist!  I LOVE black and white!!  It was hard to not add a little color but I did it!!! LOL!!  We would love for you to play along.  You do not have to use Verve stamps to play along.  Amber posts new challenges each Friday.  You can check it out HERE!

Here is my card ~

The base of this card is Black with a mat of white which was cut, embossed and pierced at the bottom using THIS Pierceabilities die.  The black & white decorative paper is from SU! and is called Night and Day Specialty.  The ribbon is black felt and then I added a black velvet flower which I have had for a long time, can't remember who made it.  The panel below the image is Whisper White and was embossed using a leaf folder and then matted with Basic Black CS.  I stamped the swans from Verve's new set called Swan Song, using Basic Black ink on Whisper White CS.  I stamped the swans again on a scrap piece of white and cut out just the feathers and popped them up on dimensionals.  I cut the image out using my rectangle Nesties and matted using Basic Black.
